The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Yes, it’s possible!

When Emperor Yongcheng heard the story of ”beating the Dragon Robe” at that instant, he really did have doubts and felt Zheng Nianer was alluding to him.

But when he calmed down and his rationality returned, he realized: impossible! Absolutely impossible!

He had to be the Empress Dowager’s own flesh and blood, otherwise, given Empress Dowager He’s forceful and shrewd character, she would never do something as stupid as ”making wedding clothes for someone else.”

For the sake of power, Empress Dowager He could indeed shove a Concubine Son onto the throne as a Puppet Emperor.

But in that process, she absolutely wouldn’t pour out her heart and soul, much less rack her brains thinking only for the Emperor’s sake.

Emperor Yongcheng was not unaware of how good Empress Dowager He was to him; he just pretentiously felt that all this kindness was forced on him, was a way to control him.

He Tiantian: ...What the hell kind of char siu logic is this?!

Emperor Yongcheng did indeed reject and even resent his own biological mother, but from childhood to now, he had never doubted his parentage.

Because aside from a legitimate mother, no one would devote themselves to him the way Empress Dowager He did.

Not to mention all the things when he was small, just looking at how Empress Dowager He acted regarding Emperor Yongcheng taking the reins of government, she deserved to be called a ”loving mother”!

She was even more motherly than Empress Lv and Empress Dou, and did not let power cloud her mind.

Emperor Yongcheng was unwilling to admit it, but he would not completely deny it either.

However, Zheng Nianer’s story was just too ”tempting.”

Once it was ”confirmed” that he had another birth mother, Empress Dowager He would only be a legitimate mother, a mother in name.

If on top of that there was some sort of ”killing the mother” blood feud... then he could legitimately shake off Empress Dowager He’s control.

In terms of status, he owed Empress Dowager He, but—but he could make it up to her in secret.

As long as Empress Dowager He no longer posed a threat to him, Emperor Yongcheng would sincerely treat her as his real mother and be filial, letting her enjoy her twilight years in comfort.

...All of it was merely so that he could more smoothly take full control of the court.

”When parents love their children, they plan for them far ahead!”

If Empress Dowager He truly loved this son of hers, then she ought to fulfill his wish, right or not?

Emperor Yongcheng already had made up his mind, but he still deliberately put on a ”shocked and doubtful” expression and excitedly pressed Lady Hu to tell him the truth of that year.

Lady Hu, of course, understood everything in her heart, but she still deliberately showed a troubled look.

In the end, ”forced with no way out,” she spilled the truth.

She even said, ”Although that Noble is no longer alive, the palace maid who served her is still living. That old fellow in my family has already found her and properly settled her on a manor in the outskirts!”

There’s even a witness?!

Emperor Yongcheng’s eyes flickered; a certain thought in his heart seemed to grow wildly like weeds.

He stared fixedly at Lady Hu for a long time before finally saying faintly, ”Wet nurse, you’ve kept me in the dark so bitterly!”

Hearing Emperor Yongcheng say this, Lady Hu and Zheng Nianer, mother and daughter, both secretly let out a sigh of relief: It worked!

”Tiantian! Something big is going to happen! Something really big is going to happen!”

Student Xiao D secretly peeked at this scene, the whole little furball trembling with excitement.

It hopped over in front of He Tiantian, yelling at the top of its lungs.

He Tiantian was still holding the Zhu Sha, continuing to annotate memorials. She was completely unfazed by Student Xiao D’s harassment.

”My god, the Emperor is just too stupid. A lie like that, and he believed it so easily!”

Seeing He Tiantian unresponsive, Student Xiao D kept jumping up and down while shouting exaggeratedly—

”Oh, no no no, he’s not stupid, he’s char siu, he’s a bastard! He—he’s fearless because he thinks he has backing! He’s taking you for granted—oh no, I mean he’s taking the original host for granted!”

”Using his status as the ’only one’ to play all kinds of schemes against his own mother, he really did inherit that Scumbag Dad’s lousy genes!”

”Tiantian! Tiantian, listen to me, they’re going to pull something on the Holy Birthday Festival!”

Hearing that Student Xiao D was about to spoil the most exciting episode, He Tiantian finally broke her silence: ”Stop! Don’t say it!”

Student Xiao D: ...The ”secret” that was about to burst out of its mouth just—just got stuffed back down!

”No way, Tiantian, you—you really aren’t curious?” I’m begging you, just let me say it.

Otherwise, I’m seriously going to die from holding it in.

He Tiantian: ...You’re a system, why are you so into Eight Trigrams?

Even though with Student Xiao D around, He Tiantian wouldn’t be too lonely even in ancient times...

The problem was, this idiot was way too noisy.

”Student Xiao D, after we renewed our contract, I unlocked a new function of the system, you wanna give it a try?”

He Tiantian put down the Cinnabar pen, rubbing her temples as if massaging them, actually just leisurely bickering with Student Xiao D.

”A new system function?”
