After I Died, the Scumbag Went Mad

Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Asher is Too Good at Teasing

Back home, I coaxed Asher to go to sleep first.

He seemed to have gotten a taste of it and kept playing pitiful, saying he had a fever, his hand hurt, his foot hurt, and that he wanted me to give him a bath.

If he would just behave, that would be one thing, but giving him a bath was such a hassle...

Especially since he kept pushing his luck. Before, he was the one who stripped naked all by himself, but now he’d gotten me completely soaked.

”Sebastian Lancaster!” Drenched by him, I yelled his name through gritted teeth.

”Cece, your clothes are wet. Let’s wash together.” Asher looked innocent, very seriously trying to help me unbutton my clothes.

I slapped the back of his hand and took a deep breath, comforting myself: ’There’s nothing I can do. He’s my husband, my husband, my husband...’

’I’ve spoiled him. It’s all my fault.’

”Cece...”

My phone rang. To keep it from getting wet, I had placed it on a niche on the inner wall of the bathtub.

Asher reached out to grab the phone for me, but after seeing the caller was Julian Fletcher, his face darkened, and his fingers loosened...

I could only watch helplessly as my phone fell into the bathtub. It flickered for a few seconds, then died.

I took a deep breath, my anger flaring in that instant.

Someone had blocked Julian Fletcher’s number before, and I was one hundred percent sure it was Asher.

”Cece... my wound touched the water. It hurts so much. I couldn’t hold on tight. You’re not mad at me, are you?” Asher looked at me pitifully. The gloom in his eyes from when he dropped my phone was gone, replaced by the look of a well-behaved child begging for forgiveness after doing something wrong...

The anger rising in me was, as expected, suppressed by his good looks.

’I’m pathetic, I admit it.’

”Sebastian Lancaster, this is the third phone of mine that you’ve destroyed.” I gritted my teeth, suppressing my anger. ”Next time, you’re not allowed to touch my phone.”

Asher’s eyes reddened. ”Is a phone more fun than me?”

”?” ’Fun?’

I reached to retrieve my phone from the bathtub, but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me in. I ended up sprawling on top of him.

My anger truly erupted in that moment, only to be extinguished with lightning speed by his physique and handsome face.

His skin was very fair, his muscles well-defined. Water droplets clung to him, making him look just like a merman from the deep sea, naive to the ways of the world, emerging for the first time...

”Oh dear, now we have to wash together,” Asher said with an innocent face, the corners of his mouth turning up as he held me in his arms.

I was so angry I tried to push him away, but his body was too slippery, and with one move... we were pressed even more intimately together.

Unable to bear it any longer, I bit down on his collarbone.

Asher’s body stiffened. He didn’t move, neither pushing me away nor resisting.

”You’re angry... still like to bite,” he murmured, then suddenly flipped me over, pinning me in the bathtub.

Water washed over my head. I instinctively held my breath, but he pressed down and kissed me.

’I suddenly felt that this man was definitely not a fool. Who taught him these tricks...?’

He looked so innocent, as if he knew nothing, yet he always managed to make others blush and their hearts race.

”Sebastian Lancaster, you might as well just drown me!” I forcefully pushed him away, gasping for air and shaking my head hard. Water had gotten into my ear.

I glared at Asher, but I just couldn’t vent my anger.

”Just take your bath properly, then go to sleep!”

I threatened him in a low voice, but the threat was useless. He was completely impervious, his hands starting to roam...

Steam filled the bathroom. The scene was, by any measure, not suitable for children.

...

After all that struggling, I only managed to wear myself out. The moment my head hit the pillow, I was overwhelmed with sleepiness.

”Young Master... you must go to the company tomorrow morning.” Outside the door, Assistant Foster was still trying to persuade Asher with painstaking earnestness.

”Not going.” Asher was very annoyed. ”I’m taking Cece for her pregnancy check-up.”

Asher always remembered everything. Every time a check-up was due, he was more punctual than the app on my phone.

