Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 974: Chapter 984: Air Conditioner

The quarters don’t have cabinet-style air conditioning, just one wall unit each for the bedroom, living room, and study.

The first thing An Ran did after coming home was kick off her shoes and run barefoot under the air conditioning, fiddling with the remote control.

Mu Xingfeng put the snacks and ice cream he bought into the fridge, walked over, circled her from behind, and took the remote directly, adjusting the temperature to a suitable level before giving her a sideways glance.

”Forgot the promise you made to me?”

”I didn’t forget, just that it’s too hot, and I haven’t seen the air conditioning for over half a month now. Let me enjoy the coolness of the air conditioning, look at my sweat.”

An Ran said and lifted her bangs to reveal her little red face, flushed from the heat.

Ever since she injured her forehead last time, An Ran cut her bangs straight across. It’s been three months now, and after using Jing Xiangyang’s scar-removal cream, the scar is almost invisible. Her bangs have been growing longer, now down past her eyes, at that awkward length, completely sticking to the side of her forehead, indeed looking quite hot.

Mu Xingfeng directly pressed her little head and kissed her smooth forehead, ”If you’re hot, go take a shower. You had a fever yesterday, and today you want to blow air conditioning directly. Be careful not to get sick. Watch some TV for a bit, I’ll go shower first, it’ll be done in five minutes.”

After being away for over half a month, the home appliances had been disconnected from power. The water heater needs a few minutes to heat up after being plugged in, but in this weather, he can definitely take a cold shower.

An Ran sat back on the sofa, grabbed a bag of chips and opened it, crunching on them while watching the man’s back.

”Mu Xingfeng, I want to take a cold shower too.”

”No,” the man refused without turning his head.

”How about we shower together?”

The man almost stumbled when he was about to open the door, nearly falling over, turning back to see his mischievous wife on the sofa turning her head with a wicked smile, ”If you agree to let me take a cold shower, I’ll shower with you.”

Mu Xingfeng held the doorknob, raising an intriguing smile, ”How about hubby showering with you in hot water?”

”I just remembered there’s no hot water at home, I’ll go boil some hot water to drink,” since knowing Mu Xingfeng, An Ran learned to assess the situation, realizing that continuing to tease would only end up with her losing out.

”Little rascal,” watching the escaping figure, Mu Xingfeng chuckled and entered the bathroom.

Mu Xingfeng always showers quickly, coming out refreshed in less than five minutes, ”Wife, your turn, the water’s hot.”

...

When An Ran came out of the bathroom refreshed, it was already afternoon.

Her stomach had long protested with growling sounds.

”Mu Xingfeng, you’re torturing me, it’s past two, the cafeteria must be out of lunch, I’m so hungry.”

Mu Xingfeng looked at the pouting little wife, smiling while taking shorts and a T-shirt from the wardrobe and placing them next to her, ”Exercise gives you appetite, huh? Let’s go, hubby will take you to Shengbaiwei to eat.”

Hearing there was food, An Ran climbed up, her eyes shining brightly, ”Really going to Shengbaiwei to eat?”

Though it’s an hour’s drive from Nan’an, she’s not worried about the distance, just that Mu Xingfeng has been with her since returning, unlike the past when he would always report to the leader after completing tasks. Does he not have official business today?

Mu Xingfeng put on casual clothes and glanced at his little wife, raising his eyebrows, ”Indeed, if I don’t take my wife for a good meal soon, she might not stick around much longer.”
