From Arsenal to the Ball God

”What does Mendes mean?”

Wenger furrowed his brow and looked up, inquiring about this point, not rushing to pick up the faxes.

”These clubs have contacted him.”

Philip recalled this, his expression slightly improved, ”But he hasn’t had any private contact with the player, and the player currently has no intention of transferring.”

”That’s good.” Wenger exhaled, finally feeling something good was happening.

He felt quite at ease, picked up the fax copies and smiled after reading them, ”Chelsea is indeed crazy; their offer this time has reached 28 million Euros, and Manchester United also has an offer of 22.5 million Euros.”

This offer indicates that Chelsea is very likely ready to use over 35 million Euros to open the ’Ma’el’ youth player blind box.

Manchester United might also be ready to pay 30 million, which is nearing the transaction price for Spain midfield Fabregas.....

Young, possessing unlimited possibilities.

This aspect is simply too attractive to these major teams.

”Indeed.”

Philip stepped forward, took a cigarette from Wenger’s cigarette box, and smiled, ”Now he’s truly a gem of our team. I’ve never seen any player receive such offers without ever playing in a top league.”

”Me too.” Wenger shook his head and sighed, then remembered the upcoming salary negotiation, ”Mendes should be coming over soon, right?”

”Probably within a week.”

Philip estimated a rough time and said worriedly, ”By this year, the player’s overall contract will only have 3 years left. If we want to renew the contract this time, we should need to pay quite a bit, right?

”Other clubs’ desire for him is well known. Mendes will definitely use this opportunity to ask for more.”

”As long as it doesn’t break the salary structure.” Wenger stated his bottom line, exhaling a puff of smoke, ”I can accept it. These offers truly reflect his value; we can’t be stingy when giving.”

Philip nodded slightly, outsiders can underestimate the player, and fans can freely discuss whether Ma’el, who hasn’t played in the Premier League, is worth a top salary.

But they can’t.

A top offer is sitting here; if you don’t give him a top salary, there will always be other clubs willing to give him a top salary.

”After this salary increase.....”

Thinking about this, he had a sweet worry, and smiled bitterly, ”If the player performs well in the Premier League this year and Mendes demands another salary increase, won’t we have nowhere left to increase?”

He acknowledged that Wenger would stick to the team’s salary structure bottom line without exceeding the balance too much.

Over the years, Mr. Wenger has always been this way, never changed for anyone, losing many excellent players because of it.

Wenger stood silently by the window, hesitating for a long time before finally saying, ”He’s only 17 years old. I don’t want him to become the next Fabregas. If there really is a chance to help the team win important honors.....

”Then I will break the salary structure.”

Fabregas just confirmed the transfer, and the wound in Wenger’s heart hadn’t eased yet. He thought of Ma’el’s age, his talent and gift, and his high demands on himself.

Thinking this might be the next Cristiano, the next Henry, he indeed couldn’t stay calm any longer.

This time, he will make a change.

......

On July 5th, it’s Arsenal’s regrouping day.

Ma’el completed a series of medical examinations and filming tasks at the Korney Training Base in the morning, and returned to the training ground for extra practice in the afternoon.

Having stayed in London for so long, he was now familiar with everything about Arsenal’s first team. After a simple report, the priority was still improving his strength.

The team will have another two days off tomorrow and the day after, allowing players returning from vacation to quickly adapt to life back in London, prepare in every aspect of life and handle personal affairs.

”Power should be increased.”

Ma’el just needed these two days to do a power upgrade. He told Davis that he needed to focus on power training for these two days.

Under the premise of ensuring that the body does not get injured, go all out to push the limits and improve speed!

This not only presented a difficult task for Davis but for himself as well, as power and endurance training were most exhausting and torturous, constantly hovering around his limit of endurance, each time feeling like shedding a layer of skin.

On the afternoon of July 7th, Ma’el looked at the skill level of power with only a little over ten points left, gritted his teeth and persisted in practicing.

”Ugh...yeah!”

He kept adjusting his breathing, continuously gathering strength before bursting into full vigor, undergoing set after set of training.

Another set completed, he lay exhausted on the ground, panting heavily, unwilling to even open his eyes, almost falling asleep directly.

Suddenly, he got up again and headed to the training equipment, preparing for the next round of training.

”How about stopping for today?”

Davis, watching from the side, had trained countless players in his lifetime but had never seen anyone train themselves like this, even he felt somewhat unbearable watching, ”There’s still plenty of time, no need to rush at once.

”And power training must be long-term and slow-growing—no immediate effects can be seen, so there’s no need to be competitive with oneself.”

This had already surpassed the realm of training, less like improvement, and more like pure torture.

Davis couldn’t understand why a player who hadn’t yet turned 17 possessed such astonishing perseverance?

Or rather, at just 17, what’s so incomprehensible that drives one to train like this?

”It’s alright.”

Ma’el waved at him; he couldn’t possibly tell Davis that he really could see the effects, and once he broke through the bottleneck, he’d experience a huge increase.