I grunted and quickly said, ”You go to the company... I’ll go by myself in the morning.”

”No.” Asher looked down, unhappy. ”Cece, are you trying to get rid of me?”

Helpless, I had no choice but to say, ”How about this? You go to the company tomorrow, and you can take me the morning after, okay?”

It wouldn’t make a difference to wait one day anyway.

Asher kept his head down, remaining silent and sullen.

”Young Madam, the new phone I prepared for you has been placed by the door.” Owen Foster put the phone down and left, his mind at ease.

They had all discovered that Asher only listened to me.

Even I had discovered it.

Yawning, I got out of bed, opened the door to get the phone, inserted the SIM card, turned it on, set it to silent, and then went to sleep.

Asher seemed full of energy, not sleepy at all. He climbed into bed, held me in his arms, and kept playing with my hair.

I really couldn’t be bothered with him anymore. I leaned against his chest and drowsily fell asleep.

I don’t know how long I slept, but I woke up with the urge to use the restroom. I opened my eyes and saw that Asher was still awake.

He was just sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at something in his hand.

I rubbed my eyes, not registering it at first. When I did, my heart skipped a beat. ’Is that the note Lucas Grant gave me? I remember memorizing the contents and the phone number on it before throwing it in a hospital trash can. Why is it in Asher’s hands?’

I walked over to Asher and saw that what he was holding was just a piece of toilet paper.

Breathing a sigh of relief, I whispered, ”It’s the middle of the night. What are you doing up?”

”Going to the restroom.” He looked just as sleepy as I did.

I just said, ”Oh.”

He had probably just woken up too. After all, we had fooled around in the bathtub for so long that we were both dying of thirst afterward. The satisfaction of chugging a glass of water before bed was directly proportional to the annoyance of having to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.

”Cece... I’m scared.” He stuck close behind me.

”?” I looked up at him groggily. ’What’s so scary about going to the bathroom?’

”Cece, do you think souls can follow us around in a form we can’t see?” Asher asked in a low voice.

A sudden chill ran down my spine, and I tightly gripped the corner of Asher’s shirt.

Now, it wasn’t him who was scared, it was me.

Because I knew that souls really could exist in a form we can’t see.

”Cece’s using the restroom, so I should probably go out first,” Asher said with an innocent and serious expression.

At that moment, I felt a cold draft from every corner of the bathroom.

’He seems to know me too well... that I’m a coward...’

Grabbing the hem of his shirt, I whispered, ”Just turn around and don’t look at me.”

The corner of Asher’s mouth lifted. He gave an obedient ”Oh” and turned his back, staying by my side.

I huffed, knowing full well he was scaring me on purpose.

”Do you use all your intelligence just to mess with me?” I muttered under my breath.

Asher didn’t turn back. ”You once asked me, if a genius suddenly became an idiot one day, what’s the one thing in his life that would never change.”

I looked up at Asher, having no memory of this at all.

”Even if I became an idiot, I would still love you just the same.”

Asher’s voice was very soft, so soft that I could barely hear him.

I wanted to ask him to say it again, but he had already lowered his head and fallen silent.

...

「The next morning.」

When I woke up, Asher had already left for the company.

I reached for my phone and saw several missed calls from Madeline Quinn.

”My dear ancestor, you finally picked up,” Madeline Quinn grumbled.

I paused for a moment. ’Madeline... is she calling *Cheng Xi* ”Ancestor” now? Before, she only ever called *me* that.’

”Julian Fletcher had a complete meltdown last night. He was dead set on seeing you, and the doctors couldn’t stop him. He’s so badly injured that his wounds started bleeding again the moment he got out of bed. His attending physician is my senior, and he called me. I told him it’s not like I can euthanize the guy, right?” Madeline Quinn could be really sharp-tongued. ”And guess what? While his wounds were still bleeding, he snuck out when the doctors weren’t looking and ran off.”
