The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 1078: Chapter 410: My Husband Is the Supporting Male Character (Part 9)_2

”Ah, let’s not talk about this!”

Seeing He Shu’s silence, the Main Lady mistakenly thought that her words had upset her daughter.

She quickly wiped away her tears with a handkerchief, forcing a smile and changing the subject, ”Alas, I should have brought you back earlier. That way, you could have attended the Eldest Princess Zhang Ning’s flower appreciation banquet yesterday!”

”It’s all that Third Girl’s fault, really, even after getting married, she doesn’t know how to restrain herself. On the wedding day, Prince Qi drank a bit too much in his joy and couldn’t consummate the marriage with her—”

The Main Lady was talking about family matters and couldn’t help but express her grievances and dissatisfaction when mentioning ”Third Girl.”

He Shu’s eyes flickered.

Zhou Jin was helping her vent her anger?

Purposely making He Tian lose face on her wedding night?

He Shu was smart, and she knew Zhou Jin very well, knowing his affection and regard for her.

Thus, pretending to be drunk to avoid consummating the marriage was something Zhou Jin would do.

Imagining the usually arrogant He Tian ending up rejected by her husband on her wedding night, He Shu felt it was a bit unkind, but she still wanted to say: She deserved it!

”Did Third Sister get laughed at? So, did she run back to the Marquis Mansion to cause a scene?”

He Shu quickly pieced it together after hearing the Main Lady say ”should have gone to the temple to pick you up two days ago,” and then ”it’s all that Third Girl’s fault,” and linking it to He Tian being rejected on her wedding night, He Shu’s first thought was that He Tian became the laughingstock of the noblewomen in the capital.

And He Tian, being someone who couldn’t stand grievances, liked Zhou Jin, and dared not make a fuss in front of him, so she would run back to the Marquis Mansion to cry.

With He Tian causing trouble at the He Family, they naturally forgot to bring He Shu back from the temple.

It seemed like she was ”implicated” by He Tian again, but this time, He Shu only felt a sense of relief.

”... Well, she wasn’t laughed at!”

The Main Lady was a little troubled, not knowing how to explain the events of the past two days in the capital.

As a woman, the Main Lady really couldn’t understand the behavior of the Third Miss of the second branch.

If it were the Main Lady, unable to consummate the marriage on the wedding night, she would certainly feel ashamed, blame herself, and swallow the matter alone.

Even if she went back to her parents, she wouldn’t say anything.

Family scandals shouldn’t be publicized, mentioning it would lead to being mocked.

”He Tian” then, not only spoke out but also complained in front of the Emperor.

Tsk tsk~~

”Even His Majesty, he actually indulged like this...”

The Main Lady hesitated repeatedly, but still told He Shu slowly and carefully about the events of the last few days.

”Shushu, you have no idea, the Saint gave each male guest at the wedding a cup of hundred-day drunk.”

The Main Lady’s face was filled with an expression of indescribability.

He Shu’s eyes widened, was He Tian really that fierce?

No, no, that’s not the point!

The point is, the current Emperor trusts He Jing that much?

Even to indulge ”He Tian” so much?

”Those civil servants, dismissing it as absurd in private, still drank the wine and got drunk for a whole day!”

”Those military generals close to your Second Uncle, however, were all elated, drinking the imperial bestowed hundred-day drunk and still not satisfied, went to the Marquis Mansion to drink with your Second Uncle!”

At this point, the Main Lady’s tone carried a hint of disdain and disapproval.

Perhaps because He Jing was too sickly, the Grand Madam did not select a general’s daughter for him, but rather a young lady from a scholarly family.

The Main Lady, being well-educated and a widow, valued the rules greatly.

Thus, in the eyes of the Main Lady, the recklessness of He Jing’s comrades was rudeness, lacking decorum.

In the past, when He Jing was stationed outside for many years, the house wouldn’t be too chaotic.

But in the past two days, because of a cup of hundred-day drunk... the Marquis Mansion has been in an uproar.

Those who got drunk would still go to the training field to shout and fight.

The noise was such that, through several courtyards, the Main Lady could hear the commotion.

”Originally, your grandmother wanted to bring you back the day before yesterday, but I stopped her!”

The Main Lady said in a deep voice, ”Shushu, you’re not like that Third Girl. She can shamelessly make a fuss in front of a group of men, but you must adhere to the rules!”

Although she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, the Main Lady had heard from a maidservant—

”The Third Miss, oh no, must now be called Princess Consort. Upon hearing that those generals and marquises came to drink with the Great General, the Princess Consort happily brought Prince Qi to join in the fun!”

”... Those generals like the Princess Consort very much, saying she is a General’s daughter! They also said it was a pity she was born a daughter, otherwise, she would’ve been a mighty general on the battlefield!”

Listen to that!

Is that appropriate?

Not to mention the Third Girl is a woman, just consider her current status.
