The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 777: Chapter 310: Snatched the Female Lead’s Opportunity (Part 8)

The web series Sister Hua mentioned to Li Xinhua is adapted from the online novel ”My Corpse Examiner Lady.”

It tells the story of a family that has been involved in corpse examination for generations, but only had three daughters, unable to continue the legacy.

Just when the old forensic doctor was thinking of adopting a nephew or adopting an orphan, the youngest daughter stepped forward and said, ”Dad, I can!”

Without a doubt, the youngest daughter is a modern time-traveling woman who was a forensic doctor before she traveled through time.

After time-traveling, she knew she had arrived in a fictional dynasty where the expectations for women weren’t too strict, but respectable families’ daughters still weren’t allowed to touch criminals or dead bodies.

The youngest daughter is a forensic doctor with the independent and strong mindset of a modern woman.

She didn’t want to be trapped in the inner house but wanted to do what she loved.

In the modern era, her choice of forensic science as a profession was motivated by her desire to ”allow the dead to rest in peace, and the living to be relieved.”

Having come to an ancient era in a parallel universe and finding herself in a forensic doctor’s family, she felt more than ever that this was fate’s arrangement and she couldn’t let down such an opportunity!

However, she still had to consider social conventions.

So, the youngest daughter disguised herself as a man, claiming to be the old forensic doctor’s distant nephew, and started learning the craft from him before inheriting his position at the Yamen.

The male lead is a constable from Six Gates in Capital City, who happened to come to Prefecture City for a case and made contact with the female lead.

Misunderstandings and jokes abounded, and the two became comically at odds with each other.

Through their continued interactions, the male lead uncovered the female lead’s secret, became increasingly enamored, and eventually formed a beautiful matrimonial bond.

This is a historical romance drama with crime investigation at its core, interspersed with several cases that could be made into individual episodes, making it easy to shoot sequels or to ”water down” the series.

The careers and love story of the male and female leads are the main plotline, while each case forms a small unit and is like an independent short story within itself.

Every story has an important supporting character.

Li Xinhua had secured for He Tiantian the role of the Female Supporting Character in one of these units—the male lead’s little junior sister.

The male lead is a constable from Six Gates, a term that originally referred to one of the ancient three divisions of the Yamen.

But in novels or films, constables from Six Gates have a special implication—they are unique individuals who navigate between the government and the Itinerant World.

They’re tasked with balancing conflicts among Itinerant World factions, capturing important fugitives, and maintaining relations with various renowned sects, holding significant status both in the court and the Itinerant World.

Some of them are born into noble families of reputable sects, while others are the progeny of government officials.

They are officials with a bright and clear identity, yet they often deal with Itinerant World sects, familiar with the rules of ”the path.”

They encounter all sorts of strange cases, not having to adhere strictly to the Yamen’s laws, handling disputes with flexibility.

They are individuals from the court within the Itinerant World and representatives of the court among those from the Itinerant World.

A good Six Gates constable is a boss who has clout in both the underworld and the lawful world.

And a bad Six Gates constable is a henchman, a despicable sort shunned by the great heroes of the Itinerant World!

Since the male lead is the Protagonist, he naturally comes from a noble family within the reputable sects, a thoroughly righteous character indeed.

The male lead has a little junior sister who is innocent and endearing but also has incredibly high Martial Arts skills, transforming into a cold and aloof assassin when facing an enemy!

Such a setting makes the little junior sister irresistibly charming because of the contrast.

The role itself is quite good, and if played well, will surely shine!

As the vehicle arrived at the audition address, Li Xinhua had already thoroughly explained the general outline of the script and the character of the little junior sister to He Tiantian.

”The role of the little junior sister really suits you!”

As Li Xinhua spoke, she became very excited herself.

Having seen He Tiantian’s fluid Martial Arts firsthand, she felt more than ever that this role was tailor-made for He Tiantian.

”Sister Hua, don’t worry, I’ll definitely perform well and try hard to land this role!”

He Tiantian, sensing Li Xinhua’s emphasis on this web series, knew it must be a great opportunity.

She stated her intentions earnestly.

”...” However, Li Xinhua was not so optimistic.

He Tiantian had a good appearance and knew Martial Arts, but there was one complication—she had never acted before.

In terms of acting skills, Li Xinhua had no expectations anymore; he just hoped that He Tiantian could be as natural in front of the camera as she was during the photo shoot the day before.

Stiff expressions and body language definitely wouldn’t work.

But overacting, pulling faces, and making contrived attempts at cuteness wouldn’t work either.
