The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

”Alright! Alright, I’ll confirm the time on my end and then let you know!”

Director Feng was very pleased with He Tiantian’s response.

”Okay, Director Feng!”

He Tiantian nodded and exchanged some New Year’s pleasantries.

After a few words, she hung up the phone.

”What’s up? Still busy during the New Year?”

Yuan Mei wasn’t really asking about He Tiantian’s whereabouts; she was simply curious.

”Director Feng Jing is preparing to shoot a movie. I auditioned for it last year, got through, and now, with the script polished up, I’m supposed to take another look!”

He Tiantian didn’t hide anything and explained everything straightforwardly.

Yuan Mei is her ”assistant” and has been by her side 24/7 recently.

So, even if He Tiantian didn’t say anything, Yuan Mei would still find out.

Now that Yuan Mei asked, He Tiantian readily shared, sparing herself from future speculations and hassle.

”Shooting a, a movie?”

Yuan Mei was taken aback. To her, He Tiantian was just a genius young researcher.

She would believe it if He Tiantian were attending some events at Capital University.

But now?

Shooting a movie? That’s a huge leap!

However, when Yuan Mei’s gaze fell on He Tiantian’s delicate face, she couldn’t help but find it understandable—

Such a beautiful young girl with such expressive eyes, wanting to venture into the entertainment industry, seems quite reasonable.

Having been by He Tiantian’s side as an assistant for a few days, Yuan Mei had been more focused on He Tiantian’s intellect, neglecting her age and looks.

Now, hearing about the movie, Yuan Mei suddenly realized that He Tiantian is just a 17 or 18-year-old girl. With her outstanding appearance, dreaming of becoming a superstar is perfectly normal.

It’s just—

Sigh, the gap between a genius researcher and an everyday girl chasing dreams in the entertainment world is truly vast!

Yuan Mei was momentarily at a loss.

Moreover, although Yuan Mei didn’t know exactly what He Tiantian was researching, the attention from the higher-ups showed her that He Tiantian’s contributions to the country must be significant!

You could even call her a National Treasure Girl without exaggeration!

This kind of talent shouldn’t be hidden away, but neither should it be thrust into the spotlight.

Additionally, the entertainment industry... ahem, it’s not that Yuan Mei is biased, but the reality is that some parts of it are indeed chaotic.

Apart from the so-called hidden rules, there’s also the intense scrutiny from the public and online trolls.

Once too exposed to the media, He Tiantian could easily become a target.

Those online trolls don’t care about He Tiantian’s contributions to the nation; they will go to extreme lengths to vilify an innocent girl.

All sorts of vile words and unbearable slander can be difficult even for outsiders to endure.

And yet, He Tiantian’s achievements cannot be disclosed, and her accomplishments can’t be made public by the authorities, making her vulnerable to potential harm.

If possible, Yuan Mei hopes He Tiantian won’t step into the quagmire of the entertainment industry but rather, under the protection of the National Daddy, quietly focus on her research and study well at university!

”Yeah! It’s quite interesting. When I was little and watched movies, I thought how great it would be if I could also appear on the big screen?”

He Tiantian seemed oblivious to Yuan Mei’s surprise and reluctance, following her heart and speaking cheerfully.

”Acting in movies, becoming a star, experiencing various lives is indeed pretty nice!”

Seeing the sparkle in He Tiantian’s eyes, Yuan Mei couldn’t bear to dampen her spirits.

But she couldn’t help but add a ”but,” ”The entertainment circle and all, seems a bit messy. Even though I don’t follow celebrities, it’s clear that today’s fan culture is really terrifying!”

”Not only are there internet trolls, but also crazy fans. All that ranking drama, flaming wars, the hostility is just too heavy!”

Under the manipulation of capital, the atmosphere of the entertainment industry has deteriorated significantly.

Especially some young fans whose wild actions can be frightening!

Due to her military service, Yuan Mei rarely paid attention to entertainment gossip.

But living in the ”short video era,” even Yuan Mei would browse her phone during her downtime, becoming aware of some entertainment news.

Reading those reports in the news, Yuan Mei couldn’t understand it and found herself quietly alarmed.

But back then, entertainment seemed far away.

Yuan Mei was at most just a passing spectator.

Now, the person she’s supposed to protect is going to shoot a movie, and Yuan Mei can’t help but worry.

After spending a few days together, Yuan Mei felt that He Tiantian was just a very pure, very kind-hearted girl.
