Chapter 1117: Chapter 1117: Got Beaten Up Helping Me Catch a Cheater

Providence Hospital.

The various departments were receiving patients in an orderly manner. Many had come because of its reputation. The shift change was complete, and the lights in several buildings were brightly lit, even though it was only early evening.

Before leaving work, Ian Shelby specifically went to see Ethan Dalton, exchanged a few words with the attending doctor, and then left.

As he exited the elevator, he immediately saw someone supporting Jocelyn Morgan in the lobby.

It seemed that Jocelyn’s right leg was injured, making walking awkward. Her right foot couldn’t touch the ground, and the pain made her frown slightly as she looked around.

”Which floor is the orthopedics on?” Cecilia Dunn couldn’t help but sigh, ”This hospital is so big. The signboard is over there, I’ll go take a look. You wait here for me.”

After she finished speaking, she let go of her friend’s hand and quickly ran off.

Jocelyn didn’t even have time to speak, lifting her right leg and standing unsteadily on her left foot, looking a bit embarrassed in the crowd.

Ian quickened his pace towards her, and just as she was about to fall, ”Careful.” Ian grabbed her arm and steadied her.

Jocelyn steadied herself and looked up abruptly, ”It’s you?” She was both surprised and delighted, then her face turned awkward.

”Jocelyn, orthopedics is on the fifth floor!”

Cecilia ran over with her bag, saw the scene, paused for a moment, and slowed down, ”Is he your friend?”

Ian gentlemanly let go of her, watching as her friend came over to support her.

”What happened to your foot?” Ian gazed at her injured right leg.

Just as Cecilia was about to answer, Jocelyn cut in, ”Oh, it’s nothing! Just a minor issue!” She smiled broadly, looking very relaxed.

Ian met her gaze, feeling her embarrassment.

”Cecilia, let’s go.” Jocelyn waved at him, ”Bye.” Then, bravely enduring the pain, she pulled her friend forward.

With each step she took, the pain made her wince, but she acted like a warrior, not looking back.

Ian turned and glanced at the two girls leaving, exchanging a look with Cecilia as they walked towards the elevator.

Ian also headed towards an elevator in another direction.

At this moment, Vera Ford was already busy in Ian’s villa kitchen.

She tied an apron, pulled her hair into a high ponytail, and exuded energy, preparing all the ingredients by herself, washing and cutting what needed to be washed and cut, and setting everything on plates.

A casserole was simmering soup, with seventeen kinds of mushrooms purchased, filling the kitchen with a rich aroma as the black chicken soup boiled.

She wisely lowered the heat, waiting for her dear Ian to return home.

Providence Hospital.

Ding, the elevator doors on the fifth floor opened.

Cecilia helped Jocelyn out of the elevator, seeing her in excruciating pain, and couldn’t help but tease—

”Do you have a crush on that guy we just saw?”

”You’re clearly hurt, but you’re pretending to be fine! Your foot can’t touch the ground, so why are you stepping on it?”

”Do you know this will worsen your condition? In severe cases, you might even need an amputation!”

Just as Cecilia finished speaking, she helped her friend to the entrance of the orthopedic consultation room. As Jocelyn was about to defend herself, they saw the man they had just met downstairs sitting at the desk!

But now, unlike before, he was wearing a white coat!

”You’re... you’re a doctor?” Cecilia’s eyes widened, glancing up at the sign at the door, ”An orthopedic doctor?”

Ian had a gentle expression, ”Yes,” he nodded.

Jocelyn felt a bit awkward for no reason, while Cecilia was thrilled, ”That’s great, you’re friends with Jocelyn, quickly take a look at her, she’s injured!”

They helped Jocelyn inside and seated her in front of Ian.

Ian thought, now there’s no pretending it’s nothing? It seemed the injury wasn’t minor.

”How did this happen?” Ian lifted her injured leg, gently placing it on a small stool, looking up at her, waiting for her answer.

Just as Jocelyn hesitated to speak, Cecilia answered truthfully, ”Got hit while helping me catch a cheater!”
