Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 447: Chapter 461: No One Can Take Daddy Away

”Lying, but even if you’re unhappy, there’s nothing you can do, no one can take away Daddy,”

The little boy said, revealing a creepy smile, then ran off.

An Ran didn’t want to argue with a child, so she sipped her milk tea and glanced once more towards the study on the second floor where the door remained closed.

With a ”bang,” a scream followed immediately.

An Ran put down her cup and ran over.

Rong had somehow wandered into the kitchen. At this moment, he had fallen on the ground, one small hand protecting his other arm, which was red and scalded.

After all, he was a guest in their home, so without thinking much, An Ran picked up Rong, ready to give him emergency treatment.

Unexpectedly, Rong broke free from her grip and ran crying to the second floor.

At the same time, in the study on the second floor,

”Say what you need to,” Mu Xingfeng said, pointing to the sofa opposite, signaling Wang Xia to sit down while he took a seat behind his desk.

Wang Xia did not sit but stared directly at Mu Xingfeng, her eyes expressing emotions that made Mu Xingfeng feel disgusted.

”If there’s nothing, I’ll go,” Mu Xingfeng said, getting up.

”Xingfeng,” Wang Xia called out to stop him, her eyes full of pain, ”Two months ago, Haigang’s mother passed away.”

Mu Xingfeng was slightly taken aback at the news. Haigang was a single parent; his mother’s education level was not high, yet she managed to nurture Haigang into an excellent student at the Imperial City Military Academy, reflecting the hardships she endured.

Haigang grew up depending on his mother and was deeply aware of her struggles. He was a truly devoted son.

However, soon after joining the Guard Team, Haigang was killed in action. When his mother heard the news, she had a mental breakdown, wandering in a daze every day.

The Guard Team took care of her and sent her to their rest center for treatment. It was not until last year that her condition improved, and she returned home.

No one expected that she would pass away in just one year.

Two months ago was precisely the month he had just been injured, no wonder he hadn’t received this news.

”Xingfeng, you know, Haigang’s biggest concern was his mother and Rong. Now that Mother is gone, leaving Rong behind, I have no other wishes but for Rong to grow up happily. With Mother gone, there’s nothing for me to hold on to in the Imperial City, so I plan to take Rong to Nan’an after a while,” Wang Xia said.

”To Nan’an?” Mu Xingfeng frowned, confused. ”Wang Xia, Rong grew up in Imperial City. Why are you taking him to Nan’an?”

Wang Xia’s mouth curled into a bitter smile, ”This is also Rong’s wish. Rong is a strong-willed child. In kindergarten, other kids had their fathers to pick them up, but he didn’t. In his heart, you’re the only father he knows. He knows his father is in the Guard Team, protecting the country, and can’t be home often. So he wants to go to Nan’an. This way, even if you occasionally have time to pick him up, it will mean a lot to him.”

”Wang Xia, this is something I wanted to discuss with you. Rong is older now, and there are some truths you need to tell him. When he first called me Dad, I didn’t refute it because you kept saying he was young, calling it just for fun, and that you would slowly teach him. You begged me not to hurt the child’s self-respect. I listened to you. But now, he’s five years old and still calls me Dad. Wang Xia, no matter the reason, you should explain to him. He’s so smart and understanding, he will comprehend it. After all, this is also unfair to Haigang,”

Back then, when Hairong was learning to talk, he called him Dad repeatedly. Mu Xingfeng only thought the child was pitiful for losing his father so young. Wang Xia had promised multiple times that it wouldn’t happen again.

Over the years, Mu Xingfeng had limited visits to the Imperial City and only saw their mother and son a few times. Every time, Rong calling him Dad had been addressed by Wang Xia before he could even bring it up.
