Chapter 1643: Chapter 1644: Monster Hunting Convention

The Demon King actually remembered it!

In the past, Ye Luo naturally wouldn’t have known what this guard’s Demon Hunting Festival was about.

But now, Ye Luo already had some understanding of the Demon Clan, and naturally knew about this Demon Hunting Festival!

The Demon Hunting Festival is a tradition of the Demon Clan. It can be said that, within the entire Da Yue Empire, tribes large and small would regularly or irregularly host a Demon Hunting Festival.

And what this guard mentioned naturally is the Demon Hunting Festival specifically organized by the Royal Family.

Though generally, the Demon Clan hosts their own Demon Hunting Festivals separately and rarely partake in others, after all, the demon beasts targeted by each tribe are different.

However, what the Royal Family hosts is quite different.

The Royal Family does not represent just one tribe; they represent countless tribes of the Demon Clan!

Therefore, it can be said, each Demon Hunting Festival hosted by the Royal Family is practically a grand festival of the Da Yue Empire!

Of course, since it’s a Demon Hunting Festival, it naturally has its own rules.

According to Ye Luo’s understanding from books, the Royal Family of the Da Yue Empire controls at least a dozen small worlds specifically for demon hunting, and has several Royal hunting grounds within the empire.

However, it’s unknown where they will be going this time!

The rules of the Demon Hunting Festival are actually simple: there are no rules!

As long as someone participates in the Demon Hunting Festival, life and death are their own responsibility, what they can obtain completely depends on their ability; there is no rule against seizing others’ prey, as long as you have the strength to seize it, no one will blame you, nor are there any restrictions by rules.

Of course, as long as you don’t mind retaliation...

During these three months, Ye Luo mostly stayed in his room, except for occasional visits from Princess Yu; he refused all other visits and explained to outsiders that he needed rest due to his injuries.

But in reality, he was cramming his knowledge about the Da Yue Empire!

And now, Ye Luo had a thorough understanding of the Da Yue Empire, so he naturally couldn’t continue staying at home!

”Alright, bring the things in!”

Ye Luo had already guessed what they were.

Demon hunting isn’t just about slaying demon beasts; the Demon Hunting Festival isn’t a Demon Slaying Festival, but about capturing demon beasts.

The true essence of the Demon Hunting Festival is bringing back live demon beasts, training them to become what you desire.

Naturally, what was sent to Ye Luo now were magical treasures for capturing demon beasts!

Hunting nets, anesthetics, beast taming flutes, and so on!

The Demon Clan’s magical treasures for demon hunting are quite numerous, it can be said a lot of these things were something Ye Luo hadn’t encountered before.

Even targeting different demon beasts, the Demon Clan created specific magical treasures!

After all, the tradition the Demon Clan excels in the most is taming demon beasts!

Ye Luo put away those things because he knew that to hunt demon beasts, these magical treasures were indispensable.

With the guard’s reminder, Ye Luo couldn’t remain carefree as before; over the next few days, Ye Luo quickly crammed his knowledge about demon beasts.

Finally, the Demon Hunting Festival began!

The site wasn’t possibly within the Royal Palace, so initially, Ye Luo didn’t feel any grand atmosphere!

But stepping out from the Royal Palace, Ye Luo realized the profound significance this Demon Hunting Festival held for the Demon Clan!

At this moment, the entire Royal City was boiling; warriors from various tribes across the Da Yue Empire had arrived.

The Da Yue Empire isn’t the Great Tang Empire, so there’s no leaderboard or the like, but the Demon Hunting Festival serves as a leaderboard!

Only those from the Demon Clan who capture the most powerful demon beast will be remembered!

Just like within their tribes, they are warriors!

Arriving at the Royal City, they must contest the world’s warriors for the title of hero!

Indeed, the biggest reward of the Demon Hunting Festival is merely a name, the virtual title of hero!

Yet, that alone drives countless strong individuals of the Demon Clan to compete bravely, risking their lives to seize it.

The Demon Clan has no leaderboard, so they only remember the first place!

Not first?

No one will remember you!

At this moment, Ye Luo still couldn’t understand this tradition; seeing so many strangely looking Demon Clan members, Ye Luo merely found it quite amusing.

In fact, up until now, Ye Luo didn’t really have a concept of what this Demon Hunting Festival was.

For Ye Luo, this Demon Hunting Festival was something completely novel and appeared rather abruptly, so naturally, it would be impossible to truly understand too much.

After all, the simple records in books could not let Ye Luo fully comprehend.

The Demon Hunting Festival is considered one of the most sacred festivals of the Da Yue Empire.

Moreover, most attendees are elite from various tribes — warriors, people of considerable status — naturally, Ye Luo couldn’t put on any prince-like airs; with merely four followers, he arrived at that vast plaza.

This was an extremely rugged construction; massive beast bones and hides surrounded it, without any sturdy walls, just a chaotic pile of stones forming a simple barrier.

And here lies the Da Yue Empire’s very famous Demon Beast Plaza!

Legend says this Demon Beast Plaza has existed for tens of thousands of years, back when the Da Yue Empire hadn’t even been founded but was merely a scattered situation!

So, despite development in the Royal City now, this Demon Beast Plaza remains unchanged.

...

”Huh, what kind of beast’s bone is this, being so giant?”

Ye Luo looked at the enormous skull in front of him, somewhat shocked!

This skull was gigantic, beyond Ye Luo’s imagination; just the skull alone stood a hundred meters tall!

Then, how massive must the behemoth’s body be?

”Reporting to Prince, this beast is the giant Meng beast, one of the largest demon beasts within the Da Yue Empire’s territory! Please do not underestimate the giant Meng beast, its skin is tough, and it is extremely powerful. Usually, wherever it resides, within a radius of thousands of miles, humans and beasts are scarce! It is absolutely an overlord-level demon beast!”

An overlord-level existence!

Ye Luo was slightly shaken. The Da Yue Empire has its traditions; they classify demon beasts by soldier level, general level, overlord level, king level, and the most formidable overlord level!

Five levels; moreover, throughout time, not just overlords, even at overlord-level, demon beasts have never faced resistance, therefore seeing the skull of an overlord-level beast here was quite unexpected for Ye Luo.
