From Arsenal to the Ball God

However, he knew very well that the confrontation between the two had just begun.

He must chase back!

Ma’el can’t devour him like he did with Alaba and Raphinha!

”Robben was passed; Ma’el’s speed is incredible; Lam must maintain his retreat speed to slow him down!

”If he falls back too slowly and can’t keep up with Ma’el’s rhythm, he might easily be overtaken with one step; he’s almost the last defender left!

”Slipped! Lam stumbled and couldn’t maintain coordination while retreating at high speed, even if that’s his forte!

”Bayern Munich’s backfield is empty!”

Forty meters from the goal, following Lam’s forced error, there are no more defenders in front of Ma’el. He steps the ball toward the vicinity of the penalty area, ready to face Neuer!

”Boom boom boom!!”

The noise of Robben and Lam chasing back sounded behind him; he glanced sideways and found that both were catching up slowly.

Especially Robben, without the ball, Ma’el truly experienced what it feels like to be chased by Little Flying Dutchman.

He dashed two more steps forward, and seeing Robben advancing from the left, Ma’el chose to slow down ball control to prompt Lam from the right.

Both, left and right, closed in on Ma’el, intent on intercepting the football from under his feet.

”Bang!”

At this moment, Ma’el unexpectedly tapped the ball forward again, accelerating towards the penalty area.

He did not fear a speed contest!

He was only worried that being chased by two players without the ball would be disadvantageous; he might get intercepted..... So, he slowed down to trick both into slowing down, then restarted another round of the speed race!

Robben and Lam’s eyes showed astonishment; with their reputation in football, if he succeeded, it would be a huge embarrassment.

”Boom boom boom!”

They both burst out with their fastest speed, closing in on Ma’el from the left and right, creating a spectacular scene of three running neck and neck!

Six legs moving alternately on the same level, giving a dazzling feeling, as if countless legs crazily swinging, leaving trailing shadows.

”Snap snap!” This was indeed a moment worth commemorating; the journalists on site pulled out their cameras, capturing many photos from the side.

After ten steps, Bayern’s captain Lam was the first to drop from the three-horse race, unable to keep up with the speed of the two, falling a body length behind.

”Boom boom boom!” Ma’el and Robben were in the final showdown, neither willing to give way or provide the other with opportunities.

Robben maintained a slight half-body stagger, avoiding running into the opponent; Ma’el kept himself slightly sideways, not giving the opponent a chance to intercept the ball.

Two seconds later, both dashed into the penalty area, and Neuer came out from the goal, ignoring his big brother Robben in the team, aggressively sliding towards Ma’el’s feet.

”Boom.” Ma’el’s observation ability was sharp; upon seeing Neuer’s action, he took a step outward with the ball.

”Boom!” Neuer’s eyes widened, realizing that he might concede a penalty, but his slide couldn’t be stopped.

His right leg stretched towards the two at high speed, striking Robben rolling forward first, then Ma’el.

”Whistle!”

The referee pointed to the penalty spot without doubt, penalizing the penalty, and Neuer grimaced painfully, tightly closing his eyes.

”Ugh.....” Robben, thrown into a dizzy mess, rose feeling his head spinning, looking shockingly at Neuer.

What are you doing?!

If he weren’t concerned about affecting the new teammate, he would have roared this out loud.

In a sense, he took on the brunt of the force from Ma’el..... What’s more unbearable is that he not only got tackled by his teammate but also couldn’t stop Ma’el, allowing him to win a penalty!

The joint defense from him and Lam declared a failure!

Robben was not skilled in defense; he knew well, even forwards from the youth team might break through him.

But that’s in a one-on-one situation.

If he chooses to chase back at full speed during an opponent’s counterattack and stays on it, he can be the world’s top defender in that instant!

Because chasing requires speed, not defensive skills.

And in terms of speed, he ranks second in European Football; it’s rare for more than three people to claim to be first.

Even so, he wouldn’t concede.

Yet, he still couldn’t stop this 18-year-old talent from drawing a penalty?

”Wow.....!” Arsenal fans in the stadium exclaimed, a cerebral climax reached for many, engraving Ma’el’s image deeply in their minds, clapping their hands excitedly.

”Wow! Awesome! This kid’s so damned awesome!”

”Wow, he’s fast! Even Robben couldn’t keep up!”

”Damn! Who’s faster, him or Walcott? Looks faster than Little Tiger, more stable from the waist down, and more importantly, he can endure confrontation!”

”Limitless potential!”

”Henry! He’s the New Henry!”

Even many Bayern Munich fans looked at Ma’el in shock, some clutching their heads, others opening their mouths wide, all in sheer amazement.

”Whoa!!”

In the broadcasting room, Shen Fangjian couldn’t hold back his catchphrase, his voice filled with awe, ”Couldn’t stop him! Lam and Robben failed to block Ma’el’s frenzied charge in this counterattack!”
