The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

”Old Yuan is Yuan Hao, why don’t you spar with your brother first, to see who the real ’Old Yuan’ is?”

He Zhiqian rolled his eyes at Yuan Mei, shattering the image of a legal elite.

He Tiantian watched the childhood friends bantering, and the atmosphere instantly relaxed.

However, when they arrived at the studio and formally signed the contract with Feng Jing, He Zhiqian quickly regained his legal expert demeanor.

He carefully read through the contract, ensured there were no loopholes or hidden clauses, then nodded to He Tiantian and Yuan Mei.

Feng Jing: ... It really is an impressive array, not only is there an ”assistant” this time, but also a lawyer. And not just any lawyer, but the undefeated General in the lawyer circle!

Is this really necessary for just a small film contract?!

Grumbling slightly, Feng Jing grew even more certain that He Tiantian was indeed no ordinary girl.

A lawyer like He Zhiqian can’t be hired with money alone; it takes a certain level of connections.

That He Tiantian managed to get He Zhiqian involved already indicates something significant.

Waiting two or three months was worth it!

”He Tiantian, pleasure working with you! I hope you turn in a compelling performance once you join the group!”

After signing the contract, Feng Jing extended his right hand.

”Thank you, Director, for this opportunity. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely put in my best effort!”

He Tiantian extended her right hand and shook hands with Feng Jing.

...

Shanghai Film and Television Park.

”Teacher Fu, I heard the female lead finally joined the cast!”

In a nanny van, Film Emperor Fu Shaojing’s assistant whispered as he helped tidy his makeup.

”Sigh, I wonder what kind of background could allow a month’s delay in joining!”

”I heard she was inserted by the capital, and the script was specially modified for her!”

”When we first took this drama, it was an ensemble cast with three male leads and women merely as eye-candy, decorations!”

”But now, she directly came in as the female lead...”

The assistant chattered on, sharing gossip he heard from the crew members.

”Modified the script for her specifically?”

Fu Shaojing raised an eyebrow; he’s the Film Emperor and the acting pillar in the entertainment industry, as well as a box-office draw.

But Feng Jing’s fame and status are even higher.

Thus, when he initially accepted the script, he only received one-third of it, which contained only his scenes and interactions with the other two male leads.

He hadn’t seen the rest of the more complete script.

When they joined the cast at the year’s end, Fu Shaojing chatted with the other two male leads during breaks.

They were in a similar situation, none of them had a complete script.

This is Feng Jing’s rule.

Also, Feng Jing likes to adjust the script on the fly.

Nonetheless, he really has the ability; the films he makes receive praise and are commercially successful.

Though this is his first time shooting a spy drama—the media and fans are generally not optimistic about such films—there’s significant hope riding on Director Feng.

And Fu Shaojing and the other two notable actors also signed the contract readily, even if they hadn’t received the complete script, out of respect for Feng Jing.

Good or bad, you can tell from reading the script.

The quality of the script becomes apparent after a few days of shooting.

They’d been on the cast for over a month already, without stopping even for Spring Festival, and the film was halfway filmed.

And now a ’female lead’ gets inserted in mid-production.

Tsk tsk, it sounds like a result of Director Feng compromising with capital.

This parachuted insider might become the film’s sole unstable factor.

A movie won’t necessarily flop because of one role, yet it will have significant influence.

Fu Shaojing suddenly felt a bit worried.

The movie type is already challenging to excel at, and then here comes a big-shot with questionable acting ability...

Not just Fu Shaojing, even the other two male leads are feeling uneasy.

”Sister Seo, can you find out who the female lead is? Is there really someone that influential now, causing even Director Feng to yield?”

In another nanny van, newly crowned top idol Wu Kai curiously asked his manager.

He’s twenty-one years old, debuted from a youth idol group, and post-debut he didn’t just focus on singing, dancing, and rapping but actively studied acting.

Among new traffic idols post-2000s, he’s notably capable in acting.

Being able to take part in Director Feng’s film and as a leading protagonist with significant scenes, aside from capital and traffic factors, his still-passable acting was why Director Feng eventually agreed.

With sixty million fans across the internet, he’s a top-tier star; his company and fans have made considerable efforts to secure a contract with Director Feng.
