The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 1304: Chapter 485: Palace Schemes vs. Rebellion (Part 22)_3

As for the impression Empress Dowager He left on her, it was formidable, like someone who strategized masterfully.

She isn’t an evil female supporting character, and certainly not a dispensable NPC. Smack her in the face?

Ha, isn’t that just asking for trouble?

But... gaining ten pounds? Oh no, please no!

She could do without ”Phoenix Flying and Dancing” anyway; she never aspired to be Zhao Feiyan.

But she really doesn’t want to gain ten pounds.

Her current figure is perfect, already reaching the novel’s description of ”an extra ounce is too fat, a little less, too thin.”

Gaining ten pounds?

Zheng Nianer thinks about it and feels distressed.

Maybe, just, give it a try?

The little voice in Zheng Nianer’s heart couldn’t help but pop up, cautiously suggesting.

Zheng Nianer gritted her teeth: If we’re going to try, let’s try. It’s just a little test. Could Empress Dowager He really beat me to death?

However, just at this moment, a female voice suddenly rings in Zheng Nianer’s ear:

”Alright, Noble Consort Zheng, you may withdraw now!”

Huh?

Withdraw?

Her counterattack hasn’t even started, nor has there been any face-slapping, and she’s being told to ”retreat”?

Zheng Nianer feels a bit dumbfounded and also has a vague sense of unease.

However, Zheng Nianer is the female lead, so her mind reacts quickly — if the Empress Dowager tells her to retreat, and she doesn’t, that should count as a ”counterattack”?

As for whether it’s face-slapping, uh, as long as it displeases Empress Dowager He, the system should be able to make some concessions!

Yes!

That’s it!

Zheng Nianer’s eyes lit up, ready to take on the airs of an arrogant favored consort and launch a ”counterattack.”

As a result, she didn’t even get a chance to adopt Princess Consort Hua’s arrogant demeanor before Empress Dowager He directly stood up, supported by the nanny beside her, and returned straight to her chamber.

She, she just left, just like that!

Not even sparing a glance at Zheng Nianer.

Zheng Nianer was completely stunned, wishing she could reach out like Er Kang: Dear, don’t go! At least let me refuse!

He Tiantian: ...I’d have to be crazy to give you the chance to ”smack face.”

Student Xiao D: ...Even as the female lead, you can’t play ”palace intrigue” with a half-step villain!

It’s just that Tiantian feels a bit sorry for Zheng Nianer at the moment, and Tiantian’s usual principle is to avoid any entanglement with the male and female leads as much as possible.

Even when dealing with the male lead, Tiantian only operates behind the scenes, never openly making things difficult for him.

As for Zheng Nianer, He Tiantian wouldn’t target her deliberately either.

Otherwise, He Tiantian wouldn’t even need to concoct an excuse — one palace rule would be enough to torment Zheng Nianer into silence!

”Ding! Task failed—”

A mechanical voice rang out coldly.

He Tiantian, having taken more than a dozen steps away, heard it clearly.

Additionally, she also heard Zheng Nianer desperately pleading with the system in her mind: ”System Father, please give me a chance. Don’t let me gain ten pounds!”

”Oh, right, isn’t there a remedial task? I beg you, system! How about giving me a remedial task?”

The voice was pitiable, as if about to cry.

Clearly, Zheng Nianer was very concerned about the punishment of ”gaining ten pounds.”

He Tiantian paused. How quickly Zheng Nianer had become accustomed to relying on the system!

For the so-called ”remedy,” she even pleaded tearfully with the system.

Wasn’t Zheng Nianer an independent, strong modern woman?

How had she so quickly become — well —

He Tiantian gently shook her head, sighing internally.

”Ding! Remedial task issued: Smack Empress Tao in the face. No rewards for task success, task failure results in a ten-pound weight gain!”

The mechanical voice seemed to be moved by Zheng Nianer, pausing slightly before issuing a ”remedial task.”

Having not yet moved too far away, He Tiantian naturally heard these words.

She shook her head even more. That so-called ”Palace Fighting System” seemed deceptively ”humane,” not so dogmatic, not so harsh on the female lead.

But in reality, it continued step by step to guide and tempt the female lead, leading her to thoroughly depend on the system, becoming its most loyal slave.

This female lead... was no longer the confident, independent modern woman she once was.

Perhaps, the rogue wild system had forcibly dimmed her intelligence.

Or perhaps, the palace fighting system used a vast amount of temptation to lure out the most genuine character within the female lead!

Nonetheless, whatever the case, it was unrelated to He Tiantian.

She had already given the female lead a chance; what happens to the female lead in the future, He Tiantian was powerless to change.

”Tiantian, I’m going to have a look!”

He Tiantian wasn’t interested in the cliché storyline like ”smacking Empress Tao in the face,” but Student Xiao D was brimming with interest.

Palace intrigue drama, right!

This wasn’t a TV show but a real, live performance!

Hehe, it must be especially thrilling.

Student Xiao D, a little fluffball, had totally turned into a small Eight Trigrams...
