Chapter 202: Chapter 202 - Tonight Was Enough (R)

Zac kissed her again.

Roxie had expected them to sleep after the conversation. It was almost four in the morning. Zac had already spent hours asleep on her couch, and she had barely slept at all.

Then his hand slipped beneath the back of her tank top.

His palm spread across her skin while his mouth stayed on hers.

Roxie moved closer.

Zac was warm beneath the blanket. He still smelled faintly like beer and Dylan’s basement, but she could smell his soap underneath it.

His fingers moved slowly along her spine.

Roxie felt him hard against her thigh.

She pulled back enough to look at him.

”Already?”

His ears started turning red.

”You kissed me.”

”You kissed me first.”

”And you kissed me back.”

Roxie smiled.

Zac saw it and pulled her closer before she could say anything else.

His mouth covered hers again. The kiss grew harder while his hand moved along her back.

Roxie pressed her thigh against him.

A rough sound left his throat.

She did it again.

Zac caught her waist and rolled onto his back, pulling her with him.

Roxie landed across his hips with her knees on either side of him. The blanket twisted around their legs. She pushed it lower before it trapped her.

Zac looked up at her.

His hands remained around her waist as she settled over him.

The hard length beneath his sweatpants pressed directly between her legs. Her silk shorts and underwear were thin enough that she felt the shape of him.

Heat rushed into her face.

Zac watched her reaction.

Roxie leaned down and kissed him before he could say anything.

One of his hands moved behind her neck. The other slid over her hip and pulled her closer.

Roxie rolled her hips once.

Zac groaned into her mouth.

The sound made her move again.

His entire body tightened beneath her.

Roxie liked feeling every reaction. Zac could act cocky and say whatever he wanted, but his body always gave him away first.

She moved slowly, rubbing herself against him through their clothes.

The pressure between her legs became stronger with every pass.

Zac’s fingers pushed beneath the back of her shorts and stopped against the waistband of her underwear. He held her there and helped her move harder over him.

Roxie broke the kiss to breathe.

His mouth moved along her jaw and down the side of her neck.

”You’re going to leave another mark.”

”I won’t.”

”You always say that.”

Roxie pushed down harder.

Zac’s teeth caught her skin.

A sound escaped her.

He lifted his head and looked at the spot.

”That one was your fault.”

Roxie stared at him.

”How?”

”You moved.”

”I’m supposed to stay still?”

”It would help.”

”No.”

She grabbed his hair and kissed him again.

His hand moved higher beneath her tank top. His fingers brushed the side of her breast before slipping beneath her bra.

His palm closed around her.

Roxie inhaled sharply.

Zac watched her face while his thumb passed over her nipple. It hardened beneath his touch.

”Fuck,” he whispered.

Her face warmed.

He had touched her before, but he still looked surprised by every part of her.

His fingers tightened gently around her breast before teasing her nipple between them.

Roxie’s hips moved.

His eyes closed for a second.

Zac slipped his other hand beneath her tank top and cupped her second breast. He touched both slowly while Roxie rocked against him.

The pressure between her legs grew heavier.

Her tank top had ridden high enough to expose the bottom of her bra.

Zac looked down.

”Take it off.”

Roxie sat back across his hips.

She pulled the tank top over her head and dropped it beside the bed.

Zac watched the entire time.

Her face felt hot even though he had already seen her breasts before.

He pushed her bra above them.

His eyes dropped.

Roxie almost covered herself.

Then both of his hands closed around her breasts.

The look on his face stopped her.

”You’re staring.”

”I know.”

His thumb brushed over one nipple.

Roxie’s back arched.

Zac lifted his head from the pillow and closed his mouth around it.

The wet heat made her gasp.

Her fingers caught his hair.

He sucked slowly while his hand remained around her other breast. His tongue moved over the hard tip before drawing it deeper into his mouth.

Roxie’s hips moved against him again.

Zac groaned around her nipple.

The vibration went straight through her.

She gripped the wooden headboard with one hand and kept the other tangled in his hair.

”Zac.”

He looked up at her without releasing her breast.

Roxie’s thighs tightened around him.

His teeth grazed her lightly.

She moaned.

Zac’s hand tightened around her waist. He sucked harder, then released her and moved to her other breast.

Roxie was wet enough to feel her underwear sticking to her. Each movement over him dragged the fabric against her.

She wanted more pressure.

She pushed down harder.

Zac’s hips lifted beneath her.

A broken sound left him.

”Slow down.”

Roxie looked at him.

His face was flushed. His breathing had become rough, and his fingers pressed harder into her waist.

”Why?”

Zac stared at her before his head dropped back against the pillow.

Roxie moved again.

”Babe.”

She liked how the word sounded when he was losing control.

Roxie leaned down and kissed him.

Their mouths met harder. Zac held the back of her neck while Roxie pulled at the bottom of his shirt.

He lifted enough for her to drag it over his head.

She threw it onto the floor.

Roxie sat back and looked at him.

His body looked good from years of football training. Muscle covered his chest and stomach. The veins in his arms stood beneath his skin whenever his hands tightened around her waist.

Zac tried to pull her down again.

Roxie resisted.

She ran her fingers over his chest.

The hair on his arms lifted.

Zac shivered.

Roxie smiled.

”You’re beautiful.”

His hands stopped.

”What?”

”You heard me.”

His ears became redder.

Roxie leaned forward and kissed the center of his chest.

”So beautiful.”

Zac released a shaky breath.

She kissed his collarbone and moved lower.

His stomach tightened beneath her mouth.

”Roxie.”

She kissed one of his nipples.

His hips jerked beneath her.

Roxie looked up.

Zac stared back at her with his lips parted.

