The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 1064: Chapter 405: My Husband Is the Male Supporting Character (Part 4)_3

Indeed, just as the female lead feigned anger and cried out, ”He Shu, why are you wearing my wedding dress,” He Shu appeared from behind the screen, cradling the bright red wedding dress.

She was still wearing her own clothes, and the wedding dress showed not a single crease, clearly untouched.

”Third sister, I think I should not try it on! This is your wedding dress after all. Although you insisted on having me try it, I still can’t wear it!”

He Shu seemed unaware of the sudden gathering outside, and with an apologetic tone, she spoke as she came out from behind the screen.

Watching the female lead’s exaggerated acting and listening to He Shu’s words, how could the elders of the He Family not understand?

The Eldest Madam He, He Shu’s own mother, immediately wiped her tears and kept murmuring, ”Marquis! Marquis!”

The marquis she was referring to was not the current Marquis Nanning, He Jing.

But her deceased husband, the former Marquis Nanning, the esteemed elder of the He Family, He Jing.

The Grand Madam of He Family was initially just annoyed by the female lead’s antics, but hearing her daughter-in-law’s sobbing made her suddenly realize: the female lead was deliberately scheming against her own cousin.

The Grand Madam naturally felt more affection for He Shu, who lost her father at an early age and had always been gentle and sensible.

Seeing the female lead recklessly acting out and He Shu’s innocent and pitiful demeanor, her heart leaned further towards He Shu.

”Nonsense! Tiantian, bullying your sister is one thing, but how could you use the important wedding dress to harm someone?”

The Grand Madam was not only angered by the female lead’s foolishness but also appalled by her granddaughter’s stupidity.

If one truly wants to frame someone, the trap should be better set.

But she did poorly, creating a farce that fell apart at a mere poke, truly foolish.

Such a girl would bring disaster to her family when married off.

”How am I causing trouble? Even if I asked He Shu to try on my wedding dress, if she didn’t secretly desire it, why would she have sneaked into the embroidery room?”

The female lead’s otherwise troubling intelligence finally came through.

Her malicious plot was discovered on the spot, and the elders all showed disappointment and dissatisfaction in their eyes.

Frustrated and anxious, the female lead suddenly thought of this point.

She shouted at He Shu, ”He Shu, tell them yourself, did I bring you to the embroidery room, or did you sneak in yourself?”

He Shu: ...

What could she say?

She had indeed been curious and sneaked into the embroidery room.

But she also knew such talk should not be said.

If spoken, her perfect image would be tainted.

Though she only peeked, the action itself was inappropriate.

Lying to deny?

He Shu was not yet capable of lying blatantly.

She chose to remain silent, gently placing the wedding dress down and approaching her mother.

Helping her mother wipe away the tears while quietly shedding tears herself.

”You, why don’t you speak? If you say nothing, does it mean you admit it?”

The female lead was straightforward, most annoyed by He Shu’s silent tearful display.

Yet to the others, the scene appeared as though the female lead was overly domineering, and He Shu was oppressed, clearly wronged yet too afraid to speak up.

Even the female lead’s own mother, Ma Family, felt uneasy.

A protective mother, she usually doted on her daughter.

But this scene was too, too evident, and with the Grand Madam present, Ma Family found it difficult to resolve the issue too favorably for her daughter.

The atmosphere suddenly became awkward.

It was He Shu, silently crying for a while, who held her mother’s hand and raised her head to address everyone, ”Indeed, today’s event, I did lack consideration.”

She wasn’t lying, as sneaking a peek at someone else’s wedding dress out of curiosity was somewhat disgraceful.

Others, however, misconstrued He Shu as meaning she knew full well her cousin was a domineering, unreasonable person but still obediently followed her to the embroidery room.

”Coincidentally, my father’s memorial is approaching, I wish to go outside the city to Jingyue Temple to transcribe the filial scriptures for my father.”

She was actively seeking punishment for herself.

Seeing her obedient and wronged appearance, the Grand Madam and Eldest Madam felt an overwhelming sympathy.

Even Ma Family felt some remorse.

Only the female lead failed to see the cleverness of the heroine and instead brazenly shouted, ”Yes! She should be punished by going to the temple to properly reflect! Who told her to covet my wedding dress?!”

The Grand Madam: ...This child, such disgraceful behavior!

Ma Family couldn’t help closing her eyes: ...Alas, her own daughter truly was too overbearing.

He Tiantian was left utterly speechless.

The female lead remained smug, believing that sending He Shu to the temple fulfilled her goal to torment He Shu.

Little did she know, from this incident, even Ma Family wanted to properly compensate He Shu.

Not to mention Prince Qi, who fancied He Shu and upon hearing the news, made a note against the female lead in his book.

Pretending to be drunk on the wedding night was Prince Qi’s first move to relieve He Shu’s grievances...
