From Arsenal to the Ball God

Chapter 322: Chapter 99: big6 Pilgrimage—Chelsea! Pursuing a Perfect Month! Success Isn’t Enough, Strive for Immortality!

”Including the Frenchman Wenger, he is the most respected founder of this team... and he is still with this team now.”

He glanced at the coach’s bench on the sideline, pointed and laughed, ”Standing right there.”

”So what?” Abramovich spoke up, as discussing this team in detail could take hours.

But what does this have to do with Ma’el?

Weren’t they talking about players?

Mendes waved his hand, signaling him to listen first, ”As long as Wenger is there, even if Arsenal’s recent performance isn’t great, this is still the best era... an era most likely to establish a legendary status!

”As long as they take the final step, not only will Arsenal become a legend among clubs, but Wenger will also become a legend among coaches.

”This is a scene everyone hopes to see, no more disputes, Wenger and Arsenal creating a brilliant era, ending with a truly beautiful conclusion.”

Abramovich continued to stare at Mendes, unsure of what he really wanted to say, this was just a fantasy.

”Ma’el.”

Mendes finally mentioned the player, moving closer to Ah Bu with his wine glass, his voice light yet deep, ”He is the one who could help them achieve all of this, and his name will become immortal alongside Arsenal and Wenger.

”It’s not just about achieving success, there are too many players who have done that, he wants to become immortal.”

Abramovich suddenly froze, maintaining a posture for a long time without moving, then turned to the field, shaking his wine glass and taking a swig, ”Watch the game.”

...

As the time was about to tick past 5 o’clock, the head referee stood by the center circle arc, one hand lifted to the sky, ready to blow the whistle.

Ma’el stood on the left-wing position, scanning Chelsea’s formation, seeing many star faces.

Terry... Lampard... Ashley Cole... Torres, and goalkeeper Cech.

Today they were playing a 4-4-2 formation, with each player worth more than 25 million Euros, a very luxurious lineup!

Once upon a time, he always fantasized about competing with these big-name stars, and now it had become the norm.

He often still felt a sense of glory, but his mentality had changed... he was gradually moving towards their level.

”When will others feel honored to share the field with me?”

Ma’el couldn’t help but think of this question, though it surely would be after winning many important championships.

The accumulation he currently had was incomparable to these veteran stars, standing with them brought a different feeling to others.

On the opponent’s side, there was a legendary sense of countless classic matches, classic seasons, and top honors participation.

This is something he currently didn’t have.

However, he believed that all this would fall upon him in the future.

”Beep!”

At five o’clock, the referee blew the whistle to start the match, Torres kicked off from the center circle, and Chelsea’s midfield and defense began their passing drill.

Ma’el bypassed Sturridge in front of him, charging towards their backline.

Lampard seemed unwilling to let him charge so quickly, shifting himself to block Ma’el’s path, somewhat intimidating the youngster.

”Bang!” Ma’el didn’t slow down, colliding head-on into Lampard’s side, knocking him to the ground.

”Beep!” The referee’s whistle echoed, and Ma’el possibly earned the record for the fastest foul in this Premier League season.

He didn’t mean to provoke Lampard, but it was too troublesome to brake at that moment, he waved to the referee and then extended his hand to Lampard.

Lampard glanced at him, grabbed his hand and stood up, then took the free kick himself.

Ma’el didn’t match up against him, but instead went forward to engage Ivanovic, today’s opposing full-back for him.

Compared to Azpilicueta from the last match, Ivanovic’s defensive ability was very poor, he hardly posed as Ma’el’s opponent.

If there was a one-on-one fast break opportunity, Ma’el had a seventy percent confidence in breaking through him.

Ivanovic standing on the flank at most closed gaps and caused some trouble, coordinating with teammates to encircle Ma’el.

His main duty should still be on offense.

...

Chelsea’s initial phase of attack was very aggressive, attributed to their new coach Boas.

Dubbed as Little Mourinho, the young coach who led Porto to a Triple Crown last year, Boas’s aspirations before coming to the United Kingdom were imaginable.

More importantly, compared to Mourinho’s conservative tactics, Boas is an aggressive coach.

Ah Bu brought him in, partially hoping this incredibly talented coach could achieve greater heights than Mourinho and also hoped he could bring attacking football to Chelsea.

People always want more; after Chelsea won the championship with the fewest goals conceded in Premier League history, Ah Bu began to pursue beautiful football.

Not only to win, but to win beautifully!

This is now their new goal and the reason Boas stands here.

From past few matches, Boas succeeded, often achieving 5-goal thrashings and 3-goal triumphs this season.

But the win rate decreased.

Boas’s team exposed defensive issues... yet he doesn’t want to address them, preferring to win through scoring more goals.

This Chelsea team has hidden dangers, the reason they only ranked fourth in the league.
