Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 236: Chapter 162: Treasure in Activation

”Usually, she just tries to restrain the enchanting magic power around her. For these wild animals, this is no different from not restraining it at all.”

”Wait until you see her at sea. Then you won’t be surprised by such trivial things.”

Unnoticed, several small animals gathered, hopping around Julia.

Julia played with them for a while, then waved her hand to shoo them away.

Yet, they could still be seen peeking from various corners.

This small interlude had cost them some time, but it wasn’t a significant delay. The group continued along their predetermined route.

Soon after, they arrived at the dilapidated port they had just seen.

They also saw several tribal inhabitants near a wooden hut; these locals were guarding the port and keeping watch.

Upon Alka’s group’s arrival, these spear-wielding inhabitants approached cautiously.

”Who are you? Why are you here?”

This godforsaken place isn’t somewhere ordinary people would visit.

It was cold and remote, with nothing noteworthy. Even their own tribe saw young people leave every year.

Alka didn’t answer. He simply raised his right hand, and a faint Holy Light emanated from it, coalescing before him into the emblem of the Holy Mother Church.

”We are members of the Holy Mother Church, here to investigate this Island.”

Upon seeing the emblem displayed by Alka’s group, the tribal inhabitants immediately lowered their spears.

They accepted this explanation readily and visibly relaxed.

The leader spoke with a hint of resignation, ”Ah, you’ve come again. What do you want to ask this time?”

They seemed somewhat accustomed to it.

Alka wasn’t surprised by this.

The information provided by the Church indicated that the most recent investigation mission here had been over ten years ago.

Judging by the ages of these tribal inhabitants, they would likely remember events from over a decade ago.

According to the records, those who had previously undertaken missions to explore the Extreme Cold Triangle Zone had diligently questioned these island residents.

Almost everyone who accepted an investigation mission here would ask the same questions.

Everyone believed they could elicit answers different from what others had obtained, but the outcome was always predictable.

The inhabitants here had grown somewhat accustomed to these visits.

One of the residents even chuckled, ”You’ve taken quite a while to come this time.”

Judging by this resident’s appearance, he seemed to be in his forties or fifties, which was considered old in this place.

Alka also smiled and nodded. ”This time we want to survey this Island and draw a map. I hope we’re not disturbing you.”

”A map?” The leader pondered for a moment before saying, ”We have a map. Does your ship have any extra supplies? If so, let’s make an exchange.”

Hearing they had a map, Alka smiled.

That would save them a considerable amount of time, and their ship certainly had abundant supplies.

After all, with only six of them, their consumption wouldn’t be significant, no matter how much they used.

So, he was naturally willing to exchange some supplies for a map.

”Sure, but I need to check if the map is usable first.”

I need to see if light points appear on it first. If no light points show up, what use is the map?

After all, since they are local residents, their map might not be drawn to a professional standard. It could just be hastily marked according to their customs and understanding.

The leader nodded, then entered the small hut behind him. He soon returned holding an animal skin, which he spread out before Alka.

Although the map was crude, it seemed well-drawn, with detailed annotations.

Alka blinked.

Light points immediately began to flash on the map, and the golden pillars of light were dazzling.

”Hmm, good, it’s usable.”

”Please wait. I’ll have my crew bring over the supplies. What do you need?”

After a brief exchange, Alka offered about five Silver Snakes’ worth of supplies for the trade.

The map certainly wasn’t worth that much. Alka gave a little extra, but it was of no consequence to him.

Who knows if we might need their help later? After all, this Island is their home.

He rubbed his fingers, and blue lines formed into a Flying Bird that flew off into the distance.

After about an hour, Pororo steered the Spell Ship over, and Jason docked the Flying Swallow, which was loaded with some supplies, at the port.

After the supplies were unloaded, the tribal resident handed the map to Alka.

He gave a bright smile, thanking Alka repeatedly.

Having obtained the map, Alka waved his hand.

”Let’s go. Back to the ship first.”

With that, they boarded the Flying Swallow and returned to their main ship. They only secured the Flying Swallow loosely, not tying it completely, as they knew they would be returning to the Island shortly.

Back on the ship, Alka took the map directly into the captain’s cabin.

The map on the animal skin was crude but fairly accurate. Every area was finely drawn and annotated.

Even elevation differences were marked with varying shades of color, making it a surprisingly detailed map.

Apart from a few white light points, the blue and golden ones were clustered closely together, almost overlapping.
