Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1473: Chapter 1487: You Little Troublemaker

No one noticed that Zheng Kai let out a small sigh of relief, his fist by his side unclenching. However, he raised his hand and calmly adjusted his collar, fastening the button.

The performance officially began with cheers and shouts from the crowd, the prelude replacing the uproarious noise.

One had to admit, Xiao Xue’s boyfriend was very talented. As the lead guitar and vocalist, he could masterfully control the rhythm on stage, and from Xiao Xue’s introduction, he had composed and written several songs himself.

The girls were utterly entranced as they listened.

As another song concluded, Dongfang Ming cradled his guitar, suddenly looking towards their table, holding the microphone, his voice sexy and low, ”For the next song, I’m going to invite a guest to join me on stage. I’d like to invite a friend named An Ran to come up.”

”Pft—”

An Ran spat out a mouthful of water.

What the heck? Could there be someone with the same name?

Looking back at the stage, it was clear Dongfang Ming’s gaze was directed towards them. An Ran looked at Xiao Xue.

”Didn’t you say this was a solo? I told Brother Ming that my friend wanted to perform, so he invited you to be her special guest,” Xiao Xue said, covering her mouth, looking very smug.

”Xiao Xue, you troublemaker.”

An Ran, furious, reached over to pinch her face, but Xiao Xue simply pulled her up.

”Hurry up, or else the audience below will get impatient.”

Zheng Kai also reached out to stop Xiao Xue, worrying, ”Xiao Xue, isn’t this a bit much? You should explain to Dongfang Ming that we were just kidding.”

He hadn’t heard An Ran sing before, only assuming she was joking with them, yet Xiao Xue took it seriously.

Dragging An Ran on stage like this, wouldn’t that just embarrass her?

Xiao Xiao looked on as if watching a good show; she knew An Ran could sing, and quite well, too.

It had been a long time since she’d seen An Ran so energetic, even if it was fueled by irritation.

”Explain what? He’s already waiting on stage, An Ran, please, could you do this for me? You can’t have me set up Brother Ming, making him lose face on stage, right?”

Xiao Xue clasped her hands together, giving her a cute and pleading wink.

An Ran looked at the stage not far away, where Dongfang Ming was still looking in their direction, and the audience below had started to get restless from waiting too long.

”Just this once,” An Ran said, tapping Xiao Xue on the forehead. She really couldn’t win against her outgoing roommate, who meant what she said.

An Ran stood and walked towards the stage.

”Swish”—a spotlight shone on her.

She hadn’t expected Xiao Xue to tell Dongfang Ming about it, nor for Dongfang Ming to really invite her on stage to perform.

Under the spotlight and the gaze of all, she walked onto the stage with a slight smile, her chin slightly lifted, maintaining a calm demeanor, but her palms were already sweaty.

Dongfang Ming agreed to add a guest at his girlfriend’s suggestion, not expecting her roommate to be quite remarkable.

Take his girlfriend Xiao Xue for example; though usually outgoing, like a bouncing shrimp before him, the one time he invited her on stage to sing, she immediately chickened out, refusing to go up no matter how much he called her.

And here was An Ran, not just stepping onto the stage, but doing so with such poise and calm, completely beyond his expectations.

As she walked towards the front of the stage, he couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow—a beauty.

But any emotion was fleeting; as An Ran took the steps on stage, Dongfang Ming extended his hand in a gentlemanly gesture.
