Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1483: Chapter 1497: I Hate Him

”Honey, why are you in Nan’an? Are you on a mission?”

Just yesterday they spoke on the phone; Mu Xingfeng hadn’t mentioned his trip to Nan’an. But An Ran knew that most of their missions were confidential, not to be revealed outside, even to family members.

”Yes,” Mu Xingfeng sat beside An Ran, pulling her into his embrace, ”My mission is to check on my wife, see why she’s unhappy.”

An Ran’s body stiffened noticeably as she leaned against Mu Xingfeng. When she heard Mu Xingfeng say ”yes,” she genuinely thought he was here for a mission, but the latter half of his sentence hit her like a blow, making the softest part of her heart ache and swell.

She realized that Fang Hui must have told him, but she hadn’t mentioned today’s events to anyone. Had Mu Xingfeng rushed here overnight just upon hearing she was upset?

An Ran’s gaze fell again on the diagnosis certificate on the coffee table. Mu Xingfeng followed her gaze and sighed lightly, ”I’ll go talk to Si.”

He knew about Jiawen Entertainment canceling the contract with An Sijia and demanding a breach fee of up to 20 million. To him and Si, 20 million wasn’t much, but for a small company at the county level, it was everything.

Although the actions of the An Family mothers and daughters repeatedly touched his bottom line, he didn’t want An Ran to have any regrets one day.

”No,” An Ran screamed abruptly, her emotions rising sharply, ”Why should I help them? Why help him?”

”Okay, okay, I won’t say anything, I won’t interfere, I won’t care about anything. How Si deals with the An Family is up to him; it’s none of our business,” Mu Xingfeng hugged her, soothing her gently.

An Ran leaned into Mu Xingfeng’s embrace again, listening to his strong heartbeat, calming down her emotions. After what seemed like an eternity, she suddenly spoke, ”Honey, did you know? I think I hate him. I hate that he abandoned Mom. If he hadn’t left Mom for Sun Xuehui, how could Mom have been so hit that she went into premature labor and died during childbirth?

I also hate him. I was clearly his daughter, yet he never acknowledged me, only treating me as the An Family’s foster daughter, allowing Sun Xuehui to beat and scold me. Especially in my first year there, if I made any mistakes, Sun Xuehui would beat and scold me. Even if I was extremely careful and made no errors, if she was unhappy, she’d still beat me to vent her anger. An Sijia also formed the habit of venting on me from a young age.

They sometimes did these things behind his back, but he could see the wounds on my body, yet he never asked about them.”

An Ran’s low voice gradually became choked, tears silently streaming down.

”Initially, in my naive days, I used to deliberately expose my injuries, hoping he’d see them and say something for me. But he never did.

Later, since Sun Xuehui saw he wouldn’t intervene, she became even more fearless, even hitting me in his presence, while he’d merely utter a few nonchalant words.

At that time, I thought they were the true family, and I was just a foster child, an accessory to this family, even a burden. But I never imagined he was my biological father.

When I found out the truth, I wished it were a lie, unwilling to accept having such a cold and heartless father.

I hate him. I hate him deeply, hate his cold-bloodedness, hate his indifference, hate that he abandoned Mom, and never treated me like his child. I hate him; I hate him to death...”
