The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

A few minutes later, the ambulance roared to a stop at the staff dormitory of University A.

With the help of onlookers, the paramedics lifted the unconscious Professor Qiao onto the ambulance.

Even though He Tiantian had no relation to Professor Qiao, as the first person to discover his condition and the one who called for help, she still went along.

Besides, she had a reason she couldn’t avoid—

Before Professor Qiao lost consciousness, he clung to her coat like a drowning man grasping at straws.

Feigning helplessness, He Tiantian got into the ambulance with the paramedics.

Among the crowd was a neighbor of Professor Qiao, who had a good relationship with him. Knowing that Professor Qiao had no close family and feeling uneasy, the neighbor followed as well.

The people who stayed behind did not disperse immediately.

Some called the school leaders, and others rushed home to ride their scooters quickly to the nearest hospital from their dormitory.

The very place where the ambulance was taking Professor Qiao!

”Where’s the family? Hurry up and sign the surgery consent form, then go pay the deposit!”

A nurse came out of the emergency room, holding a clipboard, and shouted down the corridor.

He Tiantian deliberately appeared flustered and quickly waved her hand, ”No, no, I’m not family. I just happened to pass by and helped out of kindness!”

She was about to cry, her face full of ”It’s got nothing to do with me! I have no money! Don’t come to me!”

Fortunately, the neighbor who came along stepped forward quickly and said: ”Nurse, we’re teachers from University A. Old Qiao, oh, the patient’s family, aren’t around!”

”But don’t worry, our school’s leadership will arrive soon. Save the patient first, and the leaders will handle the signing and expenses!”

When the nurse heard that the patient was a professor from University A, she wasn’t as anxious anymore.

In fact, even if she didn’t know the patient’s identity, judging by his outfit alone, she could tell his living conditions were decent.

His clothing and shoes might not be high-end brands, but they were of good quality, clearly not cheap.

And that watch on his wrist, a classic Rolex Green Ghost, would cost tens of thousands, definitely not someone who would default on medical bills.

Nevertheless, the nurse still asked the neighbor to sign first, so the doctors could proceed with the surgery as soon as possible.

The neighbor hesitated briefly before signing.

The nurse took the clipboard and went back into the emergency room.

By this time, the relevant leaders of University A had received the news and rushed over.

”How is it? How is Professor Qiao?”

He wiped the sweat from his forehead, urgently asking the neighbor.

The neighbor gestured toward the emergency room and whispered, ”I helped sign the surgery consent, the doctors have started the rescue. Oh, right, Director, this lady here was the first to discover Old Qiao and even called for help!”

The neighbor didn’t forget to mention He Tiantian while speaking to the leadership.

”Oh?”

The leader glanced at the lit-up emergency room, knowing that Professor Qiao was receiving treatment, and felt somewhat relieved.

He turned his gaze to He Tiantian, who continued to maintain the appearance of the original character—

A middle-aged woman who had never seen the worldly experience, helping out of her kind instincts in such a sudden situation.

However, when the nurse shouted ”sign the form” and ”pay the deposit” earlier, it seemed she just realized she might have gotten herself into trouble.

Her face was filled with panic, an innate fear showing through—don’t involve me, it’s got nothing to do with me! I’m just a Good Samaritan, please don’t blame me!

He Tiantian’s acting was so convincing, vividly portraying the kindness and conflict of an ordinary person.

Seeing He Tiantian’s expression, the leader was very understanding.

He softened his tone, forced a smile, and said gently to He Tiantian, ”Ma’am, thank you so much. You’ve saved our Professor Qiao!”

”Rest assured, we are teachers at University A, and there are surveillance cameras installed in the dormitory. No one will falsely accuse you!”

Alas, nowadays, the atmosphere has been spoiled by those bad people.

Ordinary people, even if kindhearted, don’t dare to do good deeds easily for fear of being falsely accused by some evil-doers.

This middle-aged woman in front of me probably just realized and is regretting her ’impulsive’ act.

Upon hearing the leader’s words, He Tiantian clearly breathed a sigh of relief.

She tried to return a smile, but perhaps being too nervous, her facial expressions weren’t quite controllable, looking like she couldn’t decide whether to smile or cry.
