Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce

William Quinn shot to his feet, only to see that Nathaniel Monroe had taken the phone.

He immediately stepped forward, holding his hand out to Nathaniel Monroe. ”Give me the phone!”

’That voice!’

’That voice that was so incredibly familiar!’

’He’d been searching for so long!’

’That was his first-night girl!’

Nathaniel Monroe frowned at him. ”Mr. Quinn, this is my phone.”

”Give it to me!”

William Quinn’s expression was exceptionally grave, a frightening madness swirling in his blue eyes.

Nathaniel Monroe glanced at the contact name on the phone screen: Iris.

’Good, it’s not her full name.’

’And William Quinn didn’t know much Chinese.’

He hung up the phone, deleted the call from his history, and said, ”Mr. Quinn, I can’t give it to you. This is my phone, and that was just a spam call.”

”I don’t believe you!” William Quinn was stubborn. ”I want your phone. Or, give me that number!”

Nathaniel Monroe felt the pressure, and a sliver of suspicion rose in his mind.

’William Quinn seems very familiar with Iris Yates’s voice?’

’How could that be?’

’They’ve never met.’

But a sense of unease crept into Nathaniel Monroe’s heart.

’He had to hide Iris Yates’s identity. He absolutely couldn’t tell William Quinn.’

He said, ”Mr. Quinn, why are you so insistent on having my phone? Do you happen to know the person who just called?”

Excitement and madness flared in William Quinn’s eyes. ”I’ve found her! She’s my first-night girl! I’ve finally found her, so give me the phone! I have to call her, I have to confirm it!”

Hearing this, Nathaniel Monroe’s heart sank.

’So it really was Iris Yates!’

He couldn’t help but recall the last time he’d run into Iris Yates at the hospital.

She was in the gynecology department.

’She wasn’t just feeling unwell—she must have been there for a consultation!’

As for what she was consulting about, he didn’t dare let his thoughts stray any further.

Nathaniel Monroe gritted his teeth. ’So, something this huge happened to her and she didn’t even tell him.’

’It was a good thing he found out. Otherwise, if William Quinn found her, the consequences would be unimaginable!’

Nathaniel Monroe reined in his thoughts and said with a smile, ”It was a spam call. The voices always sound similar. Mr. Quinn, that definitely wasn’t the girl you’re looking for. If you don’t believe me, look at my phone.”

He showed the phone to William Quinn; the number was right there in his spam filter.

William Quinn didn’t believe him at all. He snatched the phone and began frantically searching through it, even making several calls.

But the voice that made his blood boil with excitement was nowhere to be found!

’What’s going on?’

’How could this be?!’

’Are my ears playing tricks on me?’

’Impossible!’

’He had seared the voice of his first-night girl into his very soul. He’d never forget it, not even if he died. He couldn’t have misheard!’

”Where did the number go?!” William Quinn lunged forward and grabbed Nathaniel Monroe by the collar. ”You tampered with it, didn’t you?! Where is the number?!”

Nathaniel Monroe stumbled back a few steps, holding up his hands. ”Mr. Quinn, you must be joking. I didn’t tamper with anything. All the numbers are on the phone. You saw it yourself—it was just a spam call.”

Just as William Quinn was about to say more, Walker Grant came over and seized his wrist.

Walker Grant’s grip was immense; he forcefully pried William Quinn’s hand away. His expression was cold as he said, ”We are all helping you look. When we find her, we’ll tell you. William Quinn, if you carry on like this, you might never find this person.”
