Chapter 713: Chapter 714: Liu Ruyan Gets Captured (21 Updates)

Sophie Li frantically pulled out a pistol from her bosom and aimed it at Lin Chen.

”You, don’t come any closer!” Sophie Li, with trembling hands, fiercely shouted as she gripped the gun.

Seeing this, Lin Chen laughed, ”What, you still haven’t given up? Your hands are already stained with blood, you even didn’t spare your own father. What use is there in keeping you alive?”

As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Chen’s wrist flicked, and a flash of lightning passed.

Sophie Li was about to pull the trigger when she felt a cold sensation on her wrist. The next instant, blood spurted from her wrist.

She saw her hands holding the gun were completely severed, and they fell to the ground.

”Ah!”

A severe pain instantly spread throughout her body.

Seeing this scene, everyone in the hall felt a chill in their hearts.

”My hands, you bastard, you actually cut off my hands,” Sophie Li wailed.

Lin Chen gave a cold smile, ”So, you do know pain. Did you know how those elderly, women, and children felt when you killed them? Did it hurt them when you took their lives?”

Sofika, although somewhat reluctant, thought back to Sophie Li’s crimes and recent actions, her gaze turned cold, and she shakily reached under her chair to pull out a gun.

”Bang!” A gunshot sounded, and Sophie Li’s corpse fell.

Lin Chen gave a bitter smile. He had intended to capture Sophie Li for interrogation, but this old man had suddenly shot him dead.

Looking at the fallen body, Lin Chen sighed, ”Grandpa Sofika, now that Sophie Li is dead, let’s put an end to the feud between the Essent family and the Sophie family.”

Sofika nodded, ”Thank you, Lin Chen, for ridding my family of this traitor.”

At this moment, Sofimi knelt down in front of Sofika, ”Dad, it was all that bastard Sophie Li’s doing; he coerced me into doing this.”

Sofika looked at Sofimi with a cold gaze, ”Last time you poisoned my medicine, I spared you. But this time, you colluded with Sophie Li to harm me. Sofimi, you truly are a ’good son’.”

”Dad, I was wrong. I will definitely take good care of you from now on,” Sofimi said through tears.

Sofika waved his hand, ”Go away. From now on, you are no longer a part of the Sophie family. Don’t claim to be a descendant of our family when you are outside.”

Sofimi still refused to leave, but then two of the Sophie family bodyguards rushed over and dragged him out.

Watching Sofimi being dragged away, Sofika suddenly looked much older. He sighed and said to Lin Chen, ”Mr. Lin, you must forgive our family’s disgrace.”

Lin Chen smiled lightly, ”It’s nothing; I’m just glad you’re okay.”

Sofika gave a bitter smile and pulled out an ancient map from his bosom, ”Years ago, Essent and I obtained this ancient map in a Chinese tomb, thinking it would take our two families to greater heights. I never expected to end up like this. I have wronged your Essent family, and now I entrust this map to you.”

Lin Chen received the map with a thrill, knowing it was a map of the Water Element of the Five Elements.

”Thank you, Grandpa Sofika.” Saying this, Lin Chen took out a pill and offered it to Sofika.

”Grandpa, this pill was personally refined by me, and it can extend your life by at least ten years,” Lin Chen said with a smile.

Hearing Lin Chen’s words, Sofika’s face also lit up with joy, ”Good, good, good! Now I can see you marry Sophina and even hold my great-grandchildren.”

”Grandpa, what are you talking about!” Sophina’s cheeks turned slightly red.

Just then, Lin Chen’s phone suddenly rang. The call was from Hei Ta, ”Minister Lin, it’s bad. A group claiming to be the military just arrived, and they want to capture Liu Ruyan.

”What, I’ll be right back, and they must not take Liu Ruyan away,” Lin Chen hurriedly said.

”Yes, we’ve already hidden Ms. Liu, but it probably won’t be long before they find her. You better come back quickly,” Hei Ta said anxiously.

”Sophina, something came up at the company, and I need to go back immediately to deal with it,” Lin Chen said.

Sophina quickly asked, ”What happened? I’ll come back with you.”

Lin Chen shook his head, ”There’s no use in you going back. With such a big incident at home, you should stay and keep Grandpa company.”

Having said that, Lin Chen hurriedly drove towards the company.

It took only half an hour to drive from Sophina’s home to the company, and with Lin Chen’s speed, it took less than ten minutes to arrive.

At that moment, Liu Ruyan had been searched out from the restroom by two soldiers, handcuffed and about to be taken away.

Hei Ta and his group were blocking the entrance, not letting them leave.

At this, the leading officer coldly stated, ”Step aside.”

Hei Ta snorted coldly, not budging an inch.

The officer’s gaze turned icy, and his body transformed into a blur, appearing in front of Hei Ta and lashing out with a whip kick.

Hei Ta’s eyes hardened, and he raised his arm to protect his chest.

”Bang!”

With a muffled sound, Hei Ta was sent flying, his arm actually broken by the kick.

The other security guards gasped at the scene.

This guy was incredibly strong; even Hei Ta, who was formidable, was kicked away by him.

After kicking Hei Ta away, the officer snorted coldly, ”Take the person away.”

Just then, a figure appeared at the doorway: ”Which department are you from to be arresting people randomly?”

Seeing who had appeared, everyone felt a surge of relief.

”Director Lin!” Hei Ta, enduring the pain in his arm, stood up.

Lin Chen glanced at injured Hei Ta and walked over, gently grabbing his injured arm.

Instantly, the broken bones seemed painless.

The leading officer, seeing Lin Chen, frowned and coldly said, ”This woman is with the Rebel Alliance, we need to bring her back for questioning.”

”You’re talking nonsense, I’m not part of any Rebel Alliance, let me go,” Liu Ruyan struggled desperately.

Lin Chen coldly said, ”If you don’t have any evidence or an arrest warrant, then I’m sorry, I cannot let you take her away.”

”Just because of you, kid? We are from the military,” the officer coldly said.

Lin Chen smiled faintly and pulled out a badge from his pocket: ”Sorry, I am the deputy team lead of the Special Unit; it seems my position is higher than yours!”

Seeing this, the officer’s gaze turned icy: ”Since you won’t move aside, then excuse my offense.”

As his words fell, the officer’s hand suddenly brandished a military dagger, stabbing towards Lin Chen as fast as lightning.

Lin Chen snorted coldly, sidestepped, and caught the officer’s wrist.

The officer showed no sign of weakness as flames erupted from his palm, slapping towards Lin Chen’s chest.

However, just as the officer’s fist was about to hit Lin Chen’s chest,

suddenly, a flash of lightning struck, tightly binding the officer’s hand.

The next instant, Lin Chen threw a punch, sending the officer flying backward, crashing heavily to the ground.

The officer barely managed to stand up when he felt a heaviness in his chest and spat out a mouthful of blood.

The officer’s energy instantly dwindled, and he fainted on the spot.
