Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1009: Chapter 1003: It’s Your Dad is Good_1

Qin Xue put down the fire poker, exited the kitchen, and saw her parents and husband. Seeing Chu Molin treating this place like his own home and helping around, Qin Xue felt a strong sense of contentment. This was a rare phenomenon.

That’s because in many households, the son-in-law is usually treated as a guest and does not lift a finger to help. Much less carry out tasks with such great attention to detail, regardless of how big or small the task is.

“Alright, everyone, come wash your hands. The meal will be ready soon.” Qin Xue said. She had been cooking and steaming sweet potatoes concurrently. The food she cooked was simple, without any frills.

“Alright, Xue’er, you’ve worked hard.” Chu Molin quietly said as he approached Qin Xue.

“What are you saying? This is my responsibility. Go wash your hands and get ready for dinner. Stop fooling around.” Qin Xue playfully gave him a shove when her parents weren’t looking.

Molin did not drag his feet any longer. Seeing his wife’s demeanor, he knew that there’d still be things to deal with later, so he might as well hurry up now.

“Mom, Dad, you guys came back earlier today. Did business go exceptionally well?” Qin Jiale looked at his parents, who were washing their hands, and asked.

“It was alright, maybe because of the discount we offered the other day. We indeed had more customers than usual today.” Nangong Shulan washed her face, feeling rejuvenated.

“Perhaps you could consider running a special promotion on certain meaningful days, like offering a free bowl of porridge with certain purchases. This could really benefit some less fortunate families, couldn’t it?” Qin Xue suggested. She knew that everyone had a desire to take advantage of deals, it just varied in how obvious it was.

Of course, this applies to most people. A few don’t care for minor benefits, but it depends on their financial situation. They don’t consider these small costs at all.

For struggling families who wish they could split a penny in half to spend, you can’t expect them to overlook these benefits, can you?

Occasionally running such promotions not only attracts customers but also helps some people. Even though the benefit might be negligible, it still counts as a form of assistance to them.

“Sounds good, we will look at which days are suitable for this kind of activity.” Nangong Shulan said. She understood well what her daughter was saying as she used to share the same mindset, constantly worried about money. Now that she was running her own business, she didn’t have to be anxious over money anymore, no matter how small the issue.

“Alright, let’s eat. Lele said she wanted something delicious, and I’ll make her shrimp pancakes later.” Qin Xue said smilingly to her mother.

“Sure, whatever you want to make. Mom, Dad, let’s go and eat, I’ll carry the child.” Qin Lei said before his wife could respond.

“Okay, Dad, we understand.” Qin Xue looked at her father. It was such a blessing to have a father that doted on her.

“Oh, so only your father is good, and I’m not?” Nangong Shulan smiled sourly at her daughter’s words.

“Mom is also good. Can you not compete with Dad for affection?” Qin Xue didn’t say anything, okay?

“You did not say, but I can tell.” Nangong Shulan wasn’t genuinely jealous or anything, but it saddened her that she couldn’t see her daughter more often after she got married. Every visit was rare and precious. Her melancholy stemmed from the fact that they spent too little time together. But now, seeing her daughter and son-in-law getting along better than before brought her immense happiness.
