Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

”Mmm... don’t!”

Janelle only felt her body burning intensely, as if she were about to explode, and her heart seemed like it was about to leap out of her chest, so she quickly pushed him away!

”What’s wrong?” Trevor asked gently, a bit puzzled, his hands propped on either side of her, his body suspended in the air.

He gazed at her from inches away, ”I just kissed you a bit, it’s not too offensive.”

”We...” The male hormones enveloped her at such close proximity, Janelle faced his gaze, her heartbeat becoming more erratic by the moment.

”I... I’ll go find a room next door.” She said, trying to get up, hoping he’d let her go.

But Trevor remained unmoved, staring at her, his arms on either side, trapping her beneath him.

”Stay here tonight, I promise I won’t touch you.” His voice was gentle, his eyes sincere, extending an invitation to her.

In truth, Janelle felt a bit expectant, yet also a little nervous and uneasy inside.

For a long, long time... her mood gradually settled down, ”Okay.” She nodded softly.

Then Trevor smiled slightly, pulled her up, helped her lift the quilt, and his eyes fell on her face.

In a flash, her cheeks flushed even more.

Tonight... are they going to sleep together?

This was a scenario she had envisioned countless times before, Janelle didn’t even know what was happening to her, why, when with him, her heart would pound uncontrollably?

Weren’t they already together?? Why was she still so lovestruck!!

She quickly turned and got onto the bed, swiftly curling into the covers, burying her head as well.

Taking a deep breath, she tried hard to calm her emotions.

Trevor thought she was too cute, and he couldn’t help but chuckle again.

He lay down beside her, reached out and turned off the light, gently pulled up the quilt to cover himself, then turned to softly embrace her.

She didn’t resist, remaining still, as if she were asleep.

”Are you sure you want to stay buried under the covers all night?” After a while, Trevor softly inquired.

”Mm.” She remained still, yet inside she was overjoyed, her back pressed against his chest, feeling his warmth, and also sensing that strong, powerful heartbeat.

Soon after, Trevor also slipped his head under the covers, gently resting his chin on her shoulder, ”Then I’ll stay with you.”

The two closed their eyes happily...

The silent night at Emerald Cove.

Justin Kingston and Mia Lane had just come out of the bathroom, dried their hair preparing for bed, when Justin’s phone suddenly rang.

Who could it be so late?

The couple both looked puzzled because it was New Year’s Eve, and there hadn’t been any calls all day.

Justin sat on the bed, reached out for the phone with the lit-up screen; it was an unfamiliar number, but he had no sense of foreboding.

Because in his eyes, nothing was a big deal.

The child was healthy, sleeping soundly next door, his beloved wife by his side, even if the company went under, in such a beautiful time and place, he wouldn’t even frown.

The ringing continued...

”Hurry and answer it.” Mia urged him, ”It’s so late, it must be something urgent.”

His long fingers slid over the answer key, and he put it on speaker—

”Mr. Kingston.” A worried female voice came from the other end of the phone, ”Ms. Usher just gave birth at the hospital, it was a cesarean section, her body is extremely weak, it’s like she barely survived, and she’s crying and calling to see you, her tears are almost dry.”

”Why does she want to see me?” Justin’s expression turned cold with a hint of anger, his eyes narrowed, ”The police will go to see her.”

”She knows, she knows!” The other person feared this big shot would hang up, quickly responding, ”Mr. Kingston! She doesn’t want the child sent to a welfare home! Please, have mercy! She’s very emotionally unstable right now, she said... she’d rather die than not see you one last time.”
