Chapter 2879: Chapter 2880: Virus Breeding Ground

Very quickly, Xin Lan exclaimed.

”Ye Luo, where did you get this soil from!”

Ye Luo’s spirit was also lifted, indeed, there was something wrong with this soil.

Subsequently, Ye Luo spoke truthfully.

Xin Lan immediately stepped back a few paces, her face turning somewhat pale.

”Ye Luo, you’d best withdraw your troops immediately, but it might be too late!” she muttered, her words startlingly jumbled.

This left Ye Luo greatly puzzled; what had she discovered that could leave a usually composed scientist so shaken?

”This is the breeding ground of the doomsday virus, the very site of the experiment from back then. According to what you said, the goal of the Assassin Alliance is to turn you into the first generation mother bodies of the virus!” Xin Lan said gravely.

Upon hearing this, Ye Luo’s face instantly changed dramatically.

After all, as a cultivator from a technology kingdom, he naturally understood what this meant.

If 250,000 elite soldiers became the mother bodies of this virus, the entire Demon Realm would immediately collapse!

Or rather, the Demon Realm would be taken over by this virus.

So, what is the Assassin Alliance’s ultimate goal?

”I actually have something to tell you, the virus sample you brought over, I dissected it and found that it conceals certain information, this information exerts a controlling effect on the virus! This is something I am not able to do at the moment, which shows that the technological level behind this virus must have reached that of a base, and with this information, they can control the virus outbreak! Although this severely limits the virus’s power, it makes the virus controllable!” Xin Lan slowly explained.

Control the virus? Ye Luo’s expression grew incredibly grim, he naturally understood the significance of this.

”If they’ve embedded this piece of information into the virus, they must have figured out a way to control it, perhaps their goal is to control the Demon Realm. This fits Zhongzhou civilization’s style quite well!” Xin Lan continued.

The meaning of her words was clear, that awakening technological seed had already grown strong, aiming to control the entire Demon Realm.

This was perhaps Zhongzhou civilization’s first step in counterattack! Of course, all of this was purely speculative.

Moreover, although the virus is formidable, the Demon Realm is not that simple either; if the sky falls naturally someone taller will hold it up. As of now, Ye Luo’s task is to manage his own territory well.

After all, whether this virus spreads in the Demon Realm relates greatly to Ye Luo’s 250,000 elite soldiers.

If the mother bodies develop one by one, not only will this be slow, but it will also expose this region, which would welcome the retaliation of the Demon Realm experts, the outcome of which completely remains unknown!

But with 250,000 mother bodies? The effect would be explosive!

”Could it be that even Sacred Fire is not enough to resist this virus?” Ye Luo asked.

Xin Lan immediately shook her head, ”Sacred Fire can resist the virus, but only to a limited extent. Just like how a heap of fire can dry wet clothes, but turn a basin of water onto it and the fire naturally extinguishes! In this breeding ground of the virus, the quantity is too much, Sacred Fire won’t have any effect at all!”

Only then did Ye Luo realize, things were really getting serious.

He didn’t even dare assure himself now that he hadn’t been infected by this virus.

Moreover, this virus doesn’t have much impact in terms of realm and strength!

In other words, if a cultivator at the Martial Emperor Realm gets contaminated with this virus, the consequences wouldn’t be good.

Of course, as for those old immortals, Ye Luo couldn’t assure they could withstand this virus.

For instance, King of Huainan, whether this virus would affect him, it’s unknown.

After all, the reason why King of Huainan survived through many assassination attempts was due to his life-saving skills incomparable to an ordinary person.

”Do you have any solution?” At present, Ye Luo could only turn to Xin Lan for help.

”These days I’ve been continuously researching, but serum isn’t something that can be developed overnight. After all, back then so many technology kingdoms couldn’t solve anything about this virus, albeit this is a replica, vastly different from the true doomsday virus, the problem is, the level of my laboratory, you’ve seen it!” Xin Lan helplessly spread her hands, ”Do you remember how we dealt with the totem virus back then?”

Ye Luo paused for a moment; he did indeed combat totems with a virus in the past.

”Are you saying?” Ye Luo suddenly looked up.

”Right, actually there are two ways to fight this virus: inject anti-virus serum, and the other is to develop immunity to the virus! The human body is a unique existence, its adaptability remarkably strong, if one survives in the virus for years, an adaptability develops, naturally the virus cannot harm the body!” Xin Lan explained.

Ye Luo furrowed his brows, the method seemed feasible, but in reality, it was considerably risky.

”The success rate of this method is too low, how many of my 250,000 soldiers can survive?”

”Normal probability-wise, about a hundred would survive!” Xin Lan responded.

Ye Luo was instantly speechless, 250,000 people, and only a hundred survive, it would be better to directly have them commit suicide collectively!

”Those 250,000 are your soldiers, it’s no concern of mine, the one I’m aiming to rescue is just you!” Xin Lan suddenly looked up at Ye Luo.

Ye Luo immediately widened his eyes, ”Does that mean you have a better solution?”

Xin Lan shot Ye Luo a glare of exasperation, ”Do you realize how many days I haven’t rested for developing this shortcut?”

Only then did Ye Luo notice the unmistakable exhaustion on Xin Lan’s face.

”You’ve worked hard!”

Saying that, Ye Luo drew her into his arms, and this time Xin Lan did not resist, instead quietly staying in his embrace, only after a long while did she pull away, tears already staining her face.

”Ye Luo, I’m really confused now; my intense experimentations were just a way to numb the confusion in my heart. I was originally from the Zhongzhou Empire, the scientist left behind, meant to strive for the revival of the Zhongzhou civilization, but now, I stand against the Zhongzhou Empire!”

She suddenly stopped speaking, evidently she was grappling with substantial inner turmoil.

Ye Luo understood her feelings, standing against the domain that nurtured one’s upbringing is never easy.

”In your mind, what kind of entity is the Zhongzhou civilization?” Instead of comforting her, Ye Luo asked.

Xin Lan paused briefly then fell into remembrance.

Ye Luo knew that unless Xin Lan resolved her internal conflict, it would be difficult for him to survive this crisis, especially considering Xin Lan’s current state, it was hard to resist the virus.
