Super Strong Little Divine Farmer

Chapter 741: Chapter 742: Fishing (Forty-Nine Updates More)

Lin Chen stared at the news where the TV was reporting a homicide case.

The victim was a freshman in college, killed on her way back to school from a part-time job at a supermarket.

This was already the third case of a female student falling victim in Zhonghai City, and all of them had taken place near the university town.

”The public security is in such chaos now, this serial killer is detestable, targeting female students.”

Lin Chen nodded and said, ”Stay at home at night these days, and don’t go out.”

Li Yuqing nodded, ”Don’t worry, Zhao Jingxue sister already tipped me off about it.”

”I heard that the killer is a pervert, specifically after pretty girls’ necks,” said Li Yuqing.

”Is Zhao Jingxue in charge of this case?” Lin Chen asked.

Li Yuqing nodded, ”Yes, she rarely comes home recently, I heard she’s been pulled into a special case team.”

”I see!” Lin Chen nodded.

Although the victim’s image on TV was very blurry, Lin Chen had a feeling that these murders were committed by individuals with supernatural abilities from foreign families.

”Damn it, they dare to cause trouble in Hua Xia and target young, beautiful women.”

Lin Chen knew these families came to Zhonghai for the Life Flower.

But currently, Lin Chen had no clues regarding the Life Flower.

So he hid in the clinic and waited, waiting for these families with supernatural abilities to expose themselves.

Sure enough, these guys couldn’t bear the loneliness and started making trouble.

After work in the evening, Li Yuqing and Lin Chen still rode the small electric bike home.

Actually, Lin Chen thought about buying a car, but he rather enjoyed holding Li Yuqing’s slim waist every day.

Just after they entered the courtyard, they saw that a hot pot had been set up.

Seeing Lin Chen and Li Yuqing come in, Wang Ke said happily, ”Go wash your hands quickly, it’s not easy for everyone to be together today, we’re having hot pot. It’s also to welcome Lin Chen and celebrate his move into our small courtyard.”

Lin Chen looked at the table full of hot pot ingredients, his saliva almost couldn’t help but flow out.

Zhao Jingxue looked at Lin Chen and said, ”Why did you run off today, making me surrounded by a bunch of reporters?”

Lin Chen smiled, ”Isn’t that just following Lei Feng’s example, doing good deeds without leaving a name?”

Zhao Jingxue gave Lin Chen a glance, ”But thanks to you, if it hadn’t been for your car exploding, neither the pregnant woman nor that man would have lived, three lives would have been lost!”

”So how was the drunk driver dealt with?” Lin Chen asked.

Zhao Jingxue sighed, ”It makes me furious just to talk about it, we put him in custody and there was a crowd trying to pull strings for him. At first, the higher-ups were insistent on punishing him severely, but somehow, the other party managed to pull some strings and he was directly released.”

Lin Chen smiled lightly, ”No need to ask, he’s definitely a despicable rich second-gen, right?”

”Lin Chen, be careful. That guy in detention said he was going to find you for revenge!” Zhao Xueqing reminded.

”Let him come for revenge. Last time I didn’t teach them a lesson, now I can settle both new and old scores,” Lin Chen said with a smile.

At that moment, Jiang Qian walked out from the house wearing a loose-fitting bathrobe.

What nearly made Lin Chen spit blood was that this girl didn’t wear anything underneath. The yet-to-be fully developed little chest was faintly visible, incredibly cute.

As soon as Jiang Qian took a seat, she asked, ”Jingxue sister, has the killer been caught yet? Everyone at our school is in a state of panic, no one dares to go out at night.”

Zhao Jingxue shook her head, ”It’s best for everyone not to go out at night recently; the perpetrator has not been caught yet.”

At that moment, Wang Ke laughed and suggested, ”Today we’re welcoming Lin Chen, how about one can of beer each?”

Zhao Jingxue shook her head, ”No, I have a mission tonight and can’t drink.”

”A mission at night? You police officers really have it tough,” Jiang Qian said sympathetically as she looked at Zhao Jingxue.

The hotpot dinner had everyone feeling very happy, and Lin Chen quickly became friendly with several of the beauties.

Especially since it was a bit hot from eating hotpot, the beauties were wearing very little, inevitably leading to some occasional wardrobe malfunctions.

Lin Chen filled not only his stomach but also feasted his eyes.

After finishing the hotpot, Zhao Jingxue checked her watch, stood up, and said, ”It’s about time for me to go, you guys keep eating, I’m going to change clothes.”

With that, Zhao Jingxue went inside, and after a while, she walked out gracefully.

Lin Chen’s eyes immediately widened.

”Oh my, Jing sister, are you sure you’re going on a mission? I feel like you’re off to meet your boyfriend!” Jiang Qian laughed.

”Exactly, exactly, are you in love?” Wang Ke also teased.

Her face turning red from the teasing, Zhao Jingxue replied, ”I really am going on a mission, is it necessary for the mission? Alright, I won’t chat anymore, I have to leave.”

Watching Zhao Jingxue’s disappearing figure, Lin Chen’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Having seen the case introduced on TV, Lin Chen knew that all of the victims were wearing red dresses. With Zhao Jingxue wearing that outfit for her mission today, there was no doubt she was going to be bait.

The adversary was a person with supernatural abilities. Ordinary police officers couldn’t possibly stand a chance against them; Zhao Xueqing wasn’t going to be bait, she was practically walking into her death.

Lin Chen stood up, smiled, and said, ”I’m not eating anymore. Oh right, I’m going out to buy something, you guys eat first.”

Saying so, Lin Chen put his hands in his pockets and followed Zhao Jingxue inside.

Once outside, Zhao Jingxue got into a taxi. Lin Chen also hailed one and followed at a distance.

As expected, Zhao Jingxue got off near a bar in the university town, then slipped into a car parked by the roadside.

Lin Chen also got out of his taxi and hid nearby.

After a while, Zhao Jingxue, presumably having received her orders, entered the bar.

This bar was near the university town, so it was the favorite hangout spot for the students around.

Since every university has international students, there were quite a few foreigners frequenting this bar as well.

Upon entering the bar, Zhao Jingxue took a seat in a corner and ordered a drink.

Seeing Zhao Jingxue’s awkward moves, Lin Chen couldn’t help but laugh; he knew at a glance that this girl was a goody two-shoes who rarely frequented bars.

But given Zhao Jingxue’s good looks, it wasn’t long before a number of men approached to strike up a conversation, though they were all rejected one by one.

Lin Chen was speechless, thinking that when beauties come to a bar, they either dance, drink, or flirt; Zhao Jingxue’s naive demeanor practically screamed that she was a cop!

Just as Lin Chen was thinking about going over to provide her with some cover, trouble found Zhao Jingxue nonetheless.

A few nonconformists with patterned shirts, nose rings, and colorful hair gathered around Zhao Jingxue.

”Come on, beauty, have a drink with us!” one of the bleached blond nonconformists said with a grin.

Zhao Jingxue looked at them disdainfully and said, ”Sorry, I don’t drink. Please don’t harass me.”

”How can you come to a bar and not drink?” the bleached blond then unexpectedly reached out towards Zhao Jingxue’s neck.
