Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 237: Chapter 162 Activated Treasure_2

The golden light almost completely obscured the blue light, rendering it nearly invisible without careful observation. The area on the map where these two points of light were located was called Ice Rock Mountain; these were the same mountain peaks they had just seen clustered together in the center of the island. However, those mountain peaks were not particularly high, merely very conspicuous. The peaks were covered with snow and, from a distance, looked like a white garment draped over the island. This was how the mountain range had earned its name.

Alka reached out and brushed his hand over the map display. Since the golden light and the blue dot almost completely overlapped, his touch landed on the blue dot.

[Ancient Object]

[Difficulty: Anti-God]

[Fame: 3,521]

[Treasure Description: Bahamut’s Ancient Magic Guard.]

It was a difficulty designation he had never seen before, and this particular difficulty seemed utterly bizarre. Furthermore, there was no Power Spiral annotation afterward. Anti-God... that doesn’t seem like something without a Power Spiral.

The Fame, however, was inexplicably high. Could it be because this Magic Guard is also quite famous elsewhere?

Regarding Fame, Alka had a sufficient understanding of it. The so-called Fame wasn’t targeted at this particular treasure but rather at the name of the treasure itself. Take the Sword of Love, for example. Any literate believer of the Holy Mother who had read her scriptures would know of this item. The vast majority of people were unaware that this sword had ever been lost; perhaps they still believed it to be under the Church’s control. But this didn’t prevent these people from knowing about it and thus contributing to its Fame.

Previously, Alka had found a type of standard-issue Magic Helmet in the Realm of Pitch Darkness. Even though it was practically unusable, the Fame of that item, when Alka had first seen it, had reached 36,000. This was because this particular standard-issue Magic Helmet had been a type of high-grade helmet formerly worn by the guards of the Vastin Empire. Many people and affluent individuals in the outside world collected them, especially some wealthy individuals and high-ranking members of the Blood Gold Alliance. There certainly wasn’t just one such helmet; there were many. Alka had encountered such treasures twice in total, and their Fame values had been identical.

However, this phenomenon only occurred with blue-grade treasures. This was because white-grade items were mostly various coins and common forms of wealth. It was impossible that widespread knowledge of items like the Golden Sail Silver Snake could elevate the Fame of white-dot treasures to such an absurd level.

Alka didn’t understand why there was such a bizarre Fame calculation method either. As for the treasure description, its appearance indicated that Alka must have possessed some prior knowledge about this treasure. What Alka recognized was the name ’Bahamut,’ and that was the only term familiar to him. As for what ’Bahamut’ actually referred to, he was completely ignorant. He had seen these words previously in the book *Land of Dreams*. At the time, it had only been a casual mention. Without this description, Alka might never have recalled it.

So, does this refer to some ancient nation or power? Magic Guard... Involuntarily, images formed in Alka’s mind of entities crafted from Spells and various materials, resembling automatons. They generally appeared in the guise of an armored Knight. The last time he and his companions had encountered something similar to a Magic Guard had been in Sad’s Treasure Vault. Such constructs were expensive to produce and thus very valuable.

With this in mind, he moved his hand toward the golden light nearby and began to inspect this primary target.

[Frost Nova]

[Difficulty: Extreme Cold Tolerant]

[Fame: 261]

[Treasure Description: The Frost Nova, a Holy Grail-level Treasure, was mastered by the Frost Bloodline family and controlled by their patriarch at the time, Rhodes.

Eight hundred years ago, Rhodes discovered a small ancient ruin on this island. While exploring it, he was ambushed by the Ancient Guard within the ruins. The fatal attack killed Rhodes instantly.

The Ancient Guard’s assault had been relentless, forcing the Treasure to remain in its maximum activation state for eight hundred years. This, in turn, had drastically affected the surrounding ecosystem, plunging the area into a state of eternal, extreme cold.

The guard’s attacks targeted any living being carrying or possessing the Treasure, as well as the Treasure itself.

One must break through the solid ice layer to reach the area where the two were attacking each other, and then disable the Ancient Guard.

Otherwise, the Treasure’s activated state would persist, freezing anyone who approached into an ice sculpture.] (Perfect)

A ’perfect’ Treasure Description had actually appeared directly. This was only the second time Alka had encountered a ’perfect’ Treasure Description. Such a description would completely disclose all information about the treasure to him. It would also inform him of the Difficulty in obtaining the treasure and any necessary conditions.

Alka carefully reviewed the information in this description. Taking the information provided by the Church as a baseline, a typical description would usually only expand upon the fact that a treasure was under attack and in an activated state; the rest of the details would not be mentioned. The reason this subsequent information was provided, achieving a ’perfect’ and complete expansion, was likely because Alka had first clicked on the blue dot. By learning about the Ancient Guard through its description, the system combined all available knowledge.

The guard he had just examined was also classified as a treasure, and its acquisition Difficulty was Anti-God. Furthermore, it was stated here that the Ancient Guard would target any living being possessing or carrying treasures, and it would also target the treasure itself. This was a clear warning: those who possessed treasures were not to be trifled with.
