Chapter 703: Chapter 704: Encounter with Liu Ruyan Again (Eleven More)

After scolding Culi, Lin Chen directly picked him up and threw him into the elevator, ”Kid, if you dare to come to Sophina Group again, I’ll crush your manhood.”

Once the elevator closed, Lin Chen dusted his hands off and returned to the CEO’s office.

At the moment, Sophina sat in the boss chair with an icy expression.

”Feeling good after hitting someone? Yet you might have just destroyed Sophina Group’s last hope,” Sophina sighed.

Lin Chen gave a faint smile, ”Wife, don’t worry, I’ve got this, Sophina Group won’t collapse.”

In fact, Lin Chen had already planned that if Sophina Group really lost this bid, he’d have Xue Ying inject funds into Sophina Group to help Sophina through this difficult time.

”Forget it, I still have some documents to approve. You’ve been away these past few days, and the security department has had a lot to deal with, so you should get busy too,” she said.

Lin Chen patted Sophina with a smile, ”Don’t push yourself too hard, I’m here for everything. And don’t forget, I am your husband.”

Upon hearing Lin Chen’s words, Sophina froze for a moment, then glared at him irritably, ”Have you forgotten what I said? You can’t call me ’wife’ in the company.”

Lin Chen chuckled awkwardly, ”There’s no one else here now, is there? Alright, I’m off to work.”

With that, Lin Chen left the CEO’s office.

Culi crawled out of the elevator, looking extremely miserable.

His clothes were torn, his tie skewed, and his handsome face now as swollen as a pig’s head.

The news of Lin Chen beating up Culi had spread throughout the company, sending a chill down everyone’s spine.

The men who still harbored fantasies about Sophina instantly scattered those lingering thoughts.

Culi lifted his head and looked coldly in the direction of the CEO’s office, ”Sophina, Lin Chen, just you wait. Within a month, I’ll have Sophina Group bankrupt.”

When Lin Chen returned to the security department, he found that despite his absence, Hei Ta had kept everything in perfect order.

Seeing Lin Chen, Hei Ta greeted him cheerfully, ”Director Lin, I heard our company is recruiting new people today, could you recruit a few girls for the security department?”

Lin Chen gave Hei Ta a disdainful look, ”What does the security department need girls for?”

Hei Ta continued, ”There are many female employees in our company, and there are some jobs that we men are not convenient to do.”

Lin Chen nodded, ”You’ve got a point. I’ll go take a look at the recruitment scene then.”

At the recruitment site, over twenty girls were nervously waiting for their interviews.

Liu Ruyan was visibly tense, knowing that her competitors were all professionals, either in finance or Chinese studies, while she alone had studied medicine.

Actually, with Liu Ruyan’s ability, she could have easily gotten a job in medicine, but to evade a manhunt, she dared not work in the medical field.

”Liu Ruyan!” Suddenly, the interviewer’s voice rang out from inside.

Liu Ruyan’s heart tightened, and she quickly went into the conference room.

A few interviewers were seated inside the room, with representatives from several departments, including security.

Seeing Liu Ruyan’s resume, the HR manager frowned, ”You studied medicine?”

Liu Ruyan nodded, ”Yes, I’m a doctoral student from the medical school.”

”A doctoral student? A medical professional doctoral student, what brings you here looking for work?” the HR manager asked with a furrowed brow.

”I wish to try a different field. I will work hard to learn and adapt to the new work environment,” Liu Ruyan said anxiously.

After all, she was practically penniless now, and staying in Sophina Group would mean both room and board, with decent pay.

If she failed the competition, it would mean being without a penny and even struggling to feed herself.

”Have you ever worked in our industry? Do you have any experience?” the HR manager asked, looking at Liu Ruyan.

Upon hearing the HR manager’s question, Liu Ruyan shook her head repeatedly.

The HR manager said coldly, ”Miss Liu Ruyan, our company needs employees with rich work experience, not someone like you who requires us to train from scratch. I’m sorry, but I have to tell you regretfully that you’re not suitable for our company.”

Hearing the HR manager’s words, Liu Ruyan gave a helpless wry smile and stood up.

It seemed like a failure again, and suddenly an image flashed across her mind.

It was all that bastard’s fault. If he hadn’t stolen my money, I wouldn’t have ended up like this.

However, just as she was about to reach the door, suddenly a crisp voice called out.

”Wait a minute!”

Liu Ruyan paused when she heard that voice. It was too familiar, as if she had heard it somewhere before.

Suddenly her body trembled slightly, she turned her head, and was stunned.

The person walking in was the very man who had taken her first time.

Liu Ruyan and Lin Chen had thought that they would never see each other again in this lifetime, yet the world was so small that they met again less than two hours after parting.

”Our security department will take this person. The guards often get injured during training, and we’re short of someone trained in medicine for nursing,” Lin Chen said indifferently.

”Hmph, I’m sorry, I don’t need it. Goodbye,” Liu Ruyan said resentfully, glancing at Lin Chen and turning to leave.

”A monthly salary of five thousand!”

Liu Ruyan didn’t stop; she continued to walk away.

”Ten thousand!” Lin Chen continued.

Screech!

The conference room went silent. The recruitment was for the most junior positions, and the highest salary was only five thousand. Yet, Lin Chen had offered a monthly salary of ten thousand to attract this person.

”I want my salary paid in advance,” Liu Ruyan said with a heavy voice.

”No problem, can do!” Lin Chen said confidently.

At this moment, an interviewer whispered to Lin Chen, ”Director Lin, our salary scale can’t possibly offer that much for her level.”

”Take it from my salary,” Lin Chen said indifferently.

The interviewers all saw something amiss in their exchanges. It seemed this woman and Director Lin had an unusual relationship; otherwise, why would he supplement her salary with his own?

When Lin Chen brought Liu Ruyan to the security department, everyone there was stunned.

It had always been a man’s world in the security department with no women around, and they never expected that such a beautiful woman would arrive this time.

”From today on, you’ll be responsible for the security department’s clerical work, the treatment of everyone’s injuries, and of course, the cleanliness of my office,” Lin Chen said lightly.

Liu Ruyan looked at Lin Chen coldly and said, ”Fine, Director Lin, but there’s something I’d like to discuss with you.”

”Then come to my office,” Lin Chen said indifferently.

As they entered the office, Lin Chen, with a smile brimming in his eyes, said nonchalantly, ”Miss Liu, I didn’t expect us to meet again so soon.”

Liu Ruyan snorted coldly, ”I didn’t join your company to be your little mistress, and please don’t mention that matter again. Let’s pretend that what happened last night never took place, and that we’ve never met each other.”

With that, Liu Ruyan turned around and left the office directly.

Watching the vanishing figure, Lin Chen was at a loss for words.

In fact, when Lin Chen had seen the helpless look in Liu Ruyan’s eyes, he had felt a sense of reluctance, as he had after all taken her first time. That’s why he had decided to keep her in the company.

It seemed the resentment she held towards him was deep indeed!
