Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 952: Chapter 962: Exactly Like My Sister

On the way ahead, they all remained silent. Besides the rustling sound of raindrops hitting the leaves, the only other sound was the water underfoot. By the time they reached the cave, they were already soaked through.

Although it was midsummer, the rainy days in the mountains felt somewhat chilly. Moreover, this cave was located in a shady area, making it even colder and damper inside.

Qiao Er unashamedly took off his shirt, wrung out the water, and put it back on, frowning as he surveyed the surroundings.

”Brother Qiao, I’ll go get some firewood.” Shen Bin pushed An Ran towards Lu Yi and said to Qiao Er.

”Are you insane? Lighting a fire now, are you afraid those people won’t find out where we’re hiding?” Qiao Er glared fiercely at Shen Bin.

”Sorry, Brother Qiao, I was careless,” Shen Bin said, lowering his head, with an inexplicable light flickering in his eyes.

As he lowered his head, his eyes met An Ran’s, the girl’s eyes were bright, like shattered stars in the night sky, exactly like his sister’s.

With just one look, Shen Bin painfully closed his eyes, forcing himself to ignore that figure in his mind.

”I’ve already contacted Brother. Someone will come to pick us up tonight. As long as we make it through to the evening, we’ll be safe.” Qiao Er said, sitting on a big rock nearby, the gun in his hand never leaving his grip.

Shen Bin also found a place to sit down.

Lu Yi looked at the slightly shivering girl beside him, a struggle flashed in his eyes. Finally, he shifted a little and said, ”An Ran, if you’re cold, come closer to me.”

An Ran looked at him, understanding the implication of his words.

They weren’t wearing much in the summer, and all their clothes were wet. If they wanted to keep warm, they could only rely on body heat.

”It’s okay, I can endure this bit of cold. But I see someone else’s wound, if it’s not treated soon, that arm might become useless.” An Ran said, pointedly looking at Shen Bin.

Lu Yi also glanced over, looking at the small, round wound on Shen Bin’s shoulder, blood oozing out. He spoke in a cold tone, ”A gunshot wound, it seems the bullet is still inside. It might be embedded in the flesh, or it might be stuck on the bone. If it’s just in the flesh, over time, the excessive bleeding could cause dizziness or even fainting. If it’s stuck on the bone, not only could these symptoms occur, but leaving the bullet in for too long could cause lifelong disability in the entire arm.”

An Ran saw Shen Bin’s body tense up at Lu Yi’s last words and sighed involuntarily, ”Shen Qi only has one brother, I heard that Shen Qi can study at Nan University thanks to her brother supporting her. If he loses this arm, won’t we lose a classmate?”

”Why not say that Nan University would lose three students?” Lu Yi asked calmly, ”An Ran, given our current circumstances, we can’t afford to care for others. With this time, it’s better to think about our parents and relatives.”

”Yeah, they say good people are rewarded, so why is it that we came to the mountains for a charitable medical mission, doing good deeds, yet ended up like this? Had I known, I would’ve gone home for a proper summer holiday,” An Ran said, even sniffing at the end.

”Shut up,” Shen Bin suddenly stood up, walked in front of the two, and without a word, used a dagger to cut the rope binding An Ran’s hands, then handed the knife to her, ”Help me.”

With that, he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his bloody shoulder.
