Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 993: Chapter 1006: A Little Bit Unfair

”No way, I have to ask my sister, how can she exploit me like this?”

An Ran put down her chopsticks, took her phone and dialed directly.

The phone was quickly connected, and Mu Wanxin’s enthusiastic voice came through, ”Ran, I’ve got good news for you, you’re going to be an auntie, or maybe an aunt. Hey, Ran, do you want the baby to call you auntie or aunt?”

Baby? Upon hearing the word ”baby,” An Ran’s eyes immediately lit up, ”Big sister, do you and Brother Wenxuan have a baby?”

”Yes, we confirmed it at the hospital this morning. It’s been over a month already. I just informed the family and was about to call you and Xingfeng when you called. It seems you and the baby are really in sync.”

”Really?” An Ran chuckled, ”Big sister, how are you feeling now? I heard it’s tough being pregnant. You must take care and get plenty of rest.”

Ever since Mu Xingfeng mentioned to her about wanting her to give him a baby, An Ran had fantasized about getting pregnant. She had also read some medical books on the topic and knew that women undergo a series of pregnancy reactions and that the whole gestation period is tough.

”I just found out, so I’m okay, just haven’t had much of an appetite these days. That’s why I went for a check-up this morning. I didn’t expect it to be because I’m pregnant. Ah, no, here it comes again. Ran, I have to go...”

A burst of clattering sounds mixed with Mu Wanxin’s retching came from the other end, followed by the call being hung up.

An Ran looked at her phone, imagining Mu Wanxin’s situation on the other end, and felt a bit sorry for her.

Meanwhile, Liu Hu, sitting next to her, looked at her with sympathetic eyes.

An Ran didn’t leave her seat while on the call. Across the table, Liu Hu could clearly hear Mu Wanxin’s voice from the other end.

It was a completely different voice from the one that had talked to her earlier.

”Big sister is pregnant, she sounds really tired,” An Ran said dully, placing the phone on the table.

”Little sister-in-law, whether Miss Mu is tired or not, I don’t know, but it seems you’re going to be very tired,”

Just a moment ago, she was indignantly talking about being exploited, yet after a phone call, she started feeling sorry for someone else.

An Ran slapped her forehead, ”Oh right, how could I forget this?”

After reflecting for a moment, she sighed, ”Perhaps big sister really needs to find an assistant, which is why she’s having me get familiar with Wenshan’s affairs. After all, she is pregnant. Never mind, I’ll get familiar with things first and help out where I can,” if I’m really not up to it, no amount of reliance is going to make a difference.

”Okay, I’ve finished eating, I’ll go outside to check if Vice President Huo has arrived.”

On the other end of the call, Shen Wenxuan looked at his slyly smiling young wife with helplessness, ”Wanxin, don’t you think you’re being a bit unfair?”

”Unfair? Do you want your pregnant wife to go to the company and deal with all those random things?” Mu Wanxin spoke with confidence, puffing out her chest.

Shen Wenxuan pulled his wife’s delicate hand, sat her on his lap, and caressed her small belly, ”Even though I don’t want my wife to be tired, Ran is still a kid after all, and she’s a student. The medical school’s coursework is heavy as it is, and you’re giving her such a large workload. I’m worried she won’t be able to handle it.”

”If she can’t handle it, then university can be set aside. Luckily, little brother is being transferred back to the Imperial City soon. Let Ran come back to handle company affairs, so the couple won’t have to live apart.” Mu Wanxin calculated, placing her small hand over his large one.
