The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 1052: Chapter 401: A Fortuitous Encounter (Part 3)

”As it happens, my eldest sister really likes our daughter, so she took the child back—”

He Shengli’s words, although still somewhat suspect of evading the birth policy, did have a bit of truth.

His colleagues and neighbors might have suspected, but since they neither abandoned the child nor broke the policy, they turned a blind eye.

Reflecting on the past, He Shengli felt a bit guilty.

But this guilt was fleeting; soon he thought: I may have had the idea of abandoning this useless girl, but I never acted on it.

I handed her over to my sister and continued to provide financial support for over a decade, which would definitely be considered fulfilling my duty.

Compared to those truly irresponsible parents, my wife and I have done much better.

It’s just that He Tiantian is too ungrateful; instead of being thankful, she treats us as enemies.

Hmph, she’s just a cold-hearted troublemaker by nature!

”Anyway, she has nothing to do with us from now on! It’s not that we don’t want her, but she thinks she’s grown up, thinks she’s tough enough to challenge her parents—”

The more He Shengli thought about it, the angrier he got, and his words grew harsh.

”She doesn’t understand the hardships of life yet. Just wait, she won’t even need to wait for the future; just during this New Year, she’ll regret it!”

He Shengnan followed her brother’s lead, gritting her teeth as she said, ”On New Year’s Eve, while other families are reunited and joyful, she’ll be all alone in her dormitory with no home to go to. Let’s see if she regrets it!”

He Shengnan was definitely projecting her own feelings onto others.

In the past decade, when she was taking care of her unlucky niece, everyday life was manageable, but during the New Year, she felt particularly miserable.

Other women had husbands and children, a happy and sweet family.

And what about her? She could only guard a rundown supermarket with a vexing nuisance and had no one to care for her.

Although she did become a mistress, deep down, she longed for a normal family life.

She valued the New Year very much, so she assumed that He Tiantian would naturally care about it too.

”... But regretting is useless! In two more months, she’ll be eighteen, and we’ll have no obligation to support her. Even if it goes to court, I’m not afraid!”

Because He Tiantian had asked for all her support payments before turning eighteen, He Shengli might not remember his own daughter’s appearance, but he remembered her birthday—March 5th.

It’s already mid-January; in less than two months, He Tiantian will be an adult.

At that time, He Shengli will have a legitimate reason to abandon this ungrateful and defiant brat.

As for how she’ll go to university, find her footing in society, or if she’ll regret it in the future, He Shengli couldn’t care less!

”She deserves it!”

He Shengli cruelly thought to himself.

Of course, if He Tiantian really realized her mistakes and came begging, He Shengli wouldn’t be completely heartless.

As long as she obediently listened, He Shengli wouldn’t mind arranging a future for her.

She’s already eighteen, just two more years until she can marry. His sister even said that although this ungrateful girl has no heart, she’s quite beautiful.

If she’s directly married off in the county, the bride price could fetch tens of thousands.

He Shengli didn’t really need the money, but after spending over ten years raising a daughter, he needed to recoup some of his investment.

He Tiantian: ...

She didn’t know what schemes her so-called real dad had in mind, but if she found out, she’d definitely reply with a ”haha.”

Then there would naturally be nothing more after that.

The convenient real dad even said she’s eighteen and an adult.

No one could dictate her life, let alone manipulate or control it!

However, these were all matters for the future.

At this moment, in response to Zhou Zixuen’s goodwill, He Tiantian replied with a smile, ”No need, I have plans for the winter break!”

She still had to attend the winter camp at Capital University.

It lasts two weeks, and afterwards, she could stay in Capital City. The research facilities there are much better than those in the Provincial City.

He Tiantian could completely seize the opportunity to develop the Genetic Enhancement Liquid 2.0 and directly hand it over to the country.

”Brother Xuan, thank you. When I have the chance in the future, I’ll visit your hometown!”

He Tiantian met Zhou Zixuen’s mom and heard Mrs. Zhou speak with a Shanghai accent, so she mistakenly thought Zhou Zixuen’s ”hometown” was Shanghai.

As it turned out, when the winter break officially began, and He Tiantian was dragging her suitcase to the Provincial City airport to catch a flight, she unexpectedly encountered Zhou Zixuen, who also had Capital City as her destination.

Zhou Zixuen: ...

He Tiantian: ...

The pair of good friends exchanged smiles, then arm in arm, they boarded the plane together...
