Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 425: Chapter 225: Landing on the Island

Since it was still night outside, Alka prepared to return to his room once more and sink into the Dream Realm.

He intended to go back to the settlement where the Intelligent Life resided and continue gathering information from their dreams.

”If it becomes daytime, remember to wake me up,” Alka said to Lucilia, who was sitting on his shoulder.

Lucilia nodded.

Then Alka returned to his room, lay on the bed, and quickly sank into his Dream Realm.

He quickly retraced his path to the settlement he had visited before.

At this moment, the Dream Bubbles around him hadn’t decreased as much as Alka expected. On the contrary, bubbles were continuously popping as people woke, while new ones simultaneously appeared out of nothingness. This indicated that as some people woke, many others fell asleep. The sight made Alka frown. This suggests the night outside might be longer than I imagined, he thought.

Collecting his thoughts, Alka began to select a target to enter. The most challenging part of searching for information in the Dream Realm is that I have to tailor my questions to the dream’s circumstances,

Alka reflected. I can’t just ask whatever I want. I have to adapt to the situation. As for waking someone up to gather more information, Alka hadn’t even considered it. Besides, the information obtained that way might not even be accurate.

After another round of information gathering, Alka discovered that the vast majority of people on this Island had never left it. The number of islanders who had left the Island and returned to live there was extremely small. Even if their dreams were related to the outside world, it was challenging to obtain any useful information. Alka had to continue inquiring about the Island itself. As he inquired further, he realized, The level of danger on this Island seems even higher than I imagined. At night, the level of danger could multiply, so they mostly left their settlements during the day.

These islanders never considered this Island their home; they merely regarded the places they lived as their homeland. Consequently, they had no aversion to outsiders exploring the Island. Because the Island was so dangerous, there was even a saying among ordinary people: once you left your homeland, it was best not to speak.

Although Alka initially wanted to ask about day and night, nobody seemed to care. To these islanders, it was just part of their routine. The information gathered this time wasn’t particularly noteworthy, although he had obtained a considerable amount, albeit lacking in detail.

Due to the Island’s danger, the average islanders and those not very powerful rarely ventured far from their settlements. The slightly stronger islanders were too few, and their dreams mainly revolved around hunting or resting.

Unexpectedly, Alka learned a lot about the creatures on the Island and even saw some hunting trophies and monster corpses through their dreams. This indirectly highlighted the Island’s dangers: perilous plants and bizarre environments. For the Hunters of these tribes, the most dangerous thing was not their prey but the Island’s environment itself.

After failing to gather more information, Alka began to return. Only then did he realize, Visiting so many people’s Dream Bubbles in such a short time is exhausting. I can already feel my body in the Dream Realm becoming fatigued.

He had never before visited so many Intelligent Life’s Dream Bubbles to gather information in such a short period; this was a new discovery for Alka.Upon waking from the Dream Realm, it was still night outside. I don’t know how long it will be until daybreak, he wondered. So, Alka lay on the bed, waiting and recovering his physical and mental energy.

「Finally, a beam of light appeared on the horizon.」

Like a curtain being drawn back, the sky quickly brightened. In just a few seconds, night turned into day.

Simon took out the sphere he used for timekeeping. ”The night lasted for twenty hours,” he announced.

”Almost a full day,” Alka muttered to himself. That was a long night indeed.

Then Simon flipped the sphere. ”Now, let’s start calculating the duration of the day,” he said.

Simon continued, ”Since it’s already daytime, get ready. We’re going to explore the Island.” With that, he had the Sound of Dawn take them to the bay they had seen yesterday.

As they approached the bay, everyone leaped from the ship onto the beach. This time, the entire crew was mobilized.

Alka looked at the Sound of Dawn and said, ”While we’re away, submerge into the sea, conceal yourself, and wait for our call.” As he spoke, he shook the harmonica in his hand. A melodious song drifted from it, and the Sound of Dawn slowly sailed out of the bay, gradually sinking beneath the waves.

Watching the Sound of Dawn depart, Alka nodded. I couldn’t have it just wait in place, he thought. In case of danger, we’ll need to retreat to the nearest point and leave the Island. The Sound of Dawn will need to be able to react accordingly. It can sense my location, allowing it to circle the Island’s border and stop as close to me as possible. That way, we can return to the ship as quickly as possible.
