After I Died, the Scumbag Went Mad

Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Asher Is Going to Lock the Door and Kill Someone?

My expression was growing uglier by the second. I looked up at Julian Fletcher. ”Stop talking!”

I was afraid... afraid that Silvia Lynch really did have some connection to the killer, and that she was using these children.

My current identity is Silvia Lynch. If she was an accomplice to a murderer, I wouldn’t be able to escape responsibility.

”Ready to get in the car quietly now?” Julian Fletcher threatened in a low voice.

I gritted my teeth and got in the car, wanting to know what he hoped to achieve by threatening me.

”What do you want?” I asked, looking at Julian Fletcher.

”I’m the only one who can help you. That madman, Sebastian Lancaster, can’t do it.” Julian Fletcher glanced at me, his gaze as cold and condescending as ever.

”I want you to divorce Sebastian Lancaster,” Julian Fletcher said, his voice low.

I clenched my fists. ”President Fletcher, why are you so insistent on my divorce? What are you planning? The baby I’m carrying is a Lancaster.”

I deliberately mentioned my pregnancy to make him back off.

But it only seemed to make him even more frantic. His scorching gaze fixed on my stomach. ”Cece... was pregnant too.”

’He’s terrifying...’ I thought.

In that instant, I felt he was even crazier than Sebastian Lancaster.

”There’s no one left in the Lancaster family. Master Lancaster had a stroke, and Dylan Lancaster isn’t waking up. Who’s going to care about the child in your belly?” Julian Fletcher sneered, grabbing my chin. ”You should be glad you have this face...”

He simply wanted to keep me by his side as a substitute.

”My face? Hah. I don’t look like Erin Whittaker, and besides, she isn’t even dead,” I said, deliberately provoking Julian Fletcher.

His eyes turned cold. ”That is not for you to speculate about.”

I clicked my tongue twice. ’Still as conceited as ever.’

”President Fletcher, were you this calm yesterday when my husband set his dog on you?” I was actually a little annoyed now that Asher hadn’t woken me up to watch.

I really wanted to see an expression on Julian Fletcher’s face other than domineering coldness.

Julian Fletcher was so angry he gritted his teeth, forcing the words out. ”I suggest you be smart about this. In your bid to marry into the Lancaster Family and help the Lynn Family through their crisis, you had some dealings with a murderer.”

’Julian Fletcher must have found something.’

”Are you threatening me?” I stared at Julian Fletcher.

Julian Fletcher reached out and pulled me in front of him. ”You could interpret it that way.”

”And after I divorce Sebastian Lancaster? What do you plan to do then? Use your power and influence to cover for me? If I really were a murderer, harboring me would be illegal,” I said, looking at Julian Fletcher with a sincere and innocent expression.

”That’s not your concern,” he said, warning me to stop talking nonsense.

”Come find me after you divorce Sebastian Lancaster.” Julian Fletcher told me to resolve it quickly.

’I bet he already has a mistress contract drawn up, just waiting for Asher and me to divorce.’

”Harboring a fugitive is a serious crime, you know. Doesn’t that make us two grasshoppers on the same rope now?” I asked gently.

Julian Fletcher frowned, a hint of displeasure on his face.

”President Fletcher should be well aware of how important a CEO’s reputation is to their company, right?” The driver stopped the car near the Lancaster estate, and I got out.

After stepping out, I brandished my phone. ”I recorded everything you just said about covering for me, President Fletcher. If you’re really going to threaten me, then we can just go for mutual destruction. We’re in the same boat now, after all.”

Julian Fletcher’s face darkened for a moment, but his expression remained as placid as ever. His eyes, however, were so grim they looked like they could devour someone whole.

”So, in the future, President Fletcher, you shouldn’t be so quick to trust women.” I smiled, took a step back, and turned to leave provocatively.

’When dealing with someone like Julian Fletcher, you have to give them a taste of their own medicine.’

’People like him are incorrigible unless you teach them a lesson.’

’I used to spoil him too much, letting him act unscrupulously and escalate his behavior, all because of the debt I and my family owed him.’

’Having died once, I’ve figured it out. Anyone can live without anyone else. I repaid my debt to him with my life. Wasn’t that enough?’

