The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

It was as if Zhou Rujin had been ”cursed” by Feng Mingtang. Facing such greedy and calculating members of the Feng Family, she couldn’t help but furrow her brows.

She was wealthy, putting aside her expansive family business. Even during her college years, she started her own company and made several investments.

Her personal assets had long reached a high figure that others might struggle to earn in a lifetime.

As a genuine wealthy person, Zhou Rujin was best at using money to solve problems.

She also didn’t quite like the Feng Family’s Parents, but she couldn’t bear parting with her feelings for Feng Mingtang and didn’t want to vent her anger on Feng Mingtang.

She thought, it’s just spending some money, it’s not like she can’t afford it, so why bother arguing with people lacking worldly experience?!

However, after she took a step back, she didn’t receive gratitude or satisfaction from the other party; instead, she fueled their arrogance — this woman can’t leave their son, so why act courteously with her?

Demanding money, a house, arranging a job, transferring the child to another school, and so on; Zhou Rujin could endure it all.

What surprised and was most unacceptable to Zhou Rujin was that the Feng Family’s Parents, or rather Mrs. Feng, who dealt with her, took out the style of reprimanding her by Mother-in-law.

She actually lectured Zhou Rujin on the Feng Family’s rules!

Men are heaven, women are earth; women serving men is only natural;

Once married, women belong to their husband’s family and must continue the family line;

And so on...

Zhou Rujin found it laughable yet absurd, with a tingling sensation on her scalp.

Because she realized that Mrs. Feng spoke without jest and with utmost seriousness, truly believing her words were golden rules and genuine truths!

Terrifying!

Absolutely terrifying!

It’s already 201X, how could there still be people with such an antiquated mindset?

Zhou Rujin indeed loved Feng Mingtang, and for him, she defied her parents’ wishes, forcing them to compromise.

However, she was also a proud, independent, and strong woman.

She had read countless books, built her own career, and even if she didn’t aspire to be a Queen, she wouldn’t stoop to becoming an ”Evil Nanny”, would she?

She suddenly understood what her father had said to her, realizing that by not arguing with two inexperienced rural folks, they saw her as weak and easily bullied.

Zhou Rujin backed down, not wanting to spend her life embroiled in conflicts with her parents-in-law.

She truly loved Feng Mingtang, not wanting him trapped in a dilemma between wife and parents.

Once things reached that point, even the most innocent and passionate love could be worn away, and she and Feng Mingtang were very likely to become a resentful couple!

Zhou Rujin didn’t want her and her lover to reach a breaking point, nor did she want them to end up unrecognizable to each other.

So, it’s best to forget it!

As Zhou Rujin became disheartened, Feng Mingtang seemed to suddenly realize his parents’ actions.

He rushed to Zhou Rujin, apologizing and pouring out his heart, earnestly pledging, ”Rujin, don’t worry, leave mom and dad’s matters to me!”

Seeing Feng Mingtang’s sincerity moved Zhou Rujin.

After all, he was the man she truly cared for, the partner she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. If problems could be solved, she didn’t want to break up with him.

Thus, Zhou Rujin decided to give Feng Mingtang a chance.

Seeing Zhou Rujin’s softened attitude, Feng Mingtang breathed a sigh of relief and hurried back to ”persuade” his parents.

There’s no knowing what the three of them discussed behind closed doors.

The next day, Mrs. Feng awkwardly approached Zhou Rujin, apologizing dryly, saying, ”I haven’t seen much of the world and don’t understand the new rules outside. But Mingtang’s told me everything. Rest assured, I won’t interfere in your affairs anymore!”

To prove they weren’t making empty promises, Mr. and Mrs. Feng moved out of the house Zhou Rujin bought for them, even purchasing tickets back to their hometown.

They’re just waiting for Zhou Rujin and Feng Mingtang to marry so they can leave the Provincial City!

As for the rules, Mrs. Feng didn’t mention a single word.

Even seeing her precious son being all tender and attentive in front of Zhou Rujin, she neither made a face nor spoke sarcastically.

The three sisters-in-law who echoed Mrs. Feng and the gang of rowdy kids were also taken away by Mr. and Mrs. Feng.

Seeing the Feng Family like this, the soft-hearted Zhou Rujin completely changed her mind.
