Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Simple lies are easy to see through.

But lies that mix truth with falsehoods are hard for most people to detect.

The people in the dark belong to the majority.

Soon, accompanied by the sound of footsteps.

Chen Wen saw a familiar face emerge, flushed and somewhat greenish.

He roughly recalled that this seemed to be one of Mr. Belmont’s trusted men, one of the two standing behind him at the welcome banquet.

What was his name, Chen Wen really couldn’t remember.

Foreign names have too low a recognition factor for Chen Wen.

Jiao carefully scrutinized Chen Wen and Hua Yun, then said to those behind him, ”Yes, these are the contestants who haven’t been eliminated.”

”Very well.”

With heavy footsteps, a group of foreigners in windbreakers emerged.

The entries ”Ultimate Vision” and ”Dynamic Vision” were used to the extreme by Chen Wen.

He was observing these people, trying to gather more information.

After glancing at them, Chen Wen found that they were clearly divided into two groups based on their outfits.

One group was from the program crew, wearing the same black windbreakers as Chen Wen and his team — provided by the sponsors.

The other group was wearing silvery-white windbreakers.

The ones in silvery-white windbreakers were holding weapons.

There weren’t many guns, mostly hunting rifles, no handguns seen, though they might be hidden.

Many of them had bulging waists.

Most were holding knives, daggers, axes.

Chen Wen suddenly closed his eyes; he had overused the entries.

Tears began streaming down.

Actor mode Chen Wen activated.

Crying while putting on an act, Chen Wen said to Jiao, ”Are you with the program crew? Oh my God! I’m going crazy! Finally found you! When can we leave? I shouldn’t have trusted my agent! He lied to me! Damn it!”

While venting, Chen Wen continued, ”Are all these people with the program crew? My God! Thank you for staying here in such weather, I’m so moved!”

This display left the mercenaries bewildered.

Hua Yun kept her head down, afraid her mouth would curl up.

Honestly, even at this seemingly dangerous moment where one misstep could mean a bullet.

She didn’t feel particularly nervous.

Jiao was a bit confused, he had seen everyone’s performances.

But now, what was this?

Weren’t these two living the most comfortably?

Why do they seem...

Could something have gone wrong later?

Jiao began to doubt himself.

After a long silence.

In the mercenaries, someone sighed, ”He’s a man full of emotion!”

”Yeah, but his survival skills seem lacking.”

”Haha, like you could do better, in this crappy weather, even with ample supplies, it’s hard to hold on, right?”

”Alright, everyone quiet down!”

A relatively thin middle-aged white man stepped out.

He seemed to have some authority, as his words brought silence.

The middle-aged white man looked at Chen Wen’s tear-streaked face, unsure what to say.

If Chen Wen and Hua Yun had resisted, he had plenty of means to show them how to behave.

But seeing their pitiful state, especially Chen Wen’s dirty face.

The middle-aged white man refrained from intimidating them and instead waved them off, saying, ”Alright, since you’ve encountered us, you might as well consider your damned days over.”

”Help these people move supplies, don’t be afraid, don’t worry, you’ll be fine.”

Saying this, even the middle-aged white man felt a bit puzzled.

Damn it, I’m a mercenary who kills without blinking an eye!

Why am I speaking in such a tone?

In the end, the middle-aged white man attributed it to Chen Wen’s tragic appearance.

Certainly not because of their irregularity.

Even though they’re mercenaries, these people aren’t the kind that slaughters on the front lines; they handle logistics and similar tasks.

They’re more like auxiliary troops.

And their financial situation wasn’t great.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t have come to this place to earn money.

Initially, they didn’t even know about the gold.

They came only for the hardship pay from Pat.

Very little; legitimate mercenary groups wouldn’t even consider it.

That’s why they had the opportunity.

To be honest, Chen Wen didn’t expect to win these people’s trust so easily.

But seeing that the other side only took away their weapons and let them blend into the program crew’s team.

Chen Wen was somewhat in disbelief.

They bought it?

I didn’t even get to enact the rest of my plan!

And seeing the group in silvery-white windbreakers, Hua Yun was full of emotions.

The world is truly like a massive makeshift troupe.

These people appear organized, but their overall quality is too low.

...

After being incorporated into the team, Chen Wen and Hua Yun followed the group handling materials.

The supplies were mainly heating devices and fuel, naturally, with a large stockpile of meat.

Chen Wen, along with a strong white man, carried what seemed to be half a slab of beef, walking in the middle of the group.

While walking, Chen Wen quietly asked the white man, ”Buddy, what’s happening now? Where are we going? Where’s the program crew? Who are these people in white clothes?”

The white man, seeing no one was paying attention, succinctly told Chen Wen, ”We’ve been captured by kidnappers. We’re heading to the mountains. We haven’t been able to contact the program crew. These white-clad people are the kidnappers, they seem to be a mercenary group.”

Chen Wen was stunned.

Wow, this guy really tells everything!

He quickly asked again, ”Are these robbers strong? Do they have many weapons?”

”Extremely strong! Our guards didn’t even notice them before they subdued us. I’m not sure about their weapons, but they have many guns.”

Chen Wen nodded.

He noticed some mercenaries looking over and immediately acted exhausted.

Unexpectedly, a mercenary came over and indicated for Chen Wen to carry something lighter.

Wow, they’re truly good people!

Chen Wen couldn’t help but think.

...

Trudging through snow for about half an hour.

Chen Wen noticed they had reached the base of a large mountain.

Why come here?

Chen Wen was puzzled.

But soon, his doubts were resolved.

Led by the mercenaries, an entrance bearing human modifications appeared before Chen Wen.

This is... an abandoned mine?

Chen Wen watched as people entered one by one, feeling curious.

When his turn came, Chen Wen carried two barrels of gasoline into the entrance.

It was indeed a mine!

Inside, Chen Wen’s gaze was drawn to the wooden frames on both sides.

These frames are fixed structures used exclusively in mines.

Moreover, there were signs of human extraction on the surrounding tunnel walls.

Of course, the marks were quite old, only faintly visible.

Why suddenly enter a mine?

Could this mercenary group intend to mine gold?

But this place looks like it was hollowed out by old Yukoners!

These guys don’t know how to strike while the iron is hot?

Chen Wen couldn’t help but think.

Suddenly, Chen Wen heard faint voices ahead.

He looked up and realized they were exiting the mine.

Upon exiting the mine, Chen Wen saw two familiar faces.

Jenny, Yang Feng.

These two were circling a campfire, seemingly cooking.

As he wondered, he spotted two more familiar faces.

Hank, Ludwig.

They were slicing vegetables.

Wow, these four were kidnapped too!

Judging by the looks of it, they’re the kitchen crew.

Chen Wen passed the four with the crowd and continued onward.

Next, a very rudimentary camp came into Chen Wen’s view.
