Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1454: Chapter 1468: Is the Young Lady Familiar with Him?

An Ran stabbed another piece of steak and noticed that the steak in front of Lu Yi previously was still placed in front of Sun Wangbei, untouched. Sun Wangbei obviously wouldn’t eat Lu Yi’s untouched steak, and Lu Yi, sitting on the other side, smiled at her awkwardly.

It then occurred to her that Sun Wangbei and Lu Yi probably didn’t know each other; after all, status matters. Even if Lu Yi is the eldest young master of the Lu Family and is well-known in Nan’an, it’s nothing compared to a few figures in the Imperial City.

”Lu Yi, yours, hurry up and eat it, otherwise it’ll get cold.” An Ran moved the steak in front of Sun Wangbei to Lu Yi.

Sun Wangbei coughed lightly, paying no attention to the matter.

Lu Yi took the steak and put it in front of him, but seemed uninterested in eating it. ”I’ve just eaten earlier. Since Young Master Sun is accompanying you, I’ll head over to the banquet hall.”

As he spoke, he got up. After thinking for a moment, he said, ”And about your foster mother, stay away from her. If she tries to bother you, ask the waiter to notify me.” Feeling a cold gaze beside him, Lu Yi changed his tone, ”Or notify President Huo and Young Master Sun, just don’t let yourself suffer.”

”Alright, sure, you go ahead. Don’t worry about me, I can take care of myself,” An Ran waved her hand, completely unaware of the undercurrent from the man opposite.

Lu Yi said his farewells to Sun Wangbei and left the restaurant, exhaling deeply.

”You seem quite familiar with him?” Sun Wangbei elegantly sliced the steak that had just been served by the waiter, asking casually.

”Of course, Lu Yi is my classmate and desk mate. By the way, he is the eldest son of the Lu Family, and today’s venue is provided by them.” An Ran explained to Sun Wangbei as she ate.

”Desk mate? Isn’t your school a university? How come there are mixed-gender desks?”

Sun Wangbei attended a military academy for college, full of robust men. But he knew that co-ed desks were rare, even in high school. Such arrangements mainly occur in elementary school to prevent boys from fooling around together.

Hearing Sun Wangbei’s earnest questioning, An Ran burst out laughing, ”Young Master Sun, what’s wrong with mixed-gender desks? Actually, we weren’t seated according to gender, but according to grades. Lu Yi always ranked at the top in exams, while I’m the perpetual second place.”

Talking about this made An Ran feel a bit melancholic.

”If you don’t want to be the perpetual second, you could be third or fourth—it doesn’t matter since there’s plenty of people behind. School is just for fun; are you worried that Second Brother won’t be able to support you?”

Sun Wangbei spoke indifferently. The most important thing was that third or fourth wouldn’t be desk mates with that young man.

With his years of experience in romance, he was sure that young man harbors secret feelings for An Ran.

Once he returns to the Imperial City, he has to relay this major discovery to his Second Brother immediately. He wonders if his Second Brother will praise him. If he could help the division of his company with some ideas, even better.

”Alright, enough about me. I wanted to ask how you plan to deal with An Sijia. After all, she’s an artist in your company.”

Though Sun Wangbei and his brothers are always gentle and approachable with their people, An Ran knows this is only for their own people. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have climbed to such positions.

Everyone has their weak spot. An Sijia schemed against Sun Wangbei, touching his Achilles’ heel.

Seeing how harsh Sun Wangbei had spoken earlier, she knew he was genuinely angry.

Initially, she wanted to remind him about this; no matter what, this is Wenshan Group’s charity night, hosted at Lu Family’s hotel. Even if she doesn’t like An Sijia, she doesn’t want her to ruin the charity night.
