The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

”Prince Consort? Haha, what’s this about the Prince Consort? They want to be one, but there’s no Princess willing to marry down!”

Seeing Feng Mingtang so open-minded, Zhou Rujin loved him even more and completely placed him at the forefront of her heart.

What outsiders think, Zhou Rujin couldn’t care less.

But now, even her own father treated Feng Mingtang this way, and Zhou Rujin felt a bit upset.

As a sensible and filial daughter, Zhou Rujin couldn’t blame her own father.

So she was slightly resentful towards He Xiutian.

Of course, Zhou Rujin wouldn’t intentionally make things difficult for a nanny; she just couldn’t bring herself to be too close to He Xiutian.

Even after Zhou Rujin gave birth and during the postpartum confinement and child-rearing, Mrs. Feng couldn’t resist jumping out to cause trouble.

Zhou Rujin was made emotionally and physically exhausted, nearly suffering from postnatal depression.

During this difficult time, it was the diligent and attentive care from He Xiutian, mediating between Mrs. Feng and Zhou Rujin, that rescued her.

Zhou Rujin completely saw Mrs. Feng’s true colors.

As for Auntie He Xiutian, Zhou Rujin fully trusted her and cared for her greatly.

Just at this time, the vain Zhao Yan began to cultivate an image as a rich and beautiful girl.

Because He Xiutian worked more frequently at Zhou Rujin’s villa, Zhao Yan claimed her family lived in the North City wetland villa.

She even seized the opportunity during her visits to ”see” He Xiutian, stealthily taking pictures of the villa when Zhou Rujin wasn’t noticing, then boasting about it back in her dormitory.

Out of appreciation for He Xiutian’s contributions, when the seasons changed, Zhou Rujin would sort through her wardrobe. Whenever she found clothes still with tags but already out of season, she would give them to He Xiutian.

Zhou Rujin was the Eldest Princess of a wealthy family, and the clothes she wore were basically designer brands.

Even if they were out of season, they could still fetch a price on the second-hand market.

He Xiutian was reluctant to wear them herself, and also wanted to make her daughter presentable, so she gave the clothes to her daughter.

Zhao Yan, already racking her brains to maintain her rich and beautiful girl persona, found the designer clothes from He Xiutian to be very timely and appropriate.

These clothes further fueled Zhao Yan’s vanity.

As it progressed later, she became dissatisfied with merely getting out-of-season clothes.

She once again made use of He Xiutian, sneaking into the Zhou family’s villa and opportunistically taking a few bags or pieces of jewelry that Zhou Rujin didn’t particularly care about.

Zhao Yan was very discreet in her actions, so much so that even He Xiutian was unaware of it.

It wasn’t until two or three years later, when Zhao Yan had incurred a huge debt from a high-interest loan and came crying to He Xiutian, that He Xiutian found out.

He Xiutian felt struck by lightning, utterly ashamed.

Though poor and lacking ability, she had always lived a life of integrity.

At the Zhou Family, she was conscientious and upright.

Facing those exquisite and luxurious items every day, she had never entertained any improper thoughts.

It was precisely because of this that Zhou Rujin trusted her more and more, entrusting the entire household to her.

Yet her daughter had committed such theft from their employers; on learning the news, He Xiutian couldn’t hold it in and slapped her daughter several times.

The notion of theft was even more intolerable than incurring a loan shark debt.

But, no matter how much she blamed her daughter for being disappointing, the deed was done, and He Xiutian had no choice but to find a remedy.

She firmly ordered Zhao Yan to return the stolen items.

Frightened by her mother’s first-ever outburst, Zhao Yan dared not delay and promptly returned those bags and jewelry.

The jewelry was alright, with minimal wear and tear.

As for the bags, because Zhao Yan frequently flaunted them and wanted to project a nonchalant disdain for such luxury items, she didn’t take very good care of them.

One Hermes bag had noticeable scratches.

Seeing the condition of the bag, He Xiutian couldn’t help herself, giving Zhao Yan two more hard slaps.

After working at Zhou Rujin’s house for three years, she fairly understood this wealthy Eldest Miss.

Zhou Rujin wasn’t a harsh person; she was generous, but the one thing she couldn’t tolerate was deceit!

Thus, after some thinking, He Xiutian came up with a plan: she would go confess to Zhou Rujin.

As long as she apologized sincerely and showed utmost humility, Zhou Rujin surely wouldn’t hold it against her.

However, He Xiutian was still a step too late.

Zhou Rujin, having a sudden whim, went to the closet to look for a brooch and accidentally discovered something missing from the cabinet where she stored her bags.

He Xiutian: ...

Although she was still found out, there’s a difference between confessing voluntarily and being forced to confess.

He Xiutian directly knelt before Zhou Rujin, explaining everything in full detail.
