Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 238: Chapter 162: Treasure in Activation_3

The patriarch of the Frost Cold Bloodline, named Rhodes, had likely brought the treasure here, only to be attacked. The ambush was instantly fatal, indicating the guard’s attack power was absolutely formidable. However, both the blue and gold light dots indicated that one didn’t need immense power to obtain them. In other words, as long as one didn’t carry or control the treasure, they wouldn’t be attacked by the guard. But to go down there, one would have to endure extreme cold, as the treasure was in an activated state. This activated state had even plunged the surrounding sea into an extremely cold environment. Approaching it would be impossible without a certain level of resistance to the cold. But if one could endure the cold, even an ordinary person could deactivate the guard.

After quickly processing the information revealed by the treasure, Alka began to think.

Firstly, the treasure is definitely beneath Ice Rock Mountain. To get in, we have to find a path into or under the mountain. It’s likely a cavern or something similar. I just don’t know if it collapsed from the attack. Since I possess and control a treasure, it’s not as simple as me just not carrying *this* treasure. The description clearly states ’possessing or carrying a treasure.’ I can’t risk it. This means the crucial task of deactivating the guard and retrieving the treasure must be entrusted to someone else.

With this in mind, Alka put away the map and went to the deck, where the others were waiting for him.

”Alright everyone, let’s get moving. This time, we all go together,” Alka announced, then took out a silver bell and tied it to the mast.

Then he and Pororo retrieved some supplies from the cabin, loaded them onto the Swallow, and they all rode it to the shore once again.

The few island residents saw them return and approached, smiling politely.

Alka and his group moved the supplies ashore.

”Please keep an eye on our ship. These supplies are a token of our gratitude.”

The middle-aged man leading them smiled broadly, patting his chest. ”Leave it to us! We’ll make sure nothing happens to your ship.”

”Thank you!”

Alka nodded and then led Jason and the others toward the island’s interior.

Ice Rock Mountain was exceptionally conspicuous; its peaks in the island’s center were visible even from the sea.

Following a narrow path, they soon arrived at the foot of the mountain.

It consisted of three adjacent mountain peaks, closely nestled together and covered in thick snow, with no visible vegetation.

At the foot of the mountain, Alka casually brushed aside some snow and felt something unusual underneath.

He then took out a Red Card and tossed it directly into the snowdrift.

With the burst of flames, the surrounding snow rapidly began to melt, causing the snowpack above to collapse and slide downwards.

Fortunately, the mountain peaks weren’t very tall, only about a hundred meters high. The melting snow cascaded down as water.

When the flames died down, a large area of snow had vanished, revealing the rocky face of the mountain beneath.

Only then did they see the true situation.

The mountain actually consisted of only two peaks; what lay in the middle was a pillar of ice rock, thrusting upwards from the cleft between them.

Without clearing away a large expanse of snow, it was impossible to see what was truly inside.

The two light dots must be beneath this ice mountain,

Alka deduced.Looking at the mountain peaks, roughly two to three hundred meters high, Alka couldn’t help but scratch his head.

What a pain.

He stepped forward and couldn’t resist tapping the ice surface. It felt as hard as steel.

The hardness of the ice was beyond his imagination.

It would be a miracle if anyone else could get this treasure. Who would’ve guessed the treasure was inside this ice mountain? To get the treasure, we’ll have to break through this mountain. I wonder if there’s any path leading inside.

Jason watched Alka’s movements, a bad feeling rising in his heart.

”You don’t mean to say the treasure is inside this ice mountain?”

Hearing Jason’s words, Alka chuckled.

”You are indeed smart.”

”...”

Hearing Alka’s confirmation, everyone involuntarily looked up at the mountain before them.

Although it was small, only about a hundred meters high, it couldn’t even be called a mountain peak—more like a large hill.

But to break through it by manpower alone... That seemed like a difficult task.

Seeing their troubled expressions, Alka smiled and clapped his hands, drawing their attention.

”Alright everyone, let’s brainstorm how to break through this mountain and get inside.”

”Burn it with fire?” Jason wondered aloud.

But considering the mountain’s height and its likely considerable width, plus the fact they didn’t know the treasure’s exact location inside, using fire would be difficult given the ice’s hardness.

”Let’s just dig! We’ll carve out a path ourselves!” Pororo declared, stepping up to the ice rock and throwing a punch at it.

The solid ice rock dented under his blow, sending splinters of ice flying everywhere.

Just then, Chadite came over. She patted Pororo on the shoulder, signaling him to step aside.

She placed her hand on the ice surface.

”Hold on, everyone. Let me check the structure here first. There might be an existing passage.”

As she spoke, silvery ripples spread out from her hand, rapidly expanding outwards.

After a good while, Chadite opened her eyes.

”There used to be a path between these two mountain peaks, and beneath it, there’s a large cavern.”

”However, both the path between the peaks and the cavern below are now completely filled with ice.”

”That cavern below must be the ruins housing the Ancient Guard,” Chadite concluded.

”That cavern must be our target,” Alka stated immediately from the side.

Hearing Alka’s words, Chadite nodded.

Silvery ripples spread from her hand once more.

This time, she was trying to find a spot that would be easier to break through, the most efficient way to save time and effort.
