Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce

Chloe Reed’s body remained taut.

She was convinced he wouldn’t just hold her and sleep.

However, as time ticked by, she soon heard the sound of steady breathing from behind her. Only then did Chloe Reed gradually begin to relax.

A flicker of surprise passed through her, but she didn’t dwell on it. She hadn’t been tired before, but now, with the quiet surroundings and the sound of his steady breathing, a wave of drowsiness washed over her.

The night was deep. As the girl’s even breaths filled the silence, the man behind her opened his eyes. He let out a silent sigh and placed a gentle kiss on her cheek.

In the darkness, he gazed at her with tenderness and adoration.

’He’d tried. He just couldn’t let her go.’

’So, from now on, he would use any means necessary to be with her. They would be together, even in death.’

...

「The next day.」

Chloe Reed opened her eyes to the sensation of a hand roaming over her body. She immediately grabbed it.

”Didn’t you tell me to get a good night’s sleep?”

Her voice was hoarse, thick with sleep.

Walker’s face was nestled in the crook of her neck. He chuckled softly at her words. ”You slept very well.”

Chloe Reed pressed her lips together and threw back the covers to get out of bed.

But Walker held her down. ”Once?”

A faint blush crept onto Chloe Reed’s fair cheeks. She frowned at him. ”I don’t...”

Walker pinned her with half his body, his voice raspy. ”Ten times a month, remember? We’ve only done it twice this month.”

Chloe Reed: ”...”

’It was part of their deal. She couldn’t refuse.’

She squeezed her eyes shut, turned her back to him, and snapped, ”Just get it over with!”

Walker arched an eyebrow, then suddenly dove under the covers.

When Chloe Reed realized what he was doing, she kicked at him, only for him to catch her by the ankle.

His hot breath fanned across her delicate skin as he said in a low voice, ”This is only fun if both people enjoy it.”

Chloe Reed’s cheeks flushed an even deeper red.

「An hour later.」

After they had both showered and dressed, they went downstairs. Breakfast was already prepared, but Chloe Reed wore a cold expression on her face.

She had discovered that the clothes that had mysteriously vanished from the walk-in closet last night had reappeared!

She couldn’t resist a sarcastic remark. ”This little mouse is certainly hardworking, moving things back and forth without getting tired.”

Walker’s expression didn’t change as he said, ”Maybe this mouse just likes to exercise.”

Chloe Reed: ”...”

’Psycho!’

She finished her breakfast and went straight to the hospital.

Walker first went to the old family estate to see Noah Grant. The boy was being held by someone, but when he saw Walker, he reached out his arms to him.

Walker took him in his arms. Seeing that the boy still seemed listless, his expression darkened. He asked gently, ”Did Noah get any sleep last night?”

The nanny replied, ”He slept, but he woke up startled several times during the night. He cried every time.”

”Uncle, I want Mommy...”

Noah clung to Walker’s neck, his voice pitiful and sad. ”I saw Mommy. I want Mommy.”

Walker said, ”I’ll take you out to play.”

He took Noah to see a child psychologist for a therapy session.

The little boy finally managed to get some peaceful sleep.

The psychologist said that three more therapy sessions should be enough to resolve the issue.

When Noah woke up, Walker took him back to the family estate.

However, as the car was turning a corner, a woman suddenly rushed into the road. Fortunately, the driver was skilled and managed to swerve out of the way just in time.

”Mommy!”
