Wilderness Survival with Druid System

This pack of wolves wandered over here.

The territory of the wolf pack is very large, and they do not live in one place for long periods.

Instead, they migrate according to the abundance of food.

This pack of wolves came chasing the herd of deer.

Of course, they are chasing the reindeer herd, not the moose.

For most wolves, they may never eat a moose in their lifetime, as hunting moose can be quite difficult.

When not particularly hungry, the wolf pack will not choose to hunt these giant beasts.

They prefer smaller reindeer or white-tailed deer.

Or bison, which is similar in size but clearly clumsier.

But this pack of wolves has eaten moose before, and they know how delicious moose can be.

The main thing is, they have been hungry for nearly ten days.

Wolves can endure not eating for ten days or half a month.

Although they won’t starve to death, they will be hungry.

”Eat, eat in large chunks.”

Chen Wen kindly rubbed the fur of the lead wolf, just like playing with a puppy.

The lead wolf was somewhat dissatisfied, but at this moment, Chen Wen was already the true leader of the wolf pack.

It didn’t dare to make any moves.

Besides, with such a big piece of meat, being petted a couple of times was acceptable!

The lead wolf even actively nudged Chen Wen’s hand.

After Chen Wen sat to the side, it and its mate began to eat.

The two wolves crouched at the chest area cut open by Chen Wen, tearing large chunks of moose meat.

After tearing it off, the lead wolf raised its head and swallowed the meat chunk directly.

”Holy crap! They don’t even chew? Aren’t they afraid of choking?”

Chen Wen, feeding the Golden Eagle fresh deer meat, couldn’t help but comment.

The Golden Eagle remained silent, just devouring.

Watching for a while, Chen Wen realized the wolves really don’t chew!

They just swallow!

Curious, he walked to a wolf waiting for the lead wolf to finish eating and opened its mouth.

This wolf was so nervous, its tail tucked under, not knowing what this new leader intended to do.

After examining for a while, Chen Wen made a surprising discovery.

Wolves can’t move their lower jaws sideways.

They lack the ability to chew.

”Wolfing down, gulping, man, this phrase is really fitting!”

Chen Wen clicked his tongue watching the lead wolf’s eating motions.

After releasing the pitiable wolf, Chen Wen sat back.

The lead wolf ate quickly and a lot.

After they were full, the black lead wolf howled, and the second wave of eating commenced.

These were all tall and robust adult wolves, holding their heads high.

The way these fellows ate was even more outrageous, each with their rear sticking out, almost wanting to bury their heads into the moose’s abdomen.

After these wolves finished eating.

It was time for the young wolves.

The half-grown ones eat everything they can.

As growing young wolves, these guys consumed the most.

Lastly, the pups and elderly wolves.

In the past, there wasn’t much left for these guys to eat.

This large drawback of the wolf pack often left them with nothing but leftovers.

But today was different.

The new leader—Chen Wen stated: eat, eat it all! Eat in big chunks, hot chunks!

A few wolf pups were eating enthusiastically, as if they had been reborn from starving ghosts.

Though the old wolves had poor appetite, they still stared at the moose’s rump, taking a few big bites.

Seeing that all the wolves were satiated and it was getting late, Chen Wen spread his wings to leave.

Seeing Chen Wen was about to leave, the lead wolf originally intended to follow.

But was reluctant to leave the remaining food.

Seeing this, Chen Wen simply signaled the lead wolf to stay.

The lead wolf roughly understood Chen Wen’s intent and led the others to drag the moose carcass into the woods.

They were going to rest there.

After marking the spot, Chen Wen quickly returned while it was still daylight.

...

Meanwhile, with the program crew.

The first batch of rescue personnel had already entered.

According to the last information from the camp staff, they planned to cross the ice surface of the Yukon River, go directly through the mining tunnel to find the mountain lake.

But they couldn’t speed up at all.

Dogsleds were slow, and it was inconvenient to travel at night.

For Belmont, this wasn’t a good thing.

However, the only comforting thing was that due to his excellent public relations skills, the program issue hadn’t spread much.

Moreover, Pat, as a high official in the Yukon, was helping to cover up the matter.

Additionally, the foreign government had a relaxed attitude, leading most officials to be unaware of the situation.

As for ordinary people, apart from the residents of the small town, most didn’t know that a large group of people had lost contact.

Many weren’t even aware that a program was being filmed here.

The Yukon’s notoriety was still relatively low; only hikers would pay attention to the situation here.

At this point, Belmont couldn’t help but admire the wisdom of his ancestors.

This ghostly place, sparsely populated and all wilderness, provided a high probability for the gold mine to remain undiscovered.

After all, few around the world paid attention to this place.

...

In the camp.

The past two days Hua Yun had been hanging out with Jenny and doing quite well.

But today she noticed that the camp’s atmosphere seemed different.

People were not exactly panicked, but rumors were rampant.

Particularly rumors about treasure.

As a known secret, everyone knew there was a treasure of considerable value hidden in the lake.

But as there were sightings of a demon, even an evil incarnation of wisdom,

The staff began discussing whether the treasure was cursed.

Some even said the two from back then came back to life and became ghosts guarding the treasure.

To Hua Yun, these absurd claims were easily dismissed, yet many accepted them.

”I thought only you Chinese believed in such things.”

Jenny listened to the mercenaries’ discussions nearby and looked at Yang Feng.

Yang Feng tutted: ”Superstitious people are everywhere, okay? Don’t you foreigners still believe in the flat earth theory?”

”Speaking of.”

Hua Yun said: ”Do you know about Ailao Mountain in our country a while back?”

The three conversed in Chinese, Jenny’s accent wasn’t perfect, but she could understand Mandarin.

”I know all about the Ailao Mountain thing, a blogger went into the mountains.”

Yang Feng said: ”I heard they discovered a lot of things and even mentioned dragons in the water.”

Jenny also added: ”Yes, yes, I heard about it too, and later I even saw news about the spirit clan entering the sea. Do you really have such things in Hua Country? Those people sounded very convincing.”

Hua Yun shrugged: ”No one has any concrete photos, so no one can be sure, but personally, I don’t believe it.”

”But you see, what we superstitious about are mysterious forces and oddities, and you foreigners believe in demons and gods. We’re all the same, so don’t point fingers.”

Jenny nodded, indeed that was true.

”However, it seems the gold is about to be found.”

At this time Yang Feng remarked: ”Do you think Chen Wen has any intentions for the gold?”

Hua Yun didn’t respond directly: ”He seems to need money.”

Yang Feng noticed this and asked mysteriously: ”Do you know where he is now?”

”Who knows, I was going to ask you too, how did he escape? You slept next to him, didn’t you feel a thing?”

Hua Yun looked at Yang Feng.

Yang Feng laughed awkwardly: ”How should I know? I was sleeping deeply and vaguely heard some noise, tried to open my eyes, but my eyelids wouldn’t cooperate, and the sounds weren’t loud. I thought someone just turned over, didn’t think much of it.”

”Who would’ve guessed when I opened my eyes the next morning, the door was open, and Chen Wen was gone.”

Hua Yun didn’t respond at hearing this.

But she pretty much figured out how Chen Wen escaped.

Most likely, he used the Golden Eagle or lynx, maybe even both.

That’s how he successfully escaped.

But in the struggle for gold, the lynx and company might not be any help!

What is Chen Wen really thinking?