She closed her mouth around it again.

A rough sound tore from him.

Roxie smiled against his skin.

She copied what he had done to her, circling the nipple with her tongue before sucking gently. Her fingers touched the other one.

Zac cursed.

His hands tightened around her waist while his hips lifted against her.

Roxie moved to the other side and gave it the same attention.

His breathing became rougher.

”Babe, seriously.”

She grazed him lightly with her teeth.

His fingers dug into her hips.

Roxie felt the pressure through her shorts, but she kept going.

”Roxie.”

His voice had changed.

She lifted her head.

Zac’s chest rose and fell beneath her.

His face was completely flushed.

Roxie looked down at the hard shape beneath his sweatpants.

She moved lower.

Zac’s hand slid into her hair.

”Where are you going?”

Roxie kissed the center of his stomach.

His muscles tightened beneath her lips.

She followed the line of hair beneath his navel until she reached the waistband of his sweatpants.

Zac had gone completely still.

Roxie pressed her lips against the skin just above it.

A deep groan left him.

”Wait.”

His fingers tightened in her hair.

Roxie kissed the same spot again.

Zac’s hips jerked upward.

The hard shape beneath the fabric pressed closer to her face.

”Roxie, I’m gonna...”

His warning broke apart.

His stomach tightened.

Zac’s hips jerked again as he came inside his sweatpants.

Roxie froze.

She felt him pulsing beneath the fabric. His fingers remained tight in her hair, and his eyes squeezed shut while several broken sounds left him.

The damp spot spread across the front of his sweatpants.

Roxie stayed close enough to feel every movement.

For several seconds, the only sounds in the room were their breathing and the creak of the mattress.

Zac eventually released her hair and covered his face with one arm.

”Shit.”

Roxie crawled back up his body.

His ears were bright red. The color had spread across his cheeks and down his neck.

She kissed his jaw.

Zac kept his arm over his eyes.

Roxie looked down at the wet patch.

Her smile grew.

He caught her chin before she could stare any longer.

”Stop.”

”I barely touched you.”

”That isn’t helping.”

Roxie laughed.

Zac’s face became even redder.

”You think this is funny?”

”A little.”

”I told you to wait.”

”You said it late.”

”I said it before I came.”

”I didn’t know you meant right then.”

Zac stared at her.

Roxie tried to stop smiling.

She failed.

”I made you come in your pants.”

”Thank you for explaining what happened.”

Her smile widened.

Zac pushed himself upright and grabbed the blanket.

”I need the bathroom.”

”You know where it is.”

He wrapped the blanket around his waist before climbing out of bed.

Roxie watched him walk away.

Zac looked over his shoulder.

”Stop looking.”

”You’re the one walking around with my blanket.”

”I’m hiding from you.”

The blanket slipped before he reached the bathroom.

Roxie saw the wet patch again and laughed.

Zac closed the bathroom door harder than necessary.

Roxie fell back against the pillows.

Her body still felt hot. The ache between her legs had never gone away.

She pressed her thighs together.

Zac had lost control because of her.

She liked it more than she expected.

Everyone at school talked about him like they knew what he was like with girls. None of them had seen him covering his face because Roxie made him come without even touching him beneath his clothes.

He wanted her that badly.

The thought made the ache between her legs worse.

Roxie reached down and touched the skin beneath the side of her shorts.

His fingers had left pale marks across her hip.

She pressed them gently.

They hurt.

She still smiled.

The bathroom door opened several minutes later.

Zac returned wearing only his boxers. His face was still red, and his hair stood in several directions from Roxie’s hands.

He stopped beside the bed.

Roxie lifted the blanket.

”Come back.”

His eyes moved over her.

Her bra remained pushed above her breasts. Her shorts had shifted high across her thighs.

The embarrassment left his face.

Zac climbed onto the bed.

His hand settled on Roxie’s knee and moved slowly up her thigh.

The heat between her legs sharpened.

His fingers reached the bottom of her shorts.

Roxie caught his wrist.

”We should sleep.”

Zac looked at her hand.

”You’re still turned on.”

Her face warmed.

”I know.”

His fingers pressed against the edge of her shorts.

Roxie tightened her hold on his wrist.

”Not tonight.”

Zac looked at her.

For a second, his hand stayed where it was.

His jaw tightened.

Then he pulled away and dropped onto the mattress beside her.

”Fine.”

The word came flat.

Roxie lowered her bra and pulled the blanket over them.

Zac turned onto his back.

He said nothing.

Roxie watched the side of his face.

”You’re mad.”

”I’m tired.”

She knew that was not the whole answer.

Roxie moved closer and rested her head against his shoulder.

Zac remained still for several seconds.

Then his arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her hard against his chest.

The pressure reached the sore marks on her hip.

Roxie flinched.

His grip loosened a little, but his arm stayed around her.

He kissed the top of her head.

Roxie rested her hand against his chest.

She had stopped because she knew where it would go.

If Zac touched her beneath the shorts, she would let him continue. She wanted his fingers. She wanted his mouth. She wanted to know what it felt like with nothing between them.

Then there would be something else to lose.

Her virginity had never felt important before Zac. She still had it because nobody else had mattered enough.

With him, it felt permanent.

Giving him that part of herself would connect everything. Tennessee. The future. Every promise he had made about staying.

Roxie had already lost people who said they loved her.

She pressed closer to Zac’s chest.

His arm tightened again.

The grip should have bothered her.

Instead, it made her feel wanted.

He had come back because he wanted to be near her. He had chosen her in front of the entire school. Even while irritated, he held her like letting go was impossible.

Roxie closed her eyes.

For tonight, that was enough.
