The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 557: Chapter 231 My Son is a Treacherous Official (Part 7)_2

”What’s so good about being a concubine? Isn’t it more respectable to be the main wife rather than someone’s concubine?”

”Student Xiao D, you must not forget that Sixth Lady Tian also had a tragic end in the original plot.”

”If I let her follow the plot, it would really harm her!”

Informing her about the harshness of societal hierarchy, letting her recognize her own status, and then marrying well and leading an ordinary life was truly the best destiny.

”Perhaps, Sixth Lady Tian genuinely liked He Xi.” It’s ”True Love”

Student Xiao D couldn’t help but interject.

”What does it matter if she likes him? In the Daxia Dynasty, although it’s legal to be a concubine, it’s also legal for the main wife to beat and sell the concubine. A concubine’s son is naturally lower than a legitimate son, this too aligns with the laws and customs!”

He Tiantian indifferently said, ”Besides, what Sixth Lady Tian likes isn’t He Xi, but the luxurious life!”

Being the most similar to the original host’s niece, it wasn’t hard to guess Sixth Lady Tian’s thoughts: lazy, vain, pleasure-seeking, and likes to take shortcuts!

She keeps saying she likes her cousin, but it’s not the cousin himself she likes, but the comfort and wealth he can bring her.

Student Xiao D choked, shook his fluffy little body, and didn’t say anything more, rolling back to his corner to stay there.

Seeing that Student Xiao D had calmed down, He Tiantian didn’t bother with him anymore and began to sort out her thoughts.

The time she arrived wasn’t good or bad; her son had already conspired with Prince Consort Guo’s Deputy General but had not yet acted on it.

However, she couldn’t wait much longer.

Estimating the time, probably in another three months, when the Hulu again invade the borders, and Prince Consort Guo leads the army to attack, the tragedy of the Guo family would begin.

Even though there were still three months left, He Xi had already gone astray.

He Tiantian must quickly steer everything back on track.

...

”Commandery Princess, your knees are already bruised, even if you don’t call for the Imperial Physician, you should go to the Imperial Hospital and get some White Jade Ointment.”

An Kang returned to her courtyard, and as soon as she entered her room, she was supported by her close servant Da Ya and brought to the Buddha-bed.

Da Ya carefully lifted An Kang’s skirt and trousers to reveal her bruised knees, marked with shades of green and purple.

Seeing these fierce bruises, Da Ya’s tears fell.

Her hands trembled slightly, she wanted to check the wounds but was afraid of hurting her mistress, eventually, her hand remained suspended in mid-air.

With a choked voice, she said, ”Such a large area of bruising, this slave worries it might leave marks.”

Their princess was so prestigious, who never even had a scrape since her childhood, but marrying into the He Family for only five years, she frequently had bruises.

Every time they saw bruises on the princess’s body, these slaves felt both heartache and indignation.

Their mistress was a dignified princess, even more favored by the Empress Dowager and Saint than many princesses.

Married into the He Family, even if not pampered and adored by her husband’s family, they shouldn’t mistreat her like this.

It was indeed more pitiful than those noble ladies married into poor families!

”It’s alright, just apply a warm cloth, and it’ll be fine!”

It wasn’t the first time her knees had turned blue and purple, An Kang wasn’t too alarmed.

Compared to the physical pain, what truly hurt her were the emotional wounds.

An Kang didn’t hold a grudge against her mother-in-law for grinding into her; what she really cared about was her husband’s attitude.

Result—

Sigh, mistook a werewolf for a good man, and now with two children, even if she wanted to regret, it was too late, she could only grit her teeth and keep going.

Moreover, her mother-in-law was too good at acting, even the Empress Dowager and Empress said she was a fragile, kind-hearted good person.

Their implications were clear: although Ms. Hetian was from a humble background, she had a very good temperament. Having such a good mother-in-law was also An Kang’s good fortune.

An Kang:... Thank you, I really don’t need such good fortune!

However, she only dared to say such words in her heart.

Suffering grievances in her husband’s household, manipulated by an acting skilled mother-in-law, she could only swallow her complaints.

When the Empress Dowager or Empress asked, she still had to forcibly smile and speak well of her husband and mother-in-law.

Firstly, she was naturally timid, having grown up in the Imperial Palace, she had developed a habit of ”not daring to trouble others.”

Secondly, she feared being ridiculed. With such a noble status and several backers, if she let others know how she lived, there was no doubt they would laugh at her.

Not to mention the noble ladies in the capital, but even the cousins within the Imperial Family.

Because she was too favored, she had already attracted the jealousy of many princesses and commandery princesses.

These people would create trouble without cause; if they caught her ”vulnerability,” they might not know how to further humiliate and ridicule her.
