The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 430: Chapter 189: Second Entry into the Martial World (Part 9)

On that day at the Beggar Gang convention, Wenren Jie did not become the Beggar Gang Leader.

Because he was already the Master of Carefree Pavilion, the elders and squad leaders were wary of him.

Instead, it was his maid Zi Yi who, with her tricky poison needles, killed several challenging squad leaders and successfully snatched the position of Beggar Gang Leader.

Wenren Jie knew that Zi Yi was unwaveringly loyal to him; having her as the Gang Leader was no different than if he held the position himself.

Perhaps, it would be even more convenient.

Thus, Wenren Jie hinted to Gongsun He to help Zi Yi to establish a firm footing in the Beggar Gang.

Without He Tiantian’s involvement, there was neither a New nor an Old Beggar Gang, just a unified Beggar Gang.

Under Wenren Jie’s influence, Gongsun He and Zi Yi, in the name of the Beggar Gang, challenged Jade Villa.

This new Beggar Gang Leader, Zi Yi, wanted to take the position of Martial Arts Alliance Hierarch from the current holder, Pei Jinghou.

At the foot of Jade Villa, Gongsun He and a group including Zi Yi ran into Wenren Jie.

Seeing her ”Lord” whom she hadn’t seen in a long time, Zi Yi’s longing was evident.

She attended to Wenren Jie with great eagerly, the respectable Gang Leader serving like a maid to someone completely unrelated to the Beggar Gang, the Master of Carefree Pavilion!

This was the first disgrace of the Beggar Gang.

Later, at Jade Villa, Zi Yi repeatedly tarnished the century-long prestige of the Beggar Gang, leaving nothing behind.

He Tiantian had once entered the Martial World and served as the daughter to the New Beggar Gang Leader Tian Dan, leading the New Beggar Gang to fight against the enemy forces, so she had special feelings for the Beggar Gang.

After leaving the world of the novel, her feelings from that world would be stripped away, but subconsciously, He Tiantian still had a natural fondness for the Beggar Gang.

After all, despite its flaws, the Beggar Gang’s very existence was to protect the most pitiable and lowliest of the weak.

To bring together a group of beggars whom everyone despised, forming a powerful force, not only allowed the weak to huddle together for warmth and mutual assistance but also to do things for the country and the people.

He Tiantian felt that such a gang deserved respect.

As for Zi Yi, perhaps she didn’t become the Gang Leader of her own accord but was instructed by Wenren Jie and urged by Gongsun He.

Yet Zi Yi wasn’t truly unwilling; she wanted to be someone important, someone who could match her ”Lord” Wenren Jie.

Being the leader of the world’s largest sect truly allowed her to gain face in front of her beloved Wenren Jie.

She enjoyed perks because she was the Gang Leader, but when danger loomed, she didn’t protect the reputation of the Beggar Gang; instead, she personally turned it into a laughingstock for everyone!

Wasn’t this behavior somewhat disgraceful?

Of course, Zi Yi suffered from severe Stockholm syndrome, so she couldn’t be measured by normal standards.

But since He Tiantian had come and even become the Beggar Gang Leader, it was her responsibility to maintain the dignity and reputation of the Gang.

”...Gang Leader, you mustn’t! As the honorable Beggar Gang Leader, how can you humble yourself so before the Master of Carefree Pavilion?!”

Just as He Tiantian was lost in thought, the story ahead quickly progressed to—

Gongsun He and Zi Yi came to a tea stand at the foot of the mountain and happened to encounter Wenren Jie’s entourage, who even in the wilderness maintained an air of nobility.

Finally seeing the young noble she had pined for, Zi Yi couldn’t be happier.

She had already forgotten that day at the Beggar Gang convention when she was poisoned by the venomous woman He Yutian, left for dead, and Wenren Jie left her by the roadside without a second thought.

All she remembered was that, at death’s door, she randomly injected all her refined poison needles into herself.

She didn’t know if she was trying to use the pain to keep herself conscious so she could continue following her young noble,

Or if it was a form of ”fighting poison with poison.”

But whatever the reason, her poison needles had actually worked.

Not only did they restore her health, but they also helped her develop a set of Unique Skills.

Then she met Gongsun He and became the so-called new Gang Leader of the Beggar Gang.

Without delay, Zi Yi wrote a letter to her young noble.

Before long, the young noble replied, expressing his joy at hearing she was well.

Knowing she had become the Gang Leader of the New Beggar Gang, the young noble was even more pleased.

The letter from the noble was brief, but the Divine-level fawning Zi Yi still sensed the noble’s satisfaction in every line.

Content with the noble’s pleasure, Zi Yi was happy.

She then obediently followed Wenren Jie’s commands, actively coordinating with Gongsun He to be a proper puppet leader!

”My noble, I finally see you, Zi Yi pays her respects to you!” Zi Yi, ignoring the reminders from the Beggar Gang Disciples behind her, continued to grovel at Wenren Jie’s feet like a little maid.
