Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Mia took a sip of milk, smiled warmly at her, and explained, ”I’m reading a medical book.”

”Still studying?” Kristina Kingston thought of her medical skills. Without her, she wouldn’t have recovered like this, so she felt really grateful to her. ”But you also need to balance work and rest; you’re pregnant now.”

”Thank you for your concern, Mom. I remember.” Mia smiled and took another sip of milk. ”It tastes a bit stronger today, quite nice.”

”I made it for you today, added two extra spoons of milk on purpose.” Kristina Kingston looked at her with a doting gaze, treating her like her own daughter. ”I heard you say yesterday that it tasted a bit bland.”

Such a simple remark, but her mother-in-law remembered?

Mia held her milk cup, meeting her gaze, her smile bright and gentle. This relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law was truly getting better.

”Mia, I still want to apologize to you.” Kristina Kingston suddenly became serious.

Mia didn’t quite understand what she meant, meeting her gaze and listening as she spoke softly, ”At the beginning, Mom didn’t understand you. Not only did I reject you, but I also caused you physical and psychological harm. I’m really sorry.”

At the beginning?

Wasn’t that all water under the bridge?

”Mom...” Mia suddenly didn’t know how to respond. She smiled awkwardly and said, ”Hasn’t it all passed? We... have long since reconciled, so why suddenly...”

”Whenever I think of your goodness, my heart is full of guilt.”

Kristina Kingston sighed, her mood turning solemn. ”Without you, Justin wouldn’t have settled down, and we wouldn’t have two adorable children. I wouldn’t have recovered. Our family seemed like a symbol of power but was actually full of holes, and it only gradually became warm because of you.”

Kristina Kingston looked at her gratefully and spoke from the heart, ”Mia, you are the blessing of the Kingston family, a fortune that we’ve accrued over generations. We’re truly very grateful to you.”

Hearing these words, Mia was deeply moved and also felt undeserving.

Holding her milk cup, she didn’t know how to comfort her for a moment, ”Actually...”

”Mom.” She put on her slippers, set down the milk cup, and took Kristina Kingston’s hand with a smile. ”Actually, I never resented you. Being part of this family is my fortune as well. After all, I’m Mrs. Kingston now, a position many women dream of. I strongly believe in fate.”

Mia smiled at her, ”There are so many people who, due to shallow fate, can only brush past us, and many who, due to shallow fate, are destined to merely meet once. I believe it takes a very deep, deep fate for us to become a family. All of this was arranged by heaven.”

Kristina Kingston’s eyes welled up, and she nodded in agreement, reaching out to gently embrace her, ”Good child...” She was moved to tears, convinced that Mia must be the kindest person in the world.

”Mom, thank you for working hard to take care of the kids abroad.” Mia expressed her gratitude once more. ”Justin said that when this baby is born, if the kids want to come back to study, they can.”

”The kids are quite comfortable with their life abroad at the moment.” Kristina Kingston released her and told her, ”The schools there are no worse than those here. I can take good care of them, so you focus on your health. After all, visiting is simple; it’s just a few hours by plane.”

”Yes, yes.” Mia’s smile was as sweet as ever.

Downstairs, Justin Kingston entered the living room, his tall figure exuding extraordinary presence.

”Hello, Mr. Kingston.” The servants were very happy to see him and greeted him respectfully in unison.

”Daddy!!”

”Daddy!”

Gigi and Dolly jumped off the sofa, rushing towards him excitedly!

”Where’s Mommy?” Justin Kingston stopped and embraced the children’s shoulders, his presence extremely gentle.

”Daddy only misses Mommy; doesn’t he miss us too?” Gigi looked up at him, posing a heartfelt question.
