Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Ian Shelby’s lips curled slightly, noticing his concern, and a hint of sadness flashed in his heart.

”Arthur, it’s alright, just speak honestly. I am an adult now, I can understand my father’s remarriage, and I’ve prepared myself to accept it.” Ian spoke lightly, looking into the distance, ”I just... want to know how my father has been all these years... Is he doing well?”

”Hmm.” Arthur was moved by his magnanimity and thus had fewer concerns.

Arthur turned his eyes and asked him, ”What was your first impression when you saw the princess?”

Ian knew what he meant, took a sip of wine, and softly replied, ”She looks a lot like my mother.”

”Yes.” Arthur nodded, ”That’s something the whole royal family knows. Anyone who has seen Queen Elsa feels the same way.”

So, his father loved his mother deeply, but just found a substitute.

”The King and the princess have had a good relationship over the years.”

Arthur told him honestly, ”Not only has he given her several castles, but also a lot of land. On all holidays, the King gives her very precious gifts, be it invaluable jewels or trips around the world.”

As he spoke, Arthur even felt a bit of envy.

Ian listened silently, and he couldn’t help but think of his mother... Over twenty years ago, his mother received the same treatment, but unfortunately... everything ended with his sister’s disappearance.

”I feel like the King doesn’t love the princess in the true sense, it’s essentially because he can’t forget the Queen.” Arthur mentioned a detail, ”Because in almost all activities, the clothes the princess wears were once worn by the Queen, and her makeup is particularly similar.”

Arthur also said, ”The King always secretly looks at the photos of him and the Queen late at night when it’s quiet.”

Ian felt a stab of pain in his heart upon hearing this.

So, does this count as a tragedy for two people? Has Princess Catherine been happy all these years?

”Then what do you think of the princess’s feelings towards my father?” Ian asked curiously, ”Does she love this person or this position?”

”The princess truly loves the King.” Arthur was very sure about this.

He expressed his opinion without hesitation, ”She often comes to keep the King company. Patients tend to be irritable, and sometimes when the King is particularly emotional, the princess is always patiently by his side, without complaint even when scolded.”

Arthur continued, ”The princess’s feelings for the King are more of admiration. Everyone knows she has those adoring eyes. No matter the occasion, she always stands tenderly by his side.”

So, his father also likes Taylor, Ian didn’t need to ask further.

If he didn’t return, the throne would undoubtedly go to Taylor.

So his presence would unsettle both mother and son.

His uncle suddenly brought him back because... did Taylor threaten his uncle’s position? This thought popped into Ian’s mind.

His uncle never told his father about his whereabouts.

And Ian always thought that his father knew.

Arthur took a sip of wine, glanced at him, ”Honestly, if you didn’t come back, Prince Taylor would undoubtedly secure the throne, but now there’s a change. According to the rule of succession by the eldest son, if Princess Annie is found successfully, Prince Taylor would be the third heir.”

Mentioning his sister, Ian felt helpless. He has put in so much effort to find her over the years, but to no avail.

Arthur reminded him, ”Louis, you also need to be wary of the princess, as this involves an issue of power. Never underestimate human nature.”

”I understand.” Ian gently clinked glasses with him, his expression warm, ”Thank you, Arthur.”

”You’re welcome, we’re good friends.” Arthur smiled at him, then facing the wind with a smile, tilted his head back and finished his wine.