In the car, Julian Fletcher’s intense gaze remained fixed on me. I knew he was angry; I could feel the heat on my back without even turning around.

”President Fletcher...” The driver glanced back nervously at Julian Fletcher.

Julian Fletcher didn’t say anything, but then he suddenly chuckled. ”Let’s go.”

”If Miss Silvia Lynch releases that recording...” The driver was worried Julian Fletcher’s reputation would be affected.

”She won’t dare,” Julian Fletcher said, sounding quite confident. ”I have my ways to make her come begging to me personally.”

I hid behind the gate, letting out a sigh of relief as Julian Fletcher’s car drove away.

Julian Fletcher is the kind of person who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. I was lucky to get away this time, but I might not be so fortunate next time.

My guess is he’s only found out that Silvia Lynch was connected to those homeless children, but he hasn’t found any conclusive evidence linking her to the killer.

I took a deep breath, my head starting to ache.

’This Silvia Lynch... what exactly is the connection between her and the killer?’

’Did she feed and help these homeless children just to incite them to kill? Was Silvia Lynch really that terrifying a person?’

’From what I saw at the class reunion, the original Silvia Lynch was a timid, insecure woman who let others push her around.’

’Could it be that she was bullied so badly that she turned malicious?’

A panic was rising in my heart. I was terrified that if the investigation continued and led back to Silvia Lynch, my name would be sullied beyond repair, even if I were to jump into the Flavis River.

’I can’t end up sending myself to prison before the real killer is even found.’

’That would be just too tragic.’

”Cece...”

Just as I walked into the living room, I saw Asher.

He looked a little frantic, probably because he’d woken up and not seen me.

”I’m here,” I said, quickly trying to soothe him.

Asher rushed over and threw his arms around me. ”I thought... you’d left me.”

He was trembling, and his voice was shaking too.

’It’s like he lives every day in a state of terror and fear.’

”You have to give us an explanation for this! Master Lancaster can’t make decisions anymore, but we still need to eat, don’t we? On what grounds did you cut off our allowance?”

”Exactly! He’s a madman! What right does he have to cut off the money the Lancaster Family gives us?”

The living room was in an uproar, with people still shouting chaotically.

It was only then that I realized the Lancasters were here to cause trouble again.

This time, it wasn’t Master Lancaster leading the charge, but people from the branch families of the Lancasters, demanding their monthly living stipends.

I’d heard Assistant Foster mention that when Master Lancaster was still in good health, he would distribute a fixed monthly living allowance to all these relatives out of familial duty, with the amount varying based on how closely they were related.

’Now that the old master is sick, Asher cut them all off?’

’No wonder they’re all here making a scene.’

I looked at Asher, puzzled. ”You cut off their living expenses?”

Asher nodded innocently. ”Why should I give them anything? I’d rather raise a dog... than raise them.”

”...” I took a deep breath. I really wanted to give Asher a thumbs-up. At least a dog knows to help him by biting people.

’These people are nothing but leeches.’

Besides, there’s the old saying: a handful of rice makes a friend, a bushel of rice makes an enemy. The Lancaster Family never had any right or obligation to support these people. After all these years, all they’ve raised is a pack of ingrates.

”I’m telling you, Sebastian Lancaster, we don’t recognize you as a Lancaster! You’re a madman, so get the hell out of the Lancaster estate and give us back what’s ours! Otherwise, we won’t let this go!” The one leading them was an older woman, and she was quite fierce.

I think she was Master Lancaster’s younger female cousin.

”That’s right! We can’t survive anymore! You have to give us the money!”

”Give us the money, or I’ll kill myself!” others chimed in, adding to the ruckus.

Sebastian Lancaster stood in front of me, glancing back at them with an indifferent look. ”If you can live, then live. If you can’t, then go die.”

The weirdos were stunned. They looked like they were about to fly into a rage at Asher, but his aura was too overwhelming. He looked like he could snap and kill someone at any moment. It was terrifying.

”You just won’t die, will you? Popping up like maggots every so often just to be disgusting. Can’t you just go die quietly? Do you need my help?” Asher tilted his head, his cold eyes signaling for Assistant Foster to close the main doors.

The feeling was... as if he was going to start killing them all as soon as the doors were shut.

Even I swallowed nervously.

’He’s not actually going to kill them, is he?’
