Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1041: Chapter 1035: A Complicated Woman_1

“Hmm.” Qing Zhu grunted, using several efforts before finally managing to give birth to the child. After Qin Xue cut and tied the baby’s umbilical cord, she lifted the baby upside down and lightly patted its back. The baby’s cry resonated the next moment.

“Oh, this little girl has quite a loud cry,” said Qin Xue, wrapping the newborn in the prepared cloth and placing her aside, smiling.

“Is it a girl?” Qing Zhu asked Qin Xue.

“Yes, a beautiful little princess.” After wrapping the child, Qin Xue placed her next to Qing Zhu.

“Qin Xue, why is the baby so wrinkled and red?” Ouyang Ziyu had never seen a newborn baby before, so she asked Qin Xue. To her, the baby didn’t look cute at all; it was actually quite ugly, but she held back from saying it in front of the mother.

“All newborns look like this. You looked the same when you were a baby, but now, aren’t you beautiful?” Qin Xue knew what Ouyang Ziyu was trying to say, but just looking at Qing Zhu, she knew that this child would grow up to be a beauty.

“Alright, since you’ve given birth before—you’re the experienced one—what you say goes,” Ouyang Ziyu had no choice but to admit defeat. Among the three women present, she was the only one who hadn’t given birth. She wouldn’t stand a chance against the other two.

“Keep an eye on her. Call me when the placenta comes out. I’m going to tend to her legs first.” Instead of helping Qing Zhu deliver the placenta, Qin Xue decided to let it come out naturally, avoiding the need to clean her uterus.

Qin Xue felt like she had become an obstetrician. Thanks to her fascination with medical books, she knew a lot about childbirth. She was relieved that both mother and daughter were safe and sound; otherwise, she didn’t know what she would have done.

“Okay, I’ll keep an eye.” Ouyang knew that after a woman gives birth, the placenta needs to come out, so she naturally agreed with Qin Xue.

Qin Xue cleaned and bandaged Qing Zhu’s legs before finally catching her breath—what an exhausting experience.

Seeing the way Ouyang Ziyu was acting, Qin Xue wondered how Ouyang had managed to get where she was. She must have been good at her studies. Yet she didn’t understand the basics of childbirth. She must have severely neglected certain areas of study.

“Qin Xue, I noticed someone watching from over there,” Ouyang Ziyu whispered to Qin Xue, pointing to the outside of the curtain.

“It’s probably that man who heard the baby crying and wanted to eavesdrop on us. But he’s likely to be disappointed this time,” Qin Xue laughed.

“Are you really going to take Qing Zhu backto your house?” Ouyang Ziyu asked Qin Xue in a whisper, seeing that Qing Zhu had fallen asleep.

“Yes, I am. I always keep my promises,” said Qin Xue, showing no signs of backing down.

“But, she’s in confinement period. I heard it’s forbidden for a woman to stay at someone else’s place during that time, the homeowner might feel it’s taboo,” Ouyang Ziyu mentioned what she heard.

“I never said she would live at our house. Some houses in our village are vacant. I can just rent one for her. I only need to deliver food to her.” Qin Xue knew about the custom. In Hua Country, parents also wouldn’t want their daughters to live with them after childbirth, let alone outsiders. So, when she decided to take Qing Zhu back, she didn’t plan to have her stay at her house but had already mapped out a plan.

“I see, you’ve already thought of a place for her. I was worried that you would deliberately break convention,” Ouyang Ziyu nodded after hearing Qin Xue’s words, relieved that there would be a place for Qing Zhu to stay.
