Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 431: Chapter 445: You... Are Not Sick?

Mu Xingfeng reached into his pocket and pulled out a small booklet that had been warmed by his body heat throughout the journey, tossing it in front of Old Mr. Mu.

Mu Wanxin, who was peeling an apple for Old Mr. Mu, was startled by his crude action and was about to lose her temper when she heard Mu Xingfeng speak.

”Grandpa, aren’t you tired of talking like this?”

Seeing the two bright red booklets, Old Mr. Mu’s face also turned rosy, and he sat up with a jolt.

”Hahaha, you little rascal, if it weren’t for me, would you have gotten these booklets so quickly?”

Mu Wanxin looked at the two, holding her apple, completely baffled.

”Grand... Grandpa, you... you’re not sick?”

Now looking at Old Mr. Mu, his face was glowing, his eyes were full of energy, where was the earlier look of weakness and fatigue?

”Wanxin, my dear granddaughter, when I got sick, I realized my granddaughter cares for me the most, unlike that rascal who doesn’t think of me at all, even though I’m always thinking of him.”

Old Mr. Mu finished speaking and gave Mu Xingfeng a fierce glare.

Mu Xingfeng speechlessly looked at the ceiling, ”Please Grandpa, your acting was really not convincing.”

Old Mr. Mu knew from the start that his act wouldn’t fool his grandson. What is his grandson’s job? He was a special forces agent dealing with drug traffickers, possessing sharp eyes and highly sensitive observation skills. This little act was indeed not enough.

”Rascal, when did you realize I was acting?” Old Mr. Mu became interested and sat on the hospital bed to chat with his grandson.

Mu Wanxin also munched on her apple, full of interest, as she hadn’t noticed any flaw throughout the whole ordeal.

”I realized after Grandma arrived,” Mu Xingfeng said.

Usually, in such situations, the family would keep it from Grandma Mu to prevent her from losing control upon finding out.

The two elderly had been inseparable for nearly sixty years, and their relationship was exceptionally good in their later years.

After Grandma Mu came to the hospital and remained calm, Mu Xingfeng sensed that something was off.

When the dean came out and said those things, he became certain of his suspicions.

Old Mr. Mu’s mouth twitched, realizing that aside from the phone call convincing him to come to the hospital, his grandson had been observing the whole act.

He had no choice but to consult with the dean for an extended period.

But regardless of the trouble, the goal was achieved. Looking at the two bright red booklets, Old Mr. Mu felt deeply gratified.

”Xingfeng, An Ran is a nice girl. Although she’s an orphan with no family ties, our Mu Family has never relied on women to establish ourselves in the Imperial City. A good man must be self-reliant. As long as the girl has good character and, more importantly, you love her, Grandpa will support you both.

Furthermore, since Ran has no parents or family, you need to take good care of her. Otherwise, she’ll have no place to voice her grievances. Being a military spouse is tough, and being the spouse of someone like Mu Xingfeng is even tougher. Grandpa’s words end here, take them to heart.”

”I understand, Grandpa. Thank you. You’ve worried about me again,” Mu Xingfeng said sincerely, touched by Old Mr. Mu’s words.

”You rascal, knowing I’ve worried about you, aren’t you going to secure my granddaughter-in-law quickly so I can have a great-grandson soon?”

Old Mr. Mu felt a bit uncomfortable with his grandson’s sentimentality and laughed while scolding him.

Laughing, he suddenly lay weakly on the bed.

Mu Wanxin, in the midst of eating her apple, was so startled by his action that she nearly dropped her jaw and was about to call for a doctor when a melodious voice sounded softly behind her.

”Grandpa, hungry? I made seafood congee. I wonder if you like it.”
