Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 565: Chapter 565: Finally Found an Opportunity

After hearing Hailey Hale’s words, Mia Lane gently moved Justin Kingston’s large hand away from her shoulder, turning to him and saying, ”Hailey and I really have things to talk about, not just work, so...”

Justin met her gaze, thought for a moment, and then showed a warm and affectionate smile, ”Alright, I won’t disturb you.”

Hailey Hale was stunned. He had already followed them down; why is she still refusing?

The elevator quickly reached the first floor, the doors opened, but Justin didn’t leave.

Mia took Hailey’s hand and led her out of the elevator.

Hailey looked back as she walked, watching the tall and handsome man gradually disappear behind the closing elevator doors, feeling a bit forlorn.

Then she watched the numbers rise...

”Mia, what are you doing?” Hailey felt a little sorry for Justin, ”Are you not planning to forgive him?”

”I don’t know what’s wrong with myself.” Mia said, feeling dizzy, ”I thought I could control my emotions.”

”If love can be controlled, what’s the use of a heart?” Hailey sighed softly, ”You two should leave it to time.”

Justin returned to the 22nd floor and walked into the office.

Finn Morgan, who was just about to get up to eat, was surprised, ”Why are you back again?”

Justin did not answer, like an abandoned child, he sat on the sofa by the window, looking gloomy.

Finn didn’t ask more. When he went downstairs and returned about twenty minutes later carrying a bag, he found CEO Kingston still in the same position, sitting there with the same gloomy expression.

”Here.” Finn put the bag on the coffee table, took out two lunches, and handed him a pair of chopsticks, ”No matter what, you still have to eat.”

”Am I really being excessive?” Justin asked him, regarding him as a friend at this moment, ”I don’t think it’s that bad, is it?”

”Things aren’t excessive.” Finn was straightforward, ”But the media stirred things up, the netizens followed blindly, and the more you look at it, the more it seems legit.”

Justin was silent, he started eating without thinking about it, his head hurting.

Downstairs in the company’s cafeteria, the environment was elegant.

CEO Kingston’s scandal spread quickly, and company employees saw it, though they dared not discuss it.

Every time they saw VP Lane, they couldn’t help but glance at her with a gossipy mood, guessing what she might be thinking.

Mia and Hailey got their food, sat in a booth, eating and chatting.

”You should actually trust him.” Hailey suddenly said seriously, ”Justin’s taste is at least like yours; how could it be that kind of scheming girl?”

”I know.” Mia responded calmly, ”I’m just feeling uncomfortable, not saying I don’t trust him.” She was more bothered by his investigation about the Jade Pendant without her consent.

Hailey was secretly pleased; she was finally willing to talk about things other than work.

”What do you know? Come on, tell me your thoughts.”

Mia looked up to meet her gaze, ”I know he’s not that kind of person, but... but when I think about those photos, I can’t stay calm.”

”This shows you care about him; you’re jealous.” Hailey bluntly stated, ”Will you admit it?”

”What’s there to admit?” Mia’s lips curled slightly, ”If I didn’t care, why would I marry him?”

In the CEO’s office upstairs.

Justin and Finn were eating, just like friends.

Justin asked, ”How’s the club doing? Have you checked it out?”

”Planning to go again this afternoon, heard it’s finished, just got the news myself.” Finn reported, ”Brand-new equipment was installed, looks top notch.”

”I’ll take Mia to see it.” Justin said, ”No need for you to go.”

Finn was a bit taken aback, quickly understanding his intention, ”Alright, you two go.” Actually, this was good too, giving them a chance to be together.

After lunch.

Justin went to the VP office, this time with business matters, feeling more confident.

Hailey was much more courteous to him now, ”Hello, CEO Kingston.” She didn’t oppose him and even greeted him proactively, then got up to say to Mia, ”I’ll go make a phone call; you two talk!” She then quickly left.

She was intentionally giving them space.
