The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Character setting, my dear!

Once the character setting collapses, Zhao Yan, a character in this novel’s world, is very likely to suddenly awaken.

By then, the novel world will still face the danger of collapsing.

Student Xiao D: ...Ah, how did I forget about this?

Shaking their small round body, Student Xiao D asked somewhat embarrassedly: ”Then, what should we do? Do you plan to continue being a nanny like the original character?”

Wouldn’t that just be repeating the same old path?

For Zhao Yan, it would lead to greater self-loathing — though labor is honorable, there is still occupational prejudice in society.

Zhao Yan is vain, insecure, and not strong enough inside. Her real mother working as a nanny did provide her with sufficient living expenses.

But when asked about her mother’s occupation, she doesn’t dare to tell the truth.

Nanny, a job specializing in serving others.

Though it shouldn’t be discriminated against, it’s also not something to be highly praised or admired.

Anyhow, Zhao Yan feels that those who vocally proclaim ”labor is the most glorious” don’t actually want their daughters to become nannies.

He Tiantian’s eyes flashed, she already had a plan in mind, but it required more scheming.

However, there’s no rush to tell Student Xiao D about this.

Just then, a hypnotic ”Free Flying” started playing loudly in the narrow rental room in the city village.

The sound was very loud and the music was powerful, which made He Tiantian jump from the sudden blaring ringtone of the counterfeit phone.

Oh, truly an ordinary middle-aged woman, with a knock-off smartphone, exhibiting a popular ensemble. If not for the original character’s financial struggles, she might have even been doing a square dance.

Bitterly complaining in her heart, He Tiantian fished her phone out from her pants pocket.

She glanced at the caller ID, ”Xiao Zhang from the Household Services Company”.

He Tiantian, having merged with the original character’s memories, naturally knew the time node of her time-traveling —

The original had only been in the Provincial City for less than two months after following her daughter there, already doing work like a cleaner, a general worker at a fly restaurant, and a brick-carrying lady at construction sites.

During casual chats with her coworkers, she learned that being a nanny could earn quite a lot, with food and lodging included!

The original was tempted, quit the short-term jobs, and took what money she had saved over those one or two months to enroll in training at the largest and most reputable domestic center in the Provincial City.

This ”Xiao Zhang from the Household Services Company” was the staff member who dealt with the original.

Matters related to training, employment, and so on would also be handled by Xiao Zhang.

The original had already undergone a two-week training at the household services center and passed the basic assessment, allowing her to serve families.

Of course, if she wanted better work opportunities, the original needed to take some certification exams.

However, these required work duration and specified registration times.

The original wasn’t eligible yet and couldn’t wait any longer, wanting to start working immediately, gain experience while earning money.

Now, Xiao Zhang was calling, likely having found a suitable client and informing her to go for a home interview.

Indeed, upon pressing the answer button, He Tiantian heard a warm female voice from the receiver, ”Aunt He, there’s a teacher living in the Faculty Dorm of A University who needs a live-in nanny to care for an old lady!”

”The requirements aren’t very high; no need for certificates as a nutritionist or child-care worker. As long as you can cook, do the elderly’s laundry, and bathe them, it’s enough!”

Xiao Zhang briefly introduced the client’s requirements.

This client’s situation suited ”He Xiutian’s” conditions well.

After all, back when the original went to the household services company, she repeatedly emphasized, ”I can cook, I can do laundry. I’m not afraid of hard work or dirt. As long as someone wants me, I’ll work hard!”

Such a guarantee may not seem effective, but it does express the original’s urgency and sincerity.

”Okay! Alright! Xiao Zhang, thank you so much!”

He Tiantian listened to Xiao Zhang’s introduction, imitating the original’s tone, with joy in her voice, repeatedly thanking her.

On the other end of the line, Xiao Zhang couldn’t help but smile gently upon hearing ”He Xiutian’s” response.

She knew that for Aunt He, it’s exactly the kind of job she needed the most.

”The old lady is advanced in age, with some geriatric diseases, but she is capable of self-care, so there’s no need to worry too much, Aunt He!”

Xiao Zhang added a remark.

But He Tiantian could hear the underlying meaning in Xiao Zhang’s words: and because of that, the pay won’t be particularly high!

The elderly lady can move on her own and doesn’t require too professional qualification credentials, so they just need a nanny meeting the basic requirements.

The salary, naturally, is around the average.

Of course, given ”He Xiutian’s” current situation — lacking money, desperate for employment, and without any other certification — securing such a work interview opportunity is already quite rare.

”Alright, I understand, I’m willing to give it a try! Xiao Zhang, thank you so much!”

He Tiantian continued, in a tone like the original’s, with an eagerness mixed with a bit of humility and ingratiation...
