Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 429: Chapter 226 Ruins Activated_2

”The concentration of Magic Power here is too high. This high concentration has allowed many medicinal plants, rarely seen within the Homeland Sea, to grow here,” Julia said, looking at the surrounding plants, almost all of which were rich in magical properties.

This Island has even higher Magic Power than the surface of the Endless Sea.

The strangest part is that the concentration of Magic Power seems to vary in each area.

For example, the concentration of Magic Power on the beach and the nearby plain was only slightly higher than that of the sea surface, falling within a normal range.

However, this forest has clearly exceeded that normal range.

These various materials have essentially been forced to grow rapidly by the excessive Magic Power.

This doesn’t benefit the overall environmental balance, but it’s of the greatest benefit to the plants themselves.

Perhaps no one cares about this in the chaotic Endless Sea, as this place is already in disarray.

Upon hearing Julia’s words, Simon thought for a moment and asked, ”So, you’re saying that all sorts of precious Spell Materials are practically scattered everywhere here?”

Julia nodded. That was exactly what she meant.

It wasn’t just Matilda; Alka and Juanlu had also collected numerous materials along the way. They gathered edible vegetables and fruits, along with some interesting wooden branches and fragments.

Simon himself was no exception; he had just stripped a large heap of vines from a tree.

The four of them, all needing various materials, were reaping a bountiful harvest here.

”We can’t carry any more; the pocket Ring is completely full,” Alka said helplessly after checking his pocket Ring.

Juanlu, beside him, nodded in agreement.

”Forget it. Let’s finish exploring this place before we come back to collect these,” Alka said, looking at the surrounding materials with a pained expression.

Fortunately, this small forest was not extensive, and they soon emerged from it.

Ahead lay another stretch of wilderness. Clearly, there were far fewer materials here. Compared to those in the forest, their desire to collect suddenly waned.

”It’s rather barren here,” one of them remarked.

”Excessively high Magic Power isn’t conducive to the growth of all plants. Besides, the Magic Power here seems to have changed its properties, leaning more towards the Earth Element,” Julia explained from the side.

As they journeyed on, they mostly encountered ordinary mud paths and weeds with extremely tenacious Life Force.

Trees and various other plants were scarce, a stark contrast to the dense forest they had just left.

While walking through the wilderness, they spotted a massive rock protruding from the ground in the distance. Beneath it, they saw what looked like the remnants of a campfire, suggesting someone had camped there.

”Someone camped here, probably within the past week,” Jason said, squatting down to inspect the campfire remains.

This only further confirmed that there were people on the Island, although they had already suspected as much.

Bypassing the massive rock, they continued in the direction Alka had indicated.

Soon, they spotted a massive man-made structure in the wilderness—or rather, the enormous ruins of a building.

They approached the ruins cautiously, making sure the surroundings were clear of any danger.

”There are footprints here; someone has been here,” Jason said, observing some tracks around the ruins.

Alka also found numerous tracks in another spot.

”A lot of people have been here,” Alka added. ”The tracks range from old to recent, appearing almost periodically.”

Everyone looked up at the ruins. It was clearly some kind of megalithic structure that had eventually collapsed.

Even as collapsed ruins, the stacked megaliths still reached a height of over ten meters at their highest point.

One could only imagine how magnificent the building must have been before its collapse.

Oddly, there seemed to be no accompanying ruins nearby.

These collapsed ruins were surrounded by numerous weeds, having long since blended into the surrounding environment.

The visible height of the ruins was not all there was to it; a significant portion lay buried deep underground.

The megaliths bore many blurred carvings, but the passage of time had rendered most of them indistinct.

”I’ve seen patterns similar to these carvings,” Lucilia said, jumping onto one of the ruin’s stones. She then began to carefully examine the carvings that were still discernible.

”Pa... S... Temple...”

She found a megalith with the most carvings and studied it intently, then sounded out the characters she could recognize.

The others watched from the side, remaining vigilant while waiting for Lucilia to finish studying the ruins.

Lucilia possessed the most extensive knowledge among them, perhaps even surpassing the combined knowledge of all the others.

And Alka knew, from the Dream Realm, just the tip of the iceberg of Lucilia’s astounding knowledge.

Specialized tasks should be left to the experts.

With Lucilia’s immense knowledge, her temporarily taking on the role of an archaeologist was perfectly natural.

In fact, it could be said that most professional archaeologists weren’t as specialized as she was in this field.

Given the limited number of exposed stones from the collapsed ruin and the erosion from time, Lucilia didn’t take long to complete a basic interpretation.

Looking at the others, she said, ”These carved patterns are recorded in books, but these ones are much older by comparison. Hmm... A similar entity would be the Markwa Empire, which, according to records, was an Empire that perished about 3,800 years ago.

The script they used appears to be a simplified version of the one from the civilization to which these ruins belonged. Therefore, the Markwa Empire was likely a successor to this ancient civilization.”

Hearing Lucilia’s explanation, the others were somewhat bewildered.
