Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 449: Chapter 463: Avenge the Son?

”Xingfeng, Haigang only has Rong as his only son. If something happens to Rong, I really wouldn’t know how to explain to the sacrificed Haigang. It’s all my fault; I shouldn’t have left him alone downstairs...”

Wang Xia cried more pitifully, and her words were filled with implications that An Ran had ill intentions towards Rong.

Mu Xingfeng had already applied medicine to Rong’s wound, wrapped it with a thin layer of gauze to prevent the clothes from rubbing against it, and carefully pulled his sleeve down.

”Luckily, the clothes aren’t wet. Otherwise, in this cold weather, Rong would have to endure the cold.” Mu Xingfeng said lightly.

”Of course, I made sure to lift up my clothes before doing it,” Rong replied proudly upon hearing Mu Xingfeng’s words.

”...”

Wang Xia’s crying stopped abruptly upon hearing Rong’s words. She stepped forward and pulled Rong into her arms, looking at Mu Xingfeng with a guilty expression. ”Rong loves cleanliness, he always likes to roll up his sleeves when doing things.”

Mu Xingfeng nodded, ”Yes, I do too.”

Wang Xia let out a couple of dry laughs, ”It’s getting late, we’ll head back now.”

”Mom said we’d have lunch here with dad,” Rong lifted his little head from Wang Xia’s embrace and asked doubtfully.

Wang Xia’s face reddened, wishing she could cover Rong’s mouth directly. ”Be good, Rong. Dad has guests over. Next time, let’s invite dad to our place for a meal, okay?”

Rong nodded but shot a fierce look at An Ran without being noticed.

An Ran wasn’t afraid of him and met his gaze, even showing a hint of pride.

Mu Xingfeng took in everyone’s expressions.

”I’ll have the driver take you home, and regarding what I said today, I hope you won’t disappoint me.”

Wang Xia’s body visibly stiffened, showing a bitter smile. She nodded, pulling Rong towards the door.

Mu Xingfeng saw them out, asking Liu Hu to drive them away.

Back inside, he saw An Ran cleaning in the kitchen and walked over to ask, ”What happened earlier?”

An Ran paused her mopping, was this questioning or seeking revenge for his son?

”Didn’t you see?” An Ran said flatly, continuing her actions.

Mu Xingfeng didn’t expect such a tone from An Ran. Rong’s burn looked intentional, but he couldn’t believe such a young child would burn himself to frame An Ran. What happened to cause such a reaction?

”Did you two have a disagreement, or did you upset him?” They were playing checkers; could Rong be upset about losing or did they have a minor dispute? Mu Xingfeng thought these were possibilities.

”Bang,” An Ran threw the mop to the ground directly, tilted her head at Mu Xingfeng, ”Yes, I upset him.”

After saying that, she walked past Mu Xingfeng and left.

She upset him? If it weren’t for you, would she have upset him? Now you’re coming to accuse her.

Mu Xingfeng didn’t understand why An Ran was upset. He just wanted to ask what happened, but why was she so angry?

Mu Xingfeng followed her outside and sat beside An Ran, ”Ranran, Rong is still young and a guest. If something’s not right, you should be accommodating,” though if he overreacted over minor things, it was concerning for his upbringing.

No matter what, harming oneself and framing others for unhappiness, such dark thoughts in such a young child, one wonders how Wang Xia is educating him.
